DDA Chapter 23

The meeting with Katie's counselor actually turned out quite well. After the Christmas break, she'll be able to transfer into the intermediate orchestra with minimal fuss. She will have to trade some classes, but on the whole, I think it will be a good thing. She's pretty excited!

Now, I'm off to fold more laundry and go to bed! Night all!

Heidi - I've got your cameras up off and on, but where are we looking. I can't tell in the dark. What is each one facing?

Both are almost the same, just a slight difference - straight across the lake pointed at Epcot.

Tia, my friend who works at the Poly posted on his FB that they got an internal memo that the Lights of Winter are definitely not happening. Not sure how I feel about that yet. I guess if my trip was longer I would be disappointed. This trip is so short we probably wouldn't have spent much time looking at them anyway!

Bah! Well, maybe it means they can come up with a new technology by next year so that I can see them then. ;)

Seems like the Epcot lights are gone for sure. A FB friend posted this from DisneyParks on Twitter:

RT @DisneyParks: Note:Lights of Winter at Epcot has bn enjoyed 4 years. Tech 2 operate lights is obsolete, prompting us 2 retire them.
That excuse is almost more upsetting than the fact that the lights are gone. How stupid do they think the park guests are?????:headache: I had been telling Lizzy how cool these are and now have to tell her she won't get to see them.:sad2:

Glad you got that worked out!

Glad you made it safely Heidi, I'll give you a call when we make it to MK tomorrow night.

Glynis - Glad you could get Katie schedule worked out, for the past two days I've only taken one pain pill each day, today it was back to two, but still no where near as bad as things were, I'm clueless. :confused3

We were back at Epcot today, the big tree is up but definitely no sign of the winter lights.

We've had a busy day. For whatever reason I got the cooking bug today. I baked a cake (mmm, cake) and then I made a batch of beef stew to freeze, which will make for a couple of meals. Then I marinated steaks for dinner only to find out that my gas grill was out of propane, so I had to broil them in the oven. I HATE that. It makes such a mess with all that grease splattering about. Plus it doesn't taste as good either.

We rented Up from Redbox today. What a cute movie. We all enjoyed it.

We are out of propane as well, because I left the grill on after I made burgers last week. Stupid pregnancy brain! :headache: I'm grateful I didn't burn the house down. I'm not a fan of broiled steak either, but my mom can make an awesome ribeye in a cast-iron skillet.

Don't your potatoes get mushy when you freeze stew? I sometimes freeze the leftovers for Kevin's lunches, but I refuse to eat it because the texture is all funky.

The kids and I spent a couple hours with Jennifer and the girls today. Elise and Avery are so stinkin' smart and adorable, too!

Still no actual packing done, but I only have one load of laundry left. That is, one load in preparation for this trip...there's still a couple of other mountains in the basement.

Sweet dreams DDA! And I hope Debbie, Richie, Heidi and John have magical days tomorrow!

Elin is going to be so upset.

You are so right. I wrote them a letter, not that it will matter. But, their excuse holds no water. And they didn't have the guts to post it anywhere but on Twitter!

They think we are pretty darned stupid.

Morning...notice I didn't throw a good in there. For whatever reason I just didn't sleep well last night so I am not at all psyched about going to work in a few minutes. Hopefully Diet Cherry Pepsi will keep me awake for the next 5 hours then I can go to bed and get the sleep that I missed. I'm working tonight so I'd like to be in a good mood for that.

Good Morning,

It's a cool misty morning here, hopefully the skies will clear some. Today is a MK day, we're headed over there this morning until lunch, then we'll take a mid day break before having dinner a Grand Floridian Cafe followed by the Christmas party.

Any of you in the bad weather today stay safe, Ida is not giving up easy.

Amy, have a wonderful trip!

Good morning,

I didn't sleep well either..it rained & poured all night (remnants of Ida) & the noise kept me up.

I am going to the mall to try to get some Christmas shopping done & I know I will be needing a huge coffee while I am there.
