recipe for banana bread please

It's a slight adaptation on Vicki's "Great Aunt Bess' Banana Bread"
Mix:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil (Vicki's is for shortening)
2 beaten eggs
4 T milk
dash salt

Add:
3 soft bananas
Add:
1 t soda
2 cups flour
1 pkg chopped nuts (optional)

Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. It's done with toothpick comes out clean. Makes one large loaf.

**When I have 4 larger bananas or 5 smaller ones, I make a batch and a half and bake it in two pans. The loaves are still nice sized that way. Plus, I usually add about 1/2-3/4 cup of chocolate chips to one loaf per Terra's request. It is really yummy and our favorite recipe! THANKS VICKI!

Janet I hope you feel better quickly:wizard:

The boys had good days, no complaints anyway. Colby said his day was really quick and he got to play on the Spider at recess. Kindergartners can't play on the spider so that was huge for him :lmao: They came home with lots of homework for me, none for them though. I was a good girl and had all my homework done by 3:30 so I decided to do our budget and pay bills:headache: That's one crappy job done.

Good job on finishing your homework quickly, Deb! Amazing how much homework Mom gets during that first week, huh.

Hi, everyone! Popping in to say I was thinking of you all. Hope all the kiddos are good and settling back into school (I guess some may not be back yet). And I hope all of YOU are doing well too!!!

Hi Denise! We miss seeing you! How are the kids liking 3rd grade (that's right, isn't it?)? How's work?

Well, I am off to get the meat browned for tonight's taco soup. I think I need to break out the crock pot this week or I'm going to be struggling for dinner plans most days. We've got meetings or ball games or something every night this week. Janet - what was the site you used for recipes last year when your kitchen was under renovations?

okay thanks.

I got to the funeral a little bit early and I am glad I did....I was told my absolute favorite person had suddenly passed away and her funeral is tomorrow morning. Suzann was always one of the few people who knew everything about me and was a book fiend too. I am pretty sure other things are contributing but I am heartbroken and a blubbering mess right now.

I'm so sorry Theresa :hug::hug::hug:

This site has some pretty good recipes:

hi Denise, good to see you post!

Jen my fingers are crossed that Sat. is a go!

I am taking off work tomorrow as well, so now I do not have to be back till Thursday. I should be better by then, if not I will put a call into the Dr.

If your dad comes to Denver I so want to meet him!!

I can't substitute for a couple of reasons...the major one is that there are 3 schools schools that were closed last spring that were full of teachers who couldn't find positions so are now substituting.

The medical coding sounds kind of interesting. Glad you are having fun with it so far.

If the Denver thing works out, you know I'll be letting you know! It would be fun to have you meet him!

I'm so sorry, Theresa! What a blow to lose 2 wonderful people at the same time!

I've very sorry for your losses, Theresa.

the game on Saturday was a lot of fun. The stadium is really nice. Hal and I each got a t-shirt. It started to rain during the 8th inning. Finally, an hour later, they called the game. We got on the road by 11:30 and got home at 2:30am.

I was smart and had brought a jacket, hat and rain poncho. I was wearing my croc sandals, so once on the bus, I was dry. :goodvibes

Theresa-so sorry for your losses.

Janet-Hope you're feeling better soon!:wizard:

Robyn-thinking of you-hope all went well!:wizard::hug:

Becky-the shower looked great!

Elin-ouch! Hope Kristin's toe heals quickly!

Deb-great job on getting your homework done early!

Jen-hope you're days aren't too long this week-meetings sounds boring....hope the weather holds for Saturday!

Denise-nice to see you!

Thank you all for the hugs...I knew I could come to you...I am sure you on facebook can see my wall if you wanted and realize why I wish I could figure out how to defriend my dad.

Tomorrow's funeral will be the first one Cassidy has gone to. I told both Abi and her about it and gave them the choice of going or not. I think Abi would go if she knew that she wouldn't get emotional. She may still choose to go but as of right now she doesn't want to. Suzann was one of the girl's favorite front desk ladies also.

I do have a beef-when has did it become acceptable to go to a funeral in casual clothes??:sad2: It was embarrassing what some people wore today.

We set up table space for 80. We had about 65 people, I think as I didn't count. All day yesterday my Mom kept saying we were not going to have enough food and she was going to go to the store and buy more stuff, even though we kept telling her we had plenty. Luckily she did not as we had more then enough.
Amazing job Becky. You done good!:cool1::cool1:

Good morning, DDA!

Yesterday ended up crazy and busy, but then I figured it would. I did manage to get everything I wanted to do for my GS meeting and a lot more. Saturday night I got on a roll and had a vision of how to weave everything I want to do together so I mapped it all out at once. That, in turn, allowed me to give my co-leader a list of every meeting for the whole year where we want to do a craft and if there were any specifics for it so hopefully that will make her happy.

My week is lopsided crazy. Every morning/afternoon is basically empty, save our park day time, but every night is full to the brim with meetings and other stuff. Tomorrow night's the fun one though! We're going to collect recycling at the Cardinal's game. They have a group come in every game to help promote the stadium's recycling efforts. We just collect bottles, etc between innings and then get to watch the game the rest of the time. Terra is really excited so it should be fun!

For now though, I've got to get to the grocery store, get laundry started, and who knows what else....Blech!
Your a busy lady Tia. :cool1::thumbsup2
