DDA Chapter 22

So we MIGHT be going to Disneyland in February! Dana will be in LA on business. We have 2 free tickets from US Airways & Danas ticket is paid for so we'd only pay for 2 airfares. We have Marriott points so this may work out. Just in the planning stages though...hopefully things will be ok with my mom & overall so we can go.

the Anaheim Marriott is almost within walking distance of DL and they run the cutest shuttle trolleys all the time. They are very reasonably priced too. It would be a great location on points!

6-10. A short trip, using fewer points. My plan is not to go to WDW next summer and save the points for a really nice December trip. Think I can hold out??? ;) I'm aiming for a cruise in the summer.

MagicMeets is a cruise next summer!

Beth and Janet - Happy birthday to both your kiddos! Hope they both have great birthday weekends.

I was going to say the very same thing, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the ever-growing DDA kids!

Oct. 23 - 26. Just a long weekend, alas.

that was the week we used to travel to WDW. It is a great one to be there. I am glad you get to have an adults only trip! You will have a great time.

A few more night shots.

Thanks Elin, I will check it out.

Tammi,
I am loving your pictures!:thumbsup2 You had a great view!!!! Thanks for the Citricos pictures, we will have to try that next year. Looking forward to more.

Beth,
Congrats to Laura on getting her learner's permit. Happy sweet 16!

Tammi - I loved all the photos and the beginning of your TR! Keep it coming (when your headache goes away).

Tammi - I'm loving your TR! Your kids are so darling! And so is their mom!!! I'm so glad you had a good time!

Elizabeth - The whole elective thing is screwy, I think! I guess I don't understand it. Good luck to your son and the PE thing.

Katie's schedule is so bizarre to me. We are on an A B schedule. On her A days she has Academy science, Academy English, Pre-Algebra and Keyboarding. On her B days she has Drama 7, CTE (career, technology education), Orchestra and PE. All her A day classes are full year. Drama, and PE are only half year classes. At the half year mark she switches to Chorus and History.

When did PE and History become half year classes? I thought those were supposed to be year round. Oh well. I guess her counselors know what they are doing.

She had her first B day today, and really enjoyed it. Well, of course she did! There's no homework for any of her B day classes! I'd enjoy that, too!

I just talked Alan into going out tonight. Luckily, a movie that he desperately wants to see is playing at the dollar theater, so we'll go see Angels and Demons. We've both read the book, and are eager to see if it's any better than the DaVinci Code was. I hope so!

Loving your pictures Tammi!

Glynis hope you & Alan have a relaxing evening!

How cute! Loving your TR and photos! How fun to go to MK and just enjoy the atmosphere without rides.

Enjoy our night out!

We haven't purchased airfare for December yet. Dorinda is going to California Tuesday and has calculated that she would have enough points for a free ticket after those flights. I haven't purchased airfare yet because I don't want to risk not being on the same flight with her. Flying in December we have a greater risk of being delayed and that would be a whole lot "nicer" to have someone else there with me and if we are on the same flights we can arrange transport to/from Logan together.

The flights we're thinking of are $279rt. Not a great price for us to MCO. There are flights for $199 but those would get us into Orlando at midnight and leave Orlando at 6am. I just can't do that.

I just got my Jet Blue Amex credit card statement. They don't transfer the points to your JetBlue account until the next billing cycle. I just calculated tonight that "if" Amex considers what I consider "bonus" points then I will have EXACTLY the 100 points I need for a free ticket on my next billing cycle. They give double points for dining. I know they have given me double points on Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds in the past-those are classified as "food". I assume they would give me double points on something classified as "restaurant" BUT the merchant that is classified as a restaurant is the Ft. Wilderness Marina for our fishing trip. If they don't give me that as a double points I will be short just 1 point.

I hope I calculated it correctly!!!

Holy crap!! :scared1: The Knocker (the woman below us who would randomly pound on things in the wee hours of the morning) DIED!!:eek::eek:
DH said there were people going in and out today and he somehow got into a conversation with one of them who said The Knocker had terminal cancer and she died a couple of days ago! Wow. :sad2: She had been in that apartment since we moved in and I don't think we EVER spoke to her. I will say the way our building is configured we never really saw her, but still. Now we feel kind of bad.

Not sure what kind of cancer she had. Maybe if it was brain that explains WHY she knocked on the walls! Well, hopefully she appreciated the quiet while we were at WDW. Poor woman! Had we known she was on hospice we would have offered to help out somehow.

Bernadette - I hope the points work out for your free airfare! :wizard:

I think we have to fly something like 12 round trips before we have enough miles for a free ticket. They charge a fee to transfer miles from one account to the other, so when fares are relatively low the transfer fee is only about $50 less than the fare to buy a ticket.

Anne Marie and Bernadette - I got through all of your pictures today and really enjoyed looking at them. Thanks for sharing. It seems you had some nasty weather. I only remember one late afternoon downpour that lasted for a few hours. Last year we had rain almost every day.

Anne Marie - how did your kids like Ohana's for dinner? We've been for breakfast but not dinner. Maybe we'll try that in January. I see Daniel has been studying his HM book. ;)

Anne Marie - I was able to look at your pictures this morning and they are great!! So much fun! Thanks for all of the Hidden Mickey pictures.

Tammi - Great report so far. Can't wait to read more. I hope your headache goes away soon.

Glynis - Enjoy date night tonight! Rachel has A/B days too, but their a little more balanced with the core/electives than it sounds like Katie's are. Though hers doesn't sound too bad having two nights for the homework for A-day classes and little/nothing added by the B-day classes. Rachel just has steady homework from both days. We're still working on convincing her that putting one days homework off isn't good if you just add more on the next day.

Elizabeth - Sorry to hear about your neighbor.

Beth - Congrats to Laura!

Tammi - Terra really likes 'Ohana. She loves the turkey especially, but also the games and fun stuff. In fact, that was the first restaurant she mentioned today when we were making our list.
