DDA Chapter 22

We don't have the DDP for our December trip yet either. Now that the CP is going to be 2 TS credits it is not a good plan to use it for that. We are going to go to V&A and won't be able to use it there. I think, at this point, if we were to get it at all we would try out the new QS plan instead. But TiW is still our best bet, I think.

I also don't know what to do about the DDP in November. The first 6 days are AKV concierge...so we for sure are not doing it then. The next 6 days are at BWV...and my original plan was to get the DDP. I find myself obsessing though as to the best way to use it (get the most bang for the buck) and I'm not sure it's possible with the 5 of us. :confused3

Good morning. :)

Marci - How exciting going to WDW on an adult trip. Go to Jellyrolls!

Well, while I was standing in the shower this morning I ran through the numbers for having plain DDP added to our AP room. Since we would have to use 2 TS credits for Yachtsman it would basically be using 2 days worth of credits for that one day. 2 CS meals, plus dinner. We would break exactly even on the food it would cover, and we would have to pay OOP for any appetizers and tip. Not to mention DS would have to order from the adult menu. So, NOT a good deal for us.

If we do 2 signature dinners and a buffet we would come out ahead buying a new TiW. If we do Coral Reef, Yachtsman, and Crystal Palace I think having the TiW would just about break even. Hmmm...

I can't keep up with all of your calculations Elizabeth  When you analyze if it makes sense for me..let me know :rotfl2:

Well, the question is whether or not my calculations are really accurate. I suck at math!

It seems with TiW we would save between $6 - $25. If we have any wine or cocktails we would save more. Our savings would also increase if we do a TS breakfast on our departure day. So I guess we will plan to buy a new TiW.

But you will also be spending more. ;)

Kristine - I'm with you. It makes my head spin.

I just planned out my color coded matrix of fun for January. Now I know when we will be where and I'll let the kids help pick the restaurants. I know they want to eat at Crystal Palace. I also emailed IPO for the Sunrise Safari. I'm so excited that we will be doing that on my birthday!

Elizabeth/Kristine - do you know if there is a discount for the safari for AP holders or DVC members?

Janet-poor Riley!:wizard:Hope he heals quickly!!! Can't you do something fun for his bday when he's better-just do a cake on the actual day?

We will have cake tomorrow, just not sure what else he will feel up to doing. At the moment I am suppose to be getting Labor Day weekend off, so hopefully we can do something then.

Janet - I'm off until Monday too! Let's party!

I stopped at Redbox on my way home and got The Haunting in Connecticut. Anyone seen it?

Enjoy your long weekend!

Garrett & I watched this movie last week. I thought it would freak me out, but I did ok lol Did you watch it?

Tammi...I don't remember there being a discount. I could have blotted that out of my mind though.

We just got home from the kids new school orientation & meet the teachers. Both schools seem great & the teachers were very personable & enthusiastic. Everything I heard so far I like & the kids (even Katie) love their schools already (thankfully).

Daniel was put in a class with gifted kids who learn at his rate but will have gym, art, & french with the kids from the other classes which I like. Sophie & Katie get to take french too. (only spanish was offered at their old school so they excited to try something different) If they learn well we'll have to plan a trip to Disneyland Paris!:rotfl2:

School here starts Tuesday & now they are all excited.

Learning French would be very handy if staying in Paris! That was the only place during our Europe trip that did not have things posted in English as well(nor did they care to speak in English either). But at DLP everyone speaks English :thumbsup2

Glad the kids are happy with their new schools!

Tammi,
Have fun planning!!! What are your Jan dates?

Debbie,
Happy birthday to Brandon!

Janet,
Hope Riley is better.

Marci,
Yay for an adults only trip!

Kristine,
Great news on your mammo.

Elizabeth,
I try to do calculations like you but I think I have given up..my head hurts. My new way of thinking is I will do the DDP unless we book concierge, then we will just use TiW. October we are doing the DDP but next summer we will not (hopefully we will be booking BC CL)

Thanks! It was a relief to finally see the school & their teachers...soooo different from their old schools in many ways & for the better.:goodvibes

Janet -- I hope Riley is feeling better. Enjoy your time off!

OK guys. I need help! It's my turn to pick a trip to celebrate our anniversary. Randy did the 10th, and it's my turn to do the 15th. We usually do Vegas and that's all I thought we could afford, but AA has great fares to MCO now and we got a good rate on the hotel, so we're off to WDW for MNSSHP! I'm very excited! I've gotten so used to having kids with me that I've blocked all the adult-type things out of my mind. It's just a short trip -- 3 nights. I want to try Victoria and Albert's. I also want to do tours that we can't take kids on, like the Segway. Any other ideas?

Also, does anyone have any Halloween designs? I've never paid attention to those since we never thought we would be able to go that time of year.

Thanks Marci, he is still very sore. I really hope by Monday he is feeling much better!

Your Anniversary trip sounds like fun! I have no advice, just enjoy :yay:

So we MIGHT be going to Disneyland in February! Dana will be in LA on business. We have 2 free tickets from US Airways & Danas ticket is paid for so we'd only pay for 2 airfares. We have Marriott points so this may work out. Just in the planning stages though...hopefully things will be ok with my mom & overall so we can go.

Enjoy your long weekend!

Yes, I did. I thought it was okay. I really wanted to watch Doubt, with Meryl Streep, but they didn't have it.

I'm glad things look good for school! What a load of your mind, I'm sure. When do they start?

Tammi,

6-10. A short trip, using fewer points. My plan is not to go to WDW next summer and save the points for a really nice December trip. Think I can hold out??? ;) I'm aiming for a cruise in the summer.

I love that i can check in with you guys this time when im away!

Well another successful day in Arlington. We relaxed and went to the pool for most of the morning/early afternoon. We decided to walk to the stadium and stopped to grab dinner on the way, since we figured it woudl be too expensive once we got there. We had great seats in left center field for the Rangers game. We were right near the bullpen which was pretty neat. Rangers ended up winning! We got back to our hotel, jumped in the pool, and now here I am :)
(I am updating pictures on facebook everynight--my family wants to see, so in case you want to check them out!)

Sounds like you are having a great time Jen!
