Good morning, DDA!!

Anne Marie - I love your pictures. I have vague memories of Williamsburg from when I did a road trip from OK to DC, Virginia and Boston with my grandparents. I do remember really liking it though.

Jen - Good luck at the dentist today.

Deb - Hope Colby enjoys summer school. That middle of the day things will be rough though, timing wise.

Elizabeth - Don't forget a hat!

Anne Marie - Loved your pctures. They remind me that we haven't been in a couple of years and it is time to go back!

Thanks!

great pictures anne marie!

The dentist is over--I apparently have a very small cavity. I have never had a cavity before-ugh! So thats something else to be done before I go away.

We're off to work on the bathroom at my grandmother's house. Hopefully it will go smoothly today.

That's what I'm thinking too. The last time I was there was several years ago, at Christmas time, for their Grand Illumination.

Anne Marie- Love the pics!

Janet- I hope the next 2 weeks fly by!

Jen- Sorry about the cavity.

Tia- Hope you enjoyed your morning alone!

Deb- Good luck with the bathroom remodel.

Elizabeth- How was the sun?

Lu's bite looks a lot better. It's smaller than it was yesterday and she seems ok.

Well, I had a nice morning. I had a leisurely breakfast at IHOP while reading my new Mousejunkies book. After that, I went to a few stores looking at computers. I picked up a daughter who wasn't ready to leave church so I'll definitely have several mornings to myself this week. Woohoo! Of course, one of those will be tied up with a 2 hour meeting, but better than having to drag Terra long for that.

I think we're going to get a computer from the Office Depot ad this week. It's is 640gb hard drive, 8gm ram, 20" hd screen, quad core processor for $600 after rebates. I've tried to build something similar on several sites and am getting prices closer to $900. So, I guess this is what we're going for. After the rebates come back, I'll go and get a bigger external drive as well so we have room to back up both computers. It will be so nice to have a reliable computer readily available to me as opposed to my dad's which is slowly and painfully dying or Phil's which is upstairs too far from where I need to be most times.

And on the job front, I have several long-term leads, but hopefully something for the immediate time will come up. Our neighbor is having a baby in January and will need childcare as of Feb. She was excited to find out I did so and at a rate she could afford so I'm pretty sure we're set for that. Then, I friend with a 10mo girl just moved back to town. He's doing freelance work right now, but will also be looking for something permanent. He's going to be in touch about having me watch his little girl when that comes about, plus maybe some for freelancing. And a friend at church has a friend who may need before/after school care for her kindergartener in the fall. So, hopefully one or two of those will work out in the long run. Now to just take care of now, though word of mouth seems to be working for me.

Tia sounds like a productive day. Computer and Employment prospects :thumbsup2

The bathroom is paneled and the trim is up. I did some touch up paint too. The only thing left for me to do is chaulking, but that won't be until late tomorrow. The house is actually looking good. Most of the big stuff is done and Mom is working on cleaning her way through. Of course my uncle decided in his infinite wisdom that he should rip down the drywall in the entryway so now that has to be rehung, mudded and sanded. That dust should effectively get all over the cleaned areas of the house  We are letting him do that one all by himself :rolleyes1

does anybody wear Merrell brand shoes?? I had tried some on Friday because I am in desperate need of new tennis/walking shoes and loved the feel for the 5 minutes I had them on for but balked at the price ($90) so I decided to look online and there is this pair that I just ordered that is a lot different than what I tried on, but cheaper:

and wondered if they fit true to size.

ETA:

these are the ones I tried (they were $10 cheaper):

but I wanted a more all weather shoe

Robyn - I am glad Lucy is better today!

Tia - sounds like a great day around for you.

Deb - good work!

I have been reading along I promise but the DIS is whonky and things aren't much better here.

Janet- I hope the next 2 weeks fly by!

Thanks! Garrett called a little while ago, so at least I know they all made it safely "whew"

Glad to hear Lu's bite is looking better today.

I finally have my flight issues for August resolved. I was really getting antsy since I still needed return flights and the prices were not budging. I'm going to cancel the 3 SWA flights, which will leave me with $218 in credit (preferably for October ;)). I booked r/t out of Dulles on UAL, leaving here at 7:18 AM and leaving Orlando at 4:50 PM. That gets us back here in the evening, but not too terribly late. Plus it is more convenient to get to Dulles than BWI. I think the park-n-fly will be cheaper there too. So all in all I'm spending $45 more, once baggage is added in, but the convenience factor and times are worth it. That's a load off of my mind.

Janet - I'm glad you talked to Garrett.

Robyn - I hope the bite continues to improve.

Kristine - how are you? Haven't heard from you lately.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, it did turn out well but I'm totally exhausted. We were at the hall from 5:45 am until 7:30 pm, note to self, Do Not buy new shoes for an event that requires standing on your feet all day!

Chuck & I had a great time camping this week-end but we came back a day early so we could get some stuff done around the house. Friday was a state holiday and today was an unpaid furlough day. We spent three hours kayaking on Saturday. We weren't interested an any of the 4th activities. Disney has spoiled us when it comes to that.

I am heading to Marquette tomorrow morning at 5:30am to pick up some equipment that I need to deliver to Lansing. I need to get it there by the end of the day.
