Well, my quiet night went down the drain tonight. Kristi asked Rachel to babysit so that she and Chris could go to the movies (Transformers and Harry Potter apparently so it will be a long night). They left our house to go to theirs and then we left for Target and dinner. Kristi called just as we were wondering why the stop lights on the main road to Target were out. Kristi's house is without power so she was bringing Rachel and the kids back here. Since the movies won't be over until 1am or so, I told her they should just spend the night.

On the plus side, Target was open even with the outage and it resulted in us saving $3. They said it was for the inconvenience. Heck, I didn't feel inconvenienced, but I'll take the savings. Followed that up with some yummy BBQ for dinner and now we're home watching So You Think You Can Dance and I'm working on photo organizing.

Dinner tonight is at my Great Aunt's house - pork and cabbage and dumplings - yum! And I have pick up my car...I think I'll be running slightly late but there should be food left by the time I get there.

Are you staying there soon? I'm so excited to stay there. It opens on the 4th and we check in on the 6th. What are the chances that we will be the first people to occupy the room we get assigned to?

Thanks for all the comments on the dress, I made that one, the one my oldest has on, and four others like it for that wedding, even though they weren't in it all the nieces dressed alike in peach and took pictures with the bride. My mom and I made her cake, it was huge, the base was a sheet cake that measured four feet in length, on top of that were two two tiered round cakes with a bridge between the two over a fountain. There was a small "top" cake in front of the fountain. I even made bridesmaid dresses for the girls on the cake. I'll have to dig up a picture of that one day, too bad the marriage didn't last after all that work.

Here's a picture of my colors for my first wedding, these are 6 year old twins who made a perfect pair for the wedding. I made her dress, the ring pillow, and two of my bridesmaids dresses, that marriage didn't last either, I guess I'm bad luck,

Good morning, DDA!

I was in a decent mood until DH decided to start fighting with me over the banking FIVE MINUTES after I got up. Stupid DH.

I will say AGAIN how I am sick and tired of handling ALL, and I mean ALLLLLL, of our finances while he sits back and gripes. He has no idea what bills we have and how the funds are allocated. He just wants me to SHOW him the online statement so he can see his deposit (he has direct deposit and now that he is back on commission the amount changes), then if he sees any of my debit card transactions he makes snide remarks. Guess what? I have a JOB! Not only is some of this money MINE, some of my debits are work stuff that I will be paid back for!

The $10 ATM withdrawal yesterday was because another mom picked up lunch and I paid her back! It is on my expense report. But DH doesn't care about any of that - he just wants to jump down my throat about how *I* used the ATM and if HE uses the ATM I get mad. I tell him all the time if he needs cash to go to the ATM, but he is too lazy. He would rather debit 50 things over the course of a week and then call me when I am busy and tell me he debited $3, and then $2, and then he put gas in but he can't remember how much it was. Then he brings me WADS of receipts so I can record all of it.

So it is somehow completely WORTH IT to him to pick a fight with me at 5 AM? Of course that woke DS up, so DH IMMEDIATELY starts harping on him, too. It is going to be a very, very long weekend.

Elizabeth - I feel your pain. So much so that 6-7 years ago we did the following: We opened a second account that is Bob's alone to use. I have debit cards and access to the account, but I never do ~ except to deposit money into it every time he gets a paycheck. He gets a pay receipt at work so he always knows how much his paycheck was for that period.

90% of our arguments over money have now stopped. He still has no idea about what bills we pay or even how to go about paying them. I handle all our finances too. I think of myself as the CFO in this merger. I am also the CEO, but he doesn't know that...
