DDA chapter 21

I need a little input. Our preschool currently has a full class of 3-year olds and 5 more on the waiting list. I suggested running a half class with 5-7 and one teacher (me) at the same time their are two additional teachers in the building teaching a very small 4-year old class. The building is tiny, so we'd be very close in case one of them needed to float over to my class for a while. The director is interested in discussing this plan. The church is cheap, and I know that the first concern is going to be money. As long as the tuitions can cover it, do you think that I am justified in expecting the same pay that I get for co-teaching a full-size class of 12-14? If we were going to run a second full class, I am sure that we'd both expect to make the same amount of money.

You would get paid the same amount here, no matter the amount of kids. The church needs to get it's tight grip off it's pocketbook.....they need to see the opportunity to make that extra money.

Can you believe I'm still trying to put all the photo albums back together from the slide show? I did come across a couple of pictures of my youngest DD as the flower girl in my SIL's wedding in 1991. The blonde sitting and looking at her is my oldest, I made both of the dresses, back in the day I made them dresses for the holidays and made their cheerleading outfits, I haven't sewn anything in years though, it got to where it cost more to sew than to buy.

Very nice. Wow you can sew. You could give Tom a run for his money

I would expect the same if not more, afterall you'd have ALL of the responsibility.

I got this in an email and wondered who was reading my mind? :lmao:

Forgetter Be Forgotten
My forgetter's getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

For when I'm 'here' I'm wondering
If I really should be 'there'
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say 'what am I here for?'
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say 'Hi' and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, 'who the HECK was that?'

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that just ain't no joke.

Lets see who else can I ask about?

Anyone know how Stephanie is doing? Its been a really long time since she has posted, but I am sure she is busy too.

Yes she is doing good. She had a stomach virus thing going on for two days with a fever, but she is back at work and looking okay. We will go out for lunch and I can get all the good details!!!

I think you should definitely get paid the same. You would have full responsibility even if the class is smaller.

Good morning/afternoon, DDA!

Not too much going on with us today. Just some basic errand running, etc. Oh yeah, and the dreaded lawn mowing. It's supposed to storm later today and tonight, maybe tomorrow, so that definitely has to be a priority today. Blech! Maybe, if I'm lucky, Phil will have slept some more by the time I get back with the gas can and will want/sacrifice himself to do it for me. One can dream anyway...

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Yes they are. That must have been the color back then. I was a flower girl too when I was young and the dresses were peach as well!

I'm not sure whether my July 1973, wedding counts as "back then" or maybe I was a trendsetter! But my bridesmaids wore peach too.

Beth - You should get the same pay. Period.

It is HOT here today... I actually turned my AC on for the third day this summer.

We are going to see Harry Potter tonight! :teeth: And dinner will be at the new Irish Pub here in town. :yay: (Based on Tammi's recommendation :thumbsup2 )

I am glad that she is doing good. Please let her know I am thinking of her and giver her a  from me.

Elin have fun tonight.

I think John and Dawn are going to see HP on Sat.

Yep, probably. I would have been 6 in 73. That's probably around the age when I was a flower girl.

Yeah... rub it in... I am old enough to be your Mother!

How is Alyssa doing this afternoon?

I agree, Beth. You should get the same pay.

Anne Marie - Cute design. I like the one with the red oval.

Elin - have fun tonight! Nicholas just started reading the first HP book. Let's see how long THAT lasts.

Beth - Same pay vote from me as well.

Sorry.

She seems to be okay. Her temp was 99 something, but that could just be from the heat. She ate and now she is vegging in front of the tv. Thanks for asking.

It is hot today, isn't it? I have the AC on and that is highly unusual this summer. Tell Nicholas he can't go see the new movie until he finishes the book... ;)

Off to work soon... have great evenings, everyone! :goodvibes
