DDA Chapter 20

We came home, planted our new plants, hung the new hanging baskets (not nearly as nice as Tammi's are... her nursery has amazing flowers!)
Yes, but the ones I splurge on are $35 per basket! I did have a 20% off coupon for one item though. They didn't have the kind I usually get so I hope these end up being just as nice. I guess they were already picked over.

I love the game you found. I've been meaning to tell you, when my mom and dad were here they went to visit my cousin in Falls Church. Anyway, they are military and had been stationed in Europe. When they came back to the States they had tons of wine shipped home. So my cousin gave us a bottle of an Italian wine:

This was the best wine that I have ever tasted.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I've been reading along...but it's been a whirlwind here. So a blanket of 's and :wizard: all around. Friday night after the daycare kiddos all left. I tried to clean up as much as I could and made a jell-o salad (Thanks, Kristine) for our brunch on Saturday. I hopped in the shower and left here about 9:30pm..a quick stop at Target, then over to my cousin Marci's (Joe's sister) apartment. Joe came and picked us up at 10:30. We hit the road and picked up our other cousin, Wayne, and his friend, Mike. We made it into Baltimore around 11:15 or. The funniest thing of the entire evening is that we went clubbing in a mini van, :rotfl: Joe parked around back from the club. :confused3 Met up with one of Joe's friends and had 2 drinks before we left for the dance club. The dance club has a regular and karaoke bar attached to it. We had planned on dancing but Joe's friend went and scouted it out. Came back and said it was too scary to even go into. Apparently, the dynamics have changed drastically since Joe had last been. So we sat at the bar and had a few more drinks. It was a great night out...learned lots of stuff (stuff I knew, but was never confirmed) and enjoyed hanging out with my cousins. We used to spend lots of time together as kids and with the exception of Joe, all live no more than 20 minutes apart, but now see each other only on holidays and birthdays. Got home about 3am:eek: The alarm was set for 7am. Needless to say, it was 8:30 before I dragged my tush out of bed.

My family showed up at 10am. And believe it or not, we were all ready to go. Thanks mostly to Eric's hard work and my mom's helping hands. I was pretty much useless. After a few cups of coffee and some Motrin, I felt human again. Brunch was a lot of fun! And I am so glad Joe came to visit. Everyone left here around 1:30 or so. Emma and I went out for a few hours as my mom kept Mo & Lu. Eric went into work for about 5 hours. It was a movie night as we all saw Star Trek, not together though. It was fabulous!! I LOVE JJ Abrams' work. It was so good we may have to see it again. Lots of great previews~ Night at the Museum 2, Angels and Demons and GI Joe.

Today we got up early and headed into Annapolis for breakfast with my parents, sister, niece & nephew. Had a great time and ate way too much food. We stopped at the "Swanky Target"~ it has a 2 level parking garage and an escalator for the shopping carts (the girls thought that was awesome). Came home and got Lu settled down for a nap. I quickly changed my clothes and headed back out the door with Gail. We went to Allyson's grandmother's memorial service. Gail and Allyson's aunt are friends. It was a very moving service, so sad on Mother's Day. I was so proud of Allyson, she got up in front of everyone and read a poem, she is all of 7. When I got home, Eric was working in the yard and the girls, Em & Mo, were outside playing, Lu was still napping. I headed out onto the deck with a book and soaked up some sunshine. It was glorious!!! Mo came out and had a tea party with her imaginary friends. It was so nice to hear her chattering away. She insisted I keep reading my book, which was very nice of her! Once Lu got up from her nap, I took the 3 of them and Maya R (yes, she is one of the "mean" girls from GS's) to the park for a bit to play and have a picnic dinner (PB & J's and fruit). We had fun and Em & Maya got along well. They have played outside together most of the day. I think it did them good. Once we got home and got cleaned up we all sat down and watched the 1st episode of the original Star Trek series. I see my daughter turning into a Trekkie!! :scared1: After that they all went to bed. Eric and I re-watched the episode again as I couldn't focus on it with Lu and Mo still up. I am now headed to the corner of the couch with my book to read for a bit more.

Have a great night.

P.S. I will tell you all a bit more about the GS incident, but it will have to wait for tomorrow.

Sounds like everyone had a pretty good day!

We went over to mil's after work & cooked out. Just got home & I am tired.

Have a great evening all!

I am curious... is it a little sweet? Dolcetto sounds like it would be sweet, but that game taught me that there is a LOT about wine I don't know yet!

I am glad you got your flowers. They are always gorgeous, so I am certain the ones you ended up with are far better than we can imagine! :goodvibes

No, not really. More dry than sweet.

The grapes used to produce this wine come from a vineyard called "SIRI" situated in Roddino d'Alba.
The wine is firstly matured in small oak casks for approximately 8 months, then in stainless steel vats for approximately 3 months, followed by further bottle ageing.
Deep, ruby red colour with evident purple reflections; highly aromatic, fruity scent of cherries and blackberries.
Full-bodied, harmonic and slightly tannic on the palate making it a very appealing wine with a lingering finish.

I was just coming to post that I found out more about it. Sounds yummy! I will have to ask Ashley if they carry any at kybecca or if she can get any!

Yes, I'd like to know where I can find it locally!

So far I can't find that exact winery, but I have found many Dolcetto di Albas... mainly at Total Wine. kybecca has one only.

I have a jammed packed day ahead of me. I'm only working until 9 this week as I have a bunch of appointments this week. Today I need to get the van registered and inspected as well as getting insurance. From there I need to squeeze in lunch before our 1 PM IEP appointment for Colby. The boys get out at 2:30. We need to run them home and get them changed, then run them to their lacrosse games. They are playing at 4 PM and 5:15 PM in a town not too far from here. That should put us back home in time for them to get to bed.

I hope you all have a wonderful day

Does anyone buy kids clothes from the Disney store? do the sizes run small, big or true to size?

I find that they are mostly true to size with the boys clothes running slightly larger or more generous cut. The girls tee's seem to run small(er).

Good morning!

Mother's Day was so relaxing as it was just us 5.:goodvibes

Hope you all enjoyed your day.

******UPDATE 5/11/09******
I received a PM from one of our wonderful Disney Dining CM's who said that they are launching the online Dining Reservations for Travel Agents TODAY!! They hoped that it would go well and that it'll launch soon for the general public. We'll see in the next few days/weeks how this works out and keep everyone posted.

Good morning, DDA!

I had a nice Mother's Day - donuts, nap, mall, dinner at PF Chang's. :thumbsup2

DS has his appt. with the neuropsych this morning.

So, I got one ADR made today. I should have been able to make 2, for our first 2 nights at BLT. For whatever reason, the CM that I spoke to could not find my BLT ressie, so I could make my first night's dinner ADR at Pucks. Now at 9 I need to call DVC MS and find out what the deal is with my ressie. I can pull it up on their website, so I have no idea why the CM couldn't find it. Unbelievable.

Well that worked out for the best. MS was able to fix the issue AND make ALL of my ADRs for me, even thought it's a split stay.
