DDA Chapter 20

I just ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses for DS from Zenni Optical. $18 total, including shipping! I hope they work out. If not, we'll call it an $18 lesson! It was kind of tricky to measure the different dimensions of the frames - the temple arm length confused me. The lens and other measurements seem close to the glasses he wears now, so we'll see! His current glasses don't have a sunglass clip so I figured we'd give these a try. Hopefully they will be good enough for WDW so he won't have to squint the whole time.

I have two pair of prescription sunglasses from their for about a year. I had no problems or issues. I will probably order a pair of regular glasses as my prescription did not change.

That's good to know! I didn't want to order plain glasses for him from there because I want him to wear the "good" ones. When I bought good ones and cheap back-ups last year he ended up wearing the cheap ones.
I made him wear old ones to Six Flags and he got mad - griped that he couldn't see, blah blah blah. It's always something.

I have been trying to sort out his clothes. I started washing some of the new shirts I have stockpiled. I have 2 that the logo is off center, so those are now demoted to wearing at home or to the pool or whatever. One was a chep clearance shirt from Ross, so not a big deal. The other one I can't remember where I bought it. The new shorts I bought him at Gap are lined, so they came out of the dryer all wadded up. They will have to be IRONED! :scared1: The second pair are going back to Gap. And the polo I bought should have been the next size up. I am really not very good at this anymore.

Happy Mother's Day!

I am still working on mine,(I call Sunday). Can't decide if we want to do Citricos/Jiko/Cali Grill. Our problem with "signature" dining is we don't like to go back to the room & I do not want to go into on of those nice restaurants looking like a sweaty wet rat with fuzzy hair. :scared:. I am trying to plan a pool day where we hang at the resort & come freshly dressed to any of the 3 I listed...But I know us, I don't think we could spend a whole day NOT in a park....so I am still thinking it out.
I see you've already made your ADR's but Joe & I did a 5:30 adr at Cali Grill from the parks. I forgot to put a brush in my bag that day so I went to the gift shop and bought a $7.00 Minnie brush so I could freshen up a bit in the restroom before we went up. It worked out fine and we were not alone in park wear at that hour.

How about morning in a park, afternoon at the pool, showers and then dinner! :thumbsup2
We did that too on our Narcoosee's day but we did DHS, then AK, then swim, then shower, then taxi to GF for 5:30 adr.

Welcome Home Bernadette, I must have missed your post, can't wait to hear all about your trip.
Thanks-didn't miss any post-I can't post without catching up first.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mother's Day. We got up and went to church, then some errands. I got my hanging baskets, Elin. ;) Then Bob took us out for linner at the Melting Pot. Yummy, and tooooooo much food! The kids got/made me some beautiful presents. Now I'm enjoying the quiet, as Bob went to pick up Bethany (her mom was in town for the weekend) and my kids are outside playing.

We had a great trip. Thanks to Kristine and Elin for the Sun Ray recommendation-great service-would use them again!:thumbsup2 AKL was nice (I still like Poly!). I think I have to stay there with Emma. I did enjoy CL-and do enjoy turn down service. Joe LOVED it!!! We didn't do any of the children's activities except a medallion rubbing (the big ones on the lobby floor) on our last day. We walked over to Kandani for dinner one night and then checked out their pool-really COOL!!!!! IPO had left me a very nice bday gift in the room at check in-that was really nice! We LOVED the Sunrise Safari-I would stay AKL CL again just to do that.

We had really HOT weather! High 90's and humid. I can take that better in August when it has been warm at home but to go from 50's here to that was really rough-it was exhausting! Thankfully no rain-not when we were out anyways.

The crowds were manageable (we were always there for park opening) but I would say a bit higher than prior years for the same week. I saw a lot more school trips this year which surprised me with the flu scare. I also saw/smelled lots more hand sanitizer.

We had about 200 photopass pictures taken-let me know if you want a link. We had our photo taken almost every night in the AKL lobby. They did some really wonderful shots of Joe on those shoots! They said they do it at GF but we didn't see them-must be on the 2nd floor and we didn't go up there and they said they do it at Poly too but I never saw them there the week I was there with Lizzy.

I took a few thousand photos that I need to go through-over 400 on the safari.

I'm exhausted and in a funk. I told DH I wanted new wipers for my bday (the trip was my real gift). He bought them but didn't put them on and we really could have used them last night. I guess I shouldn't complain as he's doing it now. He hates buying gifts-does better with a list than subtle hints so I told him he could get me a new small TV for our bedroom for Mother's Day as that one is dying-the sound is lousy....he said he did some research but didn't get one yet. No card either.

I've been fighting all day with Joe over homework-he had a 1/2 day when we were gone and a field trip another day so he really missed 3 1/2 days of school. His teacher gave him over 100 pages of homework and 75 spelling words. He only did about 10 pages on the trip. He could do a lot of it quickly if he'd just do it but he's dragging out every letter. I'm not very happy with him. I told him he can't go outside or have anything we bought at WDW til it is done.

Quick drive by post....

Happy Mother's Day to all of my DDA friends. I really miss you.

My Mother's Day was way better than I could have ever dreamed it to be. Both of my childen, my much loved DDIL and all 4 grandkids. What could be better than that??:goodvibes:goodvibes

Happy Mother's Day everyone.

My family ended up going out for Mother's Day. I ended up staying home as I feel like crap. Not sure why, I have a stomach ache and headache, plus my allergies are acting up.

I hope you had a good weekend.

Sounds like most Moms had a good day today. I started out the day mowing the front lawn (I wanted to do it so it was done right ;) ) and then sat on my patio to eat breakfast. When Kristin got up she made the ultimate sacrifice: she stayed outside with me all day long! :yay: She HATES sitting outside in the sun or the shade. :confused3

We went to Lowe's and I got 5 of their $4.95 hanging baskets and another pot for my leftover annuals. Kristin got some herbs and a pot.

We deemed it "Hat Day" and wore hats! There is no picture of me, but here is Kristin and her friend Ashley who came along with us since her Mom wasn't interested in having any celebration with her DDs. :confused3

We went back to one of our local wineries (it looks a bit different now that the leaves have come out on the vines!)

After their tasting we bought some wine and cheese and crackers and sat out near the vineyard and played a new game.

We came home, planted our new plants, hung the new hanging baskets (not nearly as nice as Tammi's are... her nursery has amazing flowers!) and saw this:

The only thing better would have been to have Kathrin with me. But she called and texted twice today so that was nice. She said she wishes she lived closer so we could spend days like today together. I agree with her 100%! But I am NOT moving to Boston. :upsidedow

I hope you all had as nice a day as I did.

We had a wonderful day. It was by no means hot, but we were comfy in pants and sweatshirts. It was a bit windy, but it didn't ruin our day of fun. We arrived at opening and hit all the coasters first, with no wait. Then we mixed in some of the non thrill rides. We went to the Mother's Day buffet lunch. There was tons of good food, including Prime Rib and cake. Yummy. We had done everything we care to do by 4 PM and then let the kids play a couple of midway games. We ended up with 2 basketballs and a stuffed Scooby Doo on a wired leash. Not bad considering we only spent $10.

The Blitz Experience was 1/2 price today and Chris and Nick have been wanting to try it. My Dad ended up paying for them to do it, mostly because he thought that they would chicken out. They loved it. Of course Colby and Nick then had to do it. I paid for them and they let the 2 of them go together. I haven't uploaded our pictures, but here is one from the web.

That tiny ball above the cranes is the metal frame that they were strapped inside of
