DDA Chapter 19

Oh, Vicki... I don't envy you at all. Have you discussed this in great detail with Chuck? Does he understand that a move is most surely in the the future? Could there be a similar position for him whne that move is made?

Yes, Chuck & I have discussed this. The concern isn't whether he can get a job. He didn't like living downstate. When we moved to the U.P., he wouldn't cross the bridge to the LP for some time. He was very unhappy in Holland. He has decided that the problem was living downstate. He was a different man when we lived there but we were just starting out, the girls were born down there, we lived in a duplex in town, I went back to school at night, and his job was stressful. When we returned to the U.P., I got my husband back.

Poor Abi has the nasty cough and cold that is going around....and just in time for spring break.

We went out tonight to find a jacket for Cassidy's prom dress....JcPenney had their VIP sale....so for what was left on my gift card we got her a cute jacket (tux style) and a purse. So for less than $50 we have her prom outfit...she has promised that she will take a picture tomorrow so her DDA aunties can see her.

She went with her friends today to find their dresses, they found traditional (something my child will never be:lovestruc) ones....for more than 3x times the amount. :scared1:

I love being a cheap skate sometimes.

Hello It's been a strange day with no cyber outlet to occupy my time. I guess it is a good thing that I had to work this morning.
The boards couldn't have gone down at a better time for me. With my mom here we've been very busy so I haven't had much computer time.

Yesterday we shopped, talked, napped, ate, and watched tv. Today she helped me do some landscaping since the weather was so nice. We planted a cute little Japanese Maple tree in the front yard. Right now it looks like a Charlie Brown tree, but I'm hoping after the leaves come out it will be perfect.

Prayers for my MIL. She had a biopsy on Wednesday. We found out on Thursday that they found cancer. She is having a lumpectomy on Tuesday. Her spirits are good. She is getting stronger every day.

what a week!! Prayers being said.

We have the Motorola W755
w755_main_promo.jpg

They work well for what we need, small and dependable. We do not text so a keyboard is not important. We don't have internet access through them either.
I have this and am not thrilled with it. I like my old LG better.

So does this mean we can't ask for prayers for anyone or anything anymore? :confused3:rolleyes:

no, they won't regulate those....that was one of the things the potstirrers was nit picking on.

I don't think they meant anything to that extent. I'm sure it is discussion of which religions are better than others, who believes what, etc. I can't imagine that they are banning the request for prayers. If someone doesn't believe in prayers, than they can ignore the post. If they make some statement about not believing in prayers, then they would be discussing a banned topic.

sounds like great grown up girl time. :goodvibes

I went out and bought a new suit yesterday. It is a traditional style suit but in a light grey color. I really like it. I forgot to bring something down from home (I stayed here this week-end). I have to try it on with my black shirt to make sure it looks good together. Otherwise, I'll be off shopping again tomorrow night.

I need some advice. The interview for the job that I've been acting in since October is on Wednesday. I will only take the job if I can get it worked out that I can work 1/2 time here and 1/2 time in the U.P. until things with my MIL are worked out. My boss wants me in the position enough that he is willing to consider that if I'm the top candidate after the interviews. It is a state job so has a very thorough review process. However, the plan would be to eventually move down here full time. I don't know that Chuck is up to that.

We lived down here for 6 years. However, we made the mistake of living in town in a duplex. Chuck needs to have some land around him. He needs nature. I love the U.P. but I have been unhappy in Iron Mountain for some time. I never really wanted to live there but moved there because that is where the job was for Chuck. I told Chuck before I got this opportunity that I wanted to look at moving to a different community in the U.P.

I don't know if I can go back to doing my old job. I love working in Lansing. I love the work that I'm doing. It is possible that if I take this job there will be more promotions in my future which will mean eventually I have to work down here full time.

This really has me torn. I have always followed Chuck for his career. I'm feeling like it is my time for once. However, Chuck is the love of my life and I don't want to make him unhappy.
I don't have any advice for you. You and Chuck will have to talk this through and come to a decision that you are both happy with. Good luck to you.:wizard::wizard:

I hope whatever she has doesn't stick around long. :wizard:

Oh, Vicki. Such turmoil. When you are Lansing can you take time to find a really good Realtor who can help you look for the perfect community for you two? I am sure things have changed in the years since you lived downstate. I bet there are some planned communities (for lack of a better term) with acreage that would make a good compromise. Is that something Chuck would agree to?
