DDA Chapter 19

Oh, Vicki. Such turmoil. When you are Lansing can you take time to find a really good Realtor who can help you look for the perfect community for you two? I am sure things have changed in the years since you lived downstate. I bet there are some planned communities (for lack of a better term) with acreage that would make a good compromise. Is that something Chuck would agree to?
Good idea. You are going to have to work this as business proposal for Chuck. Come up with a packet of info, a spread sheet, visual aids (not literally, but you know what I mean). Put together all the pros for living in the LP, and why it would be different and better now than it was in your previous life together.

We need to look for farm land. There is lots of it within 1/2 hour of Lansing. We don't need a planned community but an old-fashioned one. There is that as well.

I'm just not sure I should expect this of him. There is a side of me that says I have moved for him 3 times for his job. Plus I took the job with the state so that he could follow his dream of owning his own business. I did NOT want to be a tech which is what my job was when I started with the state. It was an ok job but definitely not my dream. So in a sense, I feel it is my turn. Then the other side says that I shouldn't expect that of him because he has always let me follow my dreams while we followed his jobs.

Oh and I do NOT want to live in Iron Mountain. If I go back to my old job, I'll be asking him to move to another community minimum once things are resolved with his mom. I love our house and I have two best friends in Iron Mountain but there is nothing else in Iron Mountain that really holds me there.

No posts or blog updates from Jennifer. I hope everything is okay with the Avery and Elise. :wizard:

I am finding that whole "clumps" of posts are missing and then I see the quotes that you all are making. That is when I know they weren't there. When I click on the link back to the post they are there but not when I was on that page originally.

Well, I think I am off to bed. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow and need to be well rested. I need to start preparing for the interview as well.

I'm going to head to bed. It's back to work for me tomorrow. Blech.

Same is happening to me but I've always went back because this happens infrequently to me.

Bernadette great job on the t-shirts. Walt & Mickey is my favorite :thumbsup2

Deb sounds like a busy week for you all!

Bernadette - The shirts look terrific! Good job! :thumbsup2

Terry - your kitchen looks wonderful! WTG, Hal!

It looks great! :)

Prayers for my MIL. She had a biopsy on Wednesday. We found out on Thursday that they found cancer. She is having a lumpectomy on Tuesday. Her spirits are good. She is getting stronger every day.

Good thoughts for MIL! :wizard:

The boards couldn't have gone down at a better time for me. With my mom here we've been very busy so I haven't had much computer time.

Yesterday we shopped, talked, napped, ate, and watched tv. Today she helped me do some landscaping since the weather was so nice. We planted a cute little Japanese Maple tree in the front yard. Right now it looks like a Charlie Brown tree, but I'm hoping after the leaves come out it will be perfect.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend with your mom!

I don't have any advice for you. You and Chuck will have to talk this through and come to a decision that you are both happy with. Good luck to you.:wizard::wizard:

Ditto!

Man, I missed my milestone!

Well, congrats anyway!

Before I go for the night, I did want to add that Chuck has encouraged me to take this job if it is what I want. He wants me to be happy. As always, he is encouraging me to follow my dreams and will support me in whatever decision I make. I don't want anyone thinking that he is anything but supportive in this (except for the idea of him moving down here). He is willing to live apart during the week if this job is what I want. I would never expect him to move down here as long as his mom is alive and needs him.

Am I wrong for wanting this is the question?

I think you deserve to be heard, Vicki. And I think you need to have all the info on hand when you talk to him in earnest. There has to be some common ground. Bob and I owned 10 acres outside of Gettysburg a number of years ago, within a planned community. It had restrictions that we found protective since we wanted to raise a family there. It had originally been part of a farm/orchard which backed up to a ski resort on the other side of the mountain at the back line of the property. It had all the markings of farmland but was residential. We loved it and were very sad to leave it and the potential of building on it.

I actually sewed today for my trip. All 3 applique T's are from ideas I got on the disboutique.

You did a great job! I love the eyeball. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone, after almost two years, we have new cabinets in our kitchen.
Beautiful! Hal did a fantastic job!:wizard:

Tia, thanks for asking about Stephanie. She is feeling better, finally! :goodvibes

She has been posting sporadically on facebook and things seem to be OK.
