Oh, and as I was going through some of my old memory cards for my camera I found this picture of Leighanna 3 years ago.
She looks like she was either mad at me for taking the picture, or she was taking a serious golf swing! Oh, why does she have to grow up so fast?

She's so cute, I always loved the picture you used to have in your signature, she was really little and standing up sipping a drink.

We had the dining plan when we rented points in November and didn't have to purchase the ticket, we had AP's but nothing was ever asked. I'm sure one of our DVC owners can verify this but I don't think it's necessary.

IMPORTANT: New policy regarding politics and religion

----------------------------------------------------------------

We have worked hard to keep the DISboards a place where people can discuss any topic as long as it's not illegal or profane, and as long as the participants can behave respectfully. Unfortunately, politics and religion often seem to bring out the worst behavior in people. Even normally polite posters find these topics pushing their hot buttons, and frequently lose their cool.

This past election season has been especially bad, and the rudeness and sniping between various groups has alienated posters and exhausted our moderators.

As a result, we are announcing a new policy on the DISboards, effective immediately: POLITICS AND RELIGION are no longer acceptable topics of discussion here.

This also will extend to signatures: no political statements, logos, or slogans are permitted in signatures.

Posts and threads of a political or religious nature will be locked or deleted, and are not to be restarted. We will also be updating our site guidelines to reflect this policy.

There are many sites on the web that welcome discussion and debate of a political or religious nature, but we feel that removing these topics from the DISboards altogether is in the best interests of our members. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

I had a wonderful time with my friend at dinner. We sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks and then just ate there too. Afterward we walked all over downtown and stopped at a coffee shop and talked even more. Four and half-hours later I am home! It was like we had just been together last week instead of spanning a 5 year absence.

Sandy and I are talking about trying to fit a Girls' Weekend in at some point. We took trips to WDW without our families for 6 years and even did two trips where 4 families who had met on the internet went over Christmas. We talked about the weekend being at WDW like in the "old days" but I just don't see how we can do that. She just finished her CPA exam and has one child left at home who is a freshman in HS. My teaching schedule is tough to work around too. Maybe a weekend in DC would suffice!

The only bad thing is that I missed the concert I had intended to go to this evening. One of my former students was playing a Ravel concerto and I had so much wanted to go see him. But I never even looked at my watch until it was way too late to get there.

I just don't get it. Not all of us on here agree with each other but we keep it civil and allow the differences to take a backseat. Of course, it hasn't always been that way, I guess. Sad that we can't all just get along, as sappy as that sounds!

The dynamic of our thread is different. MANY of us have met in person, we exchange holiday cards, we know each others' real names and the details of each others' lives. We aren't likely to get into an all-out, name calling war over something because we are friends.

The anonymity of the CB allows people to say things to each other they wouldn't dream of saying to a friend or co-worker. They say it because they CAN. And because a lot of them are trolls who are purposely trying to start a fight.

One thing Stephanie and I agreed early on was no politics and religion. We had so many other things to discuss and we knew we each had strong feelings and it just was not necessary.

We can get excited about anything Disney!!!!!!

What I love about the new policy is that the exact ones who like to stir the pot are stirring it on the announcement thread.

Elin-sounds like a lovely day, except the missing of the concert.

I had my blonde moment of the year today. We have a bathtub that is always draining slow so I decided since I had to clear that bathroom sink I would do the tub. It completely stopped draining no matter how much de-clogger I put down it....6 hours later and after draining it by hand....I realized that sometime during that time the drain closer had been closed and was actually working. The funniest part is that drain stop has never really worked properly until today.

Theresa, glad your drain is fixed. I am getting to the point where we are going to have to call about our bathroom sink - it almost overflows if I run the water long enough to wash my hands.
