DDA Chapter 19

:woohoo: We close on our new house at the end of this month.:yay:

The people who want to buy our house are giving us some bother. Now let me preface this with the fact that our house is waaayy below market value so we could get it sold fast. The house across the street sold for $100,000 more than ours is going for. Even withthe market downturn we are still underpriced for the area comps.

So anyway, they want a "credit" for a new oil tank. We had the oil tank inspected before we put the home up for sale. All in working orde,r no leaks yadda yadda, and we have the inspectors papers to prove it. So they want to take a rock bottom priced home in a great area to lower it even further. Dana's company won't allow the price to go any lower as it is not "reasonable" so it's not even on the table for us..but jeez, if they can't afford this house go find another one! Stop playing games already.:headache: Thank goodness we can take the company buyout & just be done with all this. I am hanging on til the end of June til schools out & then we are outta here... and I don;t want to move again!!!!:headache: Ok maybe to Orlando someday!:rotfl: :lmao: :thumbsup2

Anne Marie - I am sorry the buyers are being petty.
My mom saw a house she wanted. It is listed for $90K, and it started over $100K. It has been on the market for awhile. She thought she might offer them $60K for it, because she can afford that. I was MORTIFIED. I told her she would NOT offer them $60K. She thought about it for awhile and finally decided not to do it. Thank goodness. :sad2: Talk about wasting the seller's time.

Chanon - I was thinking one would probably be the Dream or Dreams, but then I just saw a commercial that some other cruise line just named their ship the Dreams, too. Oh, well! So much for unique names! :rotfl2:

(It's the one where the guy is smelling everything because it has "New ship smell.")

Both ship names that Disney chose are also Carnival ships. But names aren't "licensed" so there is really nothing that either line could have done...I assumed it'd be Dream as well...Fantasy doesn't really do anything for me. I would have thought something along the lines of Imagination or...I'm not that creative at 5:15pm...

She truly must be exhausted. She thinks I should put Alyssa on birth control for going to the school nurse!!!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I was/am exhausted. I even came home an took a nap this afternoon.

I'm glad that you have your closing date, but I'm sorry to hear about the potential buyers. It sounds like you need to pass on them and hope that another offer comes along.

Colby has gone out to the sugarhouse. Apparently they have started boiling. I'm in a bit of a fog today. Tomorrow morning I am supposed to start training to teach the new swimming lessons program, we'll see how that goes.

I am glad that you have a closing date for one house.

Now to find grown ups to buy your house.

Well, I get to continue the conversation with Cassidy about her relationship.

Jim wanted to say something to her without me there. :scared1: The man seems to think he can pick and choose when he can be a parent and after the fight he chose to pick with her this weekend, I can just imagine what he would say. :headache: :headache:

I'm throwing a game night/dinner in May...I'm trying to come up with a main "meal" to cook but not pasta. I have appitizers planned (mini ruebens bites, s&s meatballs, marinated antipasto and veggie platter). Does anyone have any suggestions - or should I just tack on some more appitizers??

I like the idea of various appetizers for a game night. I think it fits with the various and changing activities. Love the idea for a buffalo dip, maybe a few other dips ideas.

YEAH for your closing!!! Hope the buyers for your house knock off the trouble and just deal. Otherwise, :wizard: that a good buyer comes along right behind.

I hope that your headache went away.

Unfortunately, it hasn't. It has ranged from minor pain to major ouchiness since the minute I woke up. On the one hand I've had a lot less caffeine lately so it could be that, but then when I stood up from laying on the couch it hurt so bad and I was so dizzy that it might be sinuses. Who knows?!?!

Good luck with that! It's probably the one part of the growing up process I'm not looking forward to. :grouphug:

I saw that too. Hilarious! I realized who she was talking to almost immediately but it threw me for a few seconds.

One of our favorite things for get togethers is to grill a beef roast and pork roast. We then slice it and serve it with rolls. It's a great finger food but is a little more than an appetizer.

I thought they would be Dreams & Wishes...I don't like Fantasy..sounds to sexy for DCL.

Thanks everyone regarding the closing. :flower3:

The kids want to go to Universal Studios and Sea World sometime. They mentioned it tonight. I hate to disrupt our Disney trips by going to other parks so maybe we'll have to make a non Disney trip.

we were discussing this last night...We will go to Universal for a few nights before the huge trip next year and Abi was hoping we would go to Sea World again. I am going to see about it.

Chanon-you can't take too much time off after your munchkin is born, I've got way too much to book:rotfl:

Cassidy had no clue that we saw her and Josh last night.....she turned a beautiful pink:rolleyes1 I made sure she knew she could come to me to get the bc before our timeline if she needed to. (I told her to wait at least a month, the relationship is so new)

I keep thinking she is so dang young and then I think back to when I was that age:cool2: :lmao:

I'm hoping to work as LONG AS I CAN prior; I'd love to not have to go back the week before or of Thanksgiving. So I'm hoping for 12/1 as the date to go back.

I think I have plenty of appetizers for 20 people now!
Hot Options:
Mini Rueben Bites (with Thousand Island dipping sauce)
Sweet and Sour Meatballs (half grape jelly, half BBQ sauce)
Buffalo Chicken Dip (with celery, crackers, and french bread cubes)
Cold Options:
Marinated Antipasto and Cheese Platter
Veggie Pizza
Red Pepper Hummus (with crackers)
Most I can make a few days prior - hummus, marinated stuff, meatballs, pizza crust and ruebens) and then just finish things up the day before.

Congrats on a closing date! How nice that you'll have a while between purchase of the new house and when you have to get out of your old. Hope that buyers smarten up but good that you can walk away if you have to.

Crap. I missed my 19,000 post! :headache:
Congrats! You'll be a 20K soon!!!

Joe went a field trip to a sugar house today. Good luck tomorrow!

Hope you can find some relief for that!
