GOOD LUCK VICKI AND JENNIFER!!!!

Thank you Tammi!!! I'll tell you about it after I've read a few more pages.

Yesterday morning we set the alarm for 3:40am (which with the time change is actually 2:40am). Well actually, we set the alarm for 3:40, asked for a wake-up call at 3:40 and I set my blackberry alarm for 3:40 am. I was not sleeping in. We met another DISer and her father at the lobby for the taxi at 4;30am. The taxi driver had serious issues figuring out how to get to Epcot with all the roads blocked. We finally made it to our destination at 5am.

I had purchased the Retreat Packet for myself and the Platinum ChEAR squad package for Chuck. This meant that I got access to a tent before the race and Chuck had access during the race. I went in and hung out until it was time for us to head for the start line at 6:30am. Mind you, it is a 20 minute walk to the start!

The sound system was bad so I didn't know when the race officially started. We just all started moving and eventually got to the start line. I was in the last corral. I ran by myself. This works best for me. When I got to mile 1, the clock showed 28 minutes. I hoped that I had crossed the start line at least at 13 minutes but had no idea. When I got to mile 2, I was at 42 minutes so I was on track for less than 15 minute miles which was my goal.

We ran from Epcot to/through Magic Kingdom, and back to Epcot and around the ball. I was never concerned that I couldn't make it the 13.1 miles. My only concern was whether I could make it in the time frame.

I averaged around 14.12 minute miles. I was quite happy with my time. My only concern was the bottom of my feet during the last 3 miles. I was concerned that I might be getting a blister. Luckily, I did not. If I decide to run any other races, I'll have to try some different socks or something.

Welcome Home and Well Done!!!:cool1: :cool1:

I started to cry when they placed the medal around my neck. I'm still not sure why. Like I said, I never really questioned whether I could do it. I knew if I trained for it, I could do it. I think it might have just been that I finally did train for it after thinking about it for so many years.

As part of the packages that I purchased for Chuck & I, it included breakfast for us after the race. It also included a massage for me which was fantastic. Afterwards, we went back to the room, I took a shower and another nap.

We had paid for the Pirates and Princess Party that was cancelled so they created a Happily Ever After Party. I would have asked for a refund but Chuck wanted to try it out. As I suspected, it was lousy. Only had a few attractions open. They did have a Beauty & the Beast show and a special Fantasmic for party-goers. They did make up for it by giving out a complimentary gift when you left for the night. The complimentary gift was a series of Lithographs - one for each park. They are beautiful. We ended up with 2 sets since we both attended. That made the money for the party worth it.

Well, mine have gotten the lecture that unless your arm is falling off or you need to have surgery, DON'T GO TO THE NURSE ANYMORE.

My girlfriend thinks that what I said was horrible. Mind you, she is single with no children.

I know I can come here and you all can relate! ;)

You know how I feel about this! If the child is not running a fever, throwing up, bleeding to death or has a bone sticking out of a limb the nurse has no business calling the parent. They need to be sent back to the classroom to "suck it up" as you said! I am glad your ped. will write that prescription for you! :thumbsup2

Vicki, I'm so proud of you and Chuck. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm home. It has been an exhausting couple of days. Friday, my sinuses started to act up. They made running quite interesting. Chuck and I ran the 5K on Saturday. We caught a cab at 5:30 so were up at 4:40. The race started at 7am. We hung around and checked things out. We ran around Epcot World Showcase. He beat me by almost 2 minutes. Mind you, this is his very first race EVER!!!! He is more the hockey/football player type. I'm quite proud of him. I did maintain less than 14 minute miles for the 5K.

Afterwards, we had breakfast with Becky, Jennifer, Kyle, Elise & Avery. We had a really nice time. I got to hold cute little girls at once. I'm hoping Jennifer will post the picture of me holding both of them. Becky and I got to hold the girls for most of our time together except when they were eating.

Chuck & I then went back to our room and we took showers, I took some sinus meds and we then took a nap. My sinus medicine wiped me out and I slept for 4 hours. We were supposed to make a WISH meet at POR at 4:30 and I just couldn't wake up to get there until 6pm so I missed it.

We then took the boat ride to DTD and then the one to Saratoga Springs. We were in bed by 9:00 (but changed the clocks to 10) so we wouldn't miss the half the next morning.

Welcome home, Vicki! We are all very proud of you and Chuck!

We had the inspection on the NC house Friday & got the report yesterday. Only minor issues need to be addressed.:thumbsup2 We gave our realtor the list of 4 things we would like the seller to repair & we are waiting for that response.

Our buyers had their inspection of our house on Saturday. That report should be coming in today or tomorrow. My house was built in 1948 but it is very good condition but I am sure the inspector has to find something.

It was a beautiful weekend. We took Daniel & Sophie to the park. They had so much fun running around & playing with the other kids. Katie sat on a bench listening to her ipod.

Dana mentioned taking his mom & mine on a cruise. He spoke with his mom last night & he is sad that she is getting older & not in good health with her diabetes. He said time is ticking & we should do something with them. His mom wants to go back to Italy so I priced the 11 night DCL Med cruise. Over $10,000!:scared: for one cabin! Hmmmm, I can't see that happening!:rotfl2: We'll have to figure something else out. I think its very sweet of him to want to do this for her (& my mom) considering all the rotten things she has done to him & continues to do. (too much of a long story) lets just say she is a pip.
Good luck with inspections and with traveling with the pip!:wizard:

That sounds like a good plan. I would like to have my ticket on a separate card too. Room key and Dining on one makes sense since they would expire at the same time.

I am also toying with the idea of purchasing tickets through Undercover Tourist again and upgrading those after we use the first day. They really have some good discounts through Mousesavers' emails and you get full WDW value for the ticket regardless of what you paid for it. That would help budget a little better too. The one day MYW tickets left on our room keys would then be usable for the girls at Christmas.
Good luck getting anyone to remove the tickets from your room key. I was able to do it one time but haven't found anyone who will do it since. I was getting very testy with the CM checking me in at the Poly and figured I better settle myself down as she hadn't given me my room assignment yet. I ended up leaving the unused 1 day tickets on the room keys. And I didn't have DDP at the Poly. In August 2007 we were on DDP & I wanted to upgrade Lizzy to an AP and was told I had to wait til last day which I did but we still used DDP after doing the upgrade.

Good morning, all! This time change sure has thrown me for a loop. I couldn't fall asleep last night, and getting up this morning wasn't easy. We were just getting to the point that it was light outside at 6:00 am, and now it's pitch black again. I really wish I were a morning person like I was when I was a kid.

Miles is sick and won't be going to school today. He has had a fever and cold symptoms all weekend. I was hoping he'd be better today, but his temp is still 100 axillary (the thermometer was making him gag). Matthew has a similar cold but not as bad (and no fever).

A friend of a friend told me that there is a listing for a library assistant at the elementary school near us. It's a full-time position. I need to get a resume ready, because it sounds like a good opportunity to move up into full-time employment. I know that I should have an up-to-date resume, but I don't. That's what I'll be working on today. There will probably be hundreds of applicants, but I need to at least try. Being in the school system will give me similar hours and breaks as the kids, and the commute is minimal. If I could get this job, I would have less worries about helping with college costs, and I could go to WDW in August, 2010.
Hope Miles is feeling better!
:wizard: Good luck with the library position. Sounds perfect for you!!!

Wow. My kids wore shorts to school today!
Mine wore snowboots-we only had a couple of inches of snow today but that still a couple too many.

China is China. It was nothing specatular to me. I'll be the odd one out with saying when I ate in Mexico last, two out of three of us enjoyed the meal...they got steak - I got the "real" mexican food and it was terrible. So if you go, eat the steak. I've eaten in Morocco and Bob and I really enjoyed that one. There was only one part of the meal we didn't like but there was enough food to make up for that. You can also ask for a quieter table which is what we did and it wasn't too bad. We ate in France in December (right?) and the food was great. We'd do that one again.

Morning DDA! :wave2: It finally stopped raining here after 3 days of nonstop rain. My sump pump needs a break (and I need some sunshine)!
I'll stick to steak and Joe can get a kids meal. I thought about trying to talk him into counter service but he really wants to go there. Good excuse to get some snacks in France or Norway bakery if it bad.

We have been getting phone calls at least daily from the following phone number: (904) 259-4351. They are offering reduced credit card rates or wish to speak to us about our car warranties. We are on the Do Not Call Registry and we have asked them to stop. They hang up when you request that. I have filed a complaint with the FTC against them. Any of you having this problem too?
We get those car warranty calls all the time too but I don't know the number.

I know you'll never believe this, but I have an actual T-shirt question. I'm getting ready to do some shirts for our upcoming trip, and need to know where to get the best dark iron on transfers. Anyone? We ordered some off ebay last time, and they were ok, but made the shirts really stiff where the design was. Any suggestions?
I was going to say that Avery makes some that stretch but I just looked on the Avery site that they are for white T's and not 100% cotton. I haven't always had good luck with dark transfers.

:woohoo: Congrats to you & Chuck!!!:woohoo:

How cool that you got to meet and hold Elise & Avery!

Here are the pictures that Chuck got of the mini-DDA meet on Saturday.

Yay! Isn't that a great feeling, finishing the half? It's a really great feeling when you realize you're going to make it without being swept! Congratulations!

We caught a sight I don't ever want to see again....Cassidy making out (hopefully that's all) with her boyfriend in his car. :rolleyes1

I swear every time I think Jim is the one who is going to kill me, Cassidy will do something to one up him. :scared1:

Here is a picture of me with my medal at Hollywood Studios before the Happily Ever After party.

wonderful pictures, Vicki!!:goodvibes

Cassidy seems to have shared her illness and my tiny nap this afternoon did not help so I am headed off....Abi and I will play a game and I will try and find a book that isn't going to bore me out of my skull.

These are great! I got kind of teary eyed when I saw you and Becky holding Elise and Avery. What a great memory!

Don't look now, but I think Cassidy is growing up right in front of you! Seriously, though, I don't think I ever want to see my girls making out. Too icky!
