DDA Chapter 19

Thanks. I need to find a nice doggie urn or something, and figure out where I'm going to keep him.

Tammi, when we got Champ cremated, they gave us a nice wooden box with a lock, key , and everything..along with a little poem about people and their pets--it was actaully very nice

I am exhausted. Emma's friend Lily came home with us after scouts last night (her dad met up with an old friend for dinner and asked me to keep her after scouts) and didn't leave til close to 10:30. He told me he'd be here by 9:30pm but he ALWAYS runs an hour behind, so I knew better. Emma and her enjoyed hanging out together watching their show, Doctor Who.

Today is Eric's birthday so he is off for the day. He plans on spending it at the doctors with Emma. She is still complaining that her ear hurts. If she still has an ear infection she's had it since the week before Valentine's day. I hope that's not the case but I doubt it. Eric will then go and get tires on the van. Sounds fun and exciting, huh? And to top off the excitement, his sister comes into town for the week. She's here for training and is with out the kids and DH. I hope we manage to avoid each other for most of the week!!!

I think the girls and I will bake him a cake a bit later. Cake is always good.

Have a great day!!

:faint: :faint: Nah, I would love to take a trip there with just Eric and I so we can just soak up the atmosphere and sights.

We never do commando touring, but this last trip was even slower then normal and it was nice. Heck our 1st day there and we didn't go to any park.

Well, my charge's Daddy finally came home today. He's been out of the country/town since Thanksgiving weekend due to his mom's illness and subsequent passing. Considering that she's only 8 months, he's missed so much. Anyway, she is going to spend tomorrow with him and we have 70 degree weather coming in. Woohoo!!! It's looking like we're packing the day with Chick-fil-A breakfast, the zoo, and some Ted Drewes frozen custard. Terra is very excited as we haven't been to the zoo, or any big outing like that, on our own in awhile. Heck, I'm excited too!

I hope you have a super day, Tia! Enjoy the time "off" and the glorious weather. :goodvibes

Good morning. :) TGIF!

It's amazing. All that snow that we had on Monday is COMPLETELY gone from my yard. Temps then were 27. Today it's going to be 66, and 80 on Sunday.

I am glad it is Friday too! The snow is not completely gone from our yard yet, but our wonderful temps today will certainly take care of that. I hope it also melts everything left in the parking spaces downtown!

And as a shoot off of my last post, did I tell you about our 1st day?

Wednesday we got 2" of snow which is no big deal but it also came with sleet. We got up at 2 am on the 19th and was on our way by 2:30, got to the airport and no one but a few security and the cleaners were there.

Our fight left Allentown on time - 6 am, got to Philly knowing we had an hour layover. 15 minutes before time to board, got an announcement that the plane we were to use was having engine trouble (did I mention we flew US AIR) so we had to wait.
After 15 more minutes we were told that they were grounding that plane and we need to move a to a new gate, off we all go to the new gate and are told they needed to recheck everyone. They finally figured out they didn't need to recheck everyone just a few and started loading the plane.

Make it to Orlando and find the very long ME line, make it through that and walk over to where we are to line up and wait for the bus. Worker tell us we are in the wrong place and he moves us, turns out the worker was wrong and we almost miss the bus to the resort :headache: then we have to drop off - OKW, SSR, POFQ (our resort) and POR.

By now be are very hungry and very tired, check in and get upgraded to a king room for free (things are starting to look up). Get settled into our room and run to the food court for a bite to eat where upon it starts to pour. After eating we go back to the room to just rest a bit and our luggage is delivered. At 4:30 we go to Downtown which is packed, so we grab an ice cream from Ghirardelli and then back to the resort. John logs into the internet, I grab a relaxing shower and we are in bed by 9.

The rest of the week was uneventful, just plenty of park hopping and lots of picture taking. John did decided to wait 60 minutes for Soarin, and as I waited for him I actually struck up a conversation with a stranger. :scared1:

Bob took this as I was getting ready to go out the door. Everything went smoothly. I think I was just at peace with it. As I said, the hardest part was making the appt. Once I got past that, I was more accepting of everything. I'm having the private cremation, so I will get his ashes in a week or so. Elin, they were wonderful at the Clinic. Plus it helped that they knew Shane, so they were kinda sad too. Or else they are very good at empathizing. :confused3

Ah -- what a cute pic. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Good Morning.

I decided to get up a bit earlier this morning as I want to assess the kiddos before I leave. Colby slept in our room last night and he slept much better than the night before so I have my fingers crossed. Nick was 100% yesterday and Hunter was very hoarse, he kindof sounded like Froggy from the Little Rascals :rotfl:

I hope they are all better this morning!

Last night John called about a resale for OKW, so I am getting the only choice I ever had for DVC.

Congratulations!

If we were ever to buy DVC, Heidi, a resale at OKW would be my first choice. :yay:

Good Morning,

Tammi - I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy

Wendy - Welcome!

Jennifer - How is Virginia doing?

Deb - Glad to hear everyone is starting to feel better

Heidi - Congratulations!

Chanon - Thanks for the info on Janet, we don't see you often enough anymore :sad1: Glad you're not having problems with morning sickness.

Tom - hope all is well with you, we sure wouldn't mind seeing some more Leighanna Disney pictures :rolleyes1

Steffy - I had to laugh when you posted about Snuggies, my DD laughs at the commercial every time it's on

Well I survived the latest round at the dentist, I had a little trouble driving home though, my left eye was numb, talk about a strange feeling.
She did have to "surgically" remove it, so it feels like I have this huge gaping hole in my mouth. I haven't let the pain meds wear off yet, and I don't plan on letting that happen today either.

Good Morning DDA!

Tammi, so sorry to hear about your pet.

Heidi, sounds like a rough start to your vacation!

Elin, your condo looks nice! We have thought about vacationing at the OBX, but haven't yet!

Happy Birthday Eric!

Robyn, congrats on the weight loss!

I weighed in yesterday, and dropped another 5 lbs. for the month. Not bad considering I had a WDW trip in there, and I haven't been really good the last week or so.

I got my PhotoPass CD in the mail. Hopefully I can start a trip report soon.

Wow, Heidi! For you I know that was a big step. :thumbsup2

Your trip sounds very quiet and relaxing, for the most part. And the upshot is that you decided now was the time to buy DVC! :goodvibes

I am glad it is over for you, Debbie. I know how much you were dreading it. Hope today brings you even more relief.
