i wouldn't mind trying it...i have had bad luck with iron ons...the prob is, to do multi-color designs, you have to separate each layer...and that could get awfully costly

not to mention which body parts you would get to dye!!

I loved silkscreening in HS.

Yes, with silk screening it's best to stay with a max of 3-4 colors, and even then it's expensive. Plus, I'd probably ruin the last layer that I put on every time!

Anyone doing the cabbage & corned Beef today?

Of course! Our dinner will consist of corned beef and cabbage, colcannon with bacon, Irish soda bread, and "pots 'o gold" (lemon jello cut into cubes).

I learned lately that corned beef and cabbage is purely an American thing. In the early 1900's, when there was an influx of Irish immigrants, they couldn't afford more than the poorest cut of meat which happened to be corned beef. They would stretch the meal with cabbage to make it last several meals. In Ireland, you would never eat this meal at all! I learned this from an Irish lady I visited with on the plane from JFK last year.

Does anyone know, is an AP just like a MYW ticket, in that if you are 9 when you bought it, it still is valid for the year? Nicholas needs one for August but turns 10 in December. I'm sure that's how it is, but I just want validation.

Yep, he can use it for a full year. We did that with Hunter.



Colby and Hunter are still both running fevers. All 5 of us have the cough. Colby's nose is still running too. I made it through the day today and I'm hoping to make it through the night. We are having corned beef and cabbage as a special at the restaurant tonight so who knows if we will be busy or not. I just hope the night goes quickly.

Jennifer - You'll figure out the shopping without the car seats pretty quickly. I do have to say, though, that for a while, I just found it easier to drop them off at my sister's, or to go shopping when Alan could watch them. There was a period of time when it just wasn't doable to shop with twins.

Deb - Enough of the sickness! I hereby banish all sick germs from Deb's house! There, I hope that helps!

Stephanie - Sounds like you are having a great vacation. Wish I was there!

I am going to ask or prayers, pixie dust or whatever you want to give. Gary told me a couple of days ago that about 2 months ago he noticed a lump & he has blood in his urine. He says he did not tell me because he did not want me worrying during our trip

I was able to get him in to the Dr. today & he is scheduled for a cat scan tomorrow. The Dr. said it could be 3 things, infection, kidney stones, or a tumor. Of course we are hoping it is one of the 1st two.

I know in my heart it is nothing serious(or at least I keep telling myself that). Please send the good thoughts & prayers for good test results.

Now who feels selfish after pouting about the trip not going as hoped

Laura's synchro club is hosting the regional meet in May, and I've been playing around with designs to use for t-shirts, program covers, etc. I've done 1-color, 2-color, and 3-color designs, because we don't know yet how much each will cost to do. This area is known for its 6 old carousels that are in parks and are free of charge. So, I went with a seahorse for the swimming and made it look like a carousel horse to highlight our area. On the 2-color and 1-color designs, the seahorse will be whatever the shirt color is. Any suggestions or changes? Start all over? Thanks for any input! I haven't shared these with the club yet.
