DDA Chapter 17

Hi, everyone! Sounds like most of you had a great time with the Superbowl. Congrats on all the weight loss last month! I'm very impressed with y'all.

Becky - I'm sending good thoughts for your mom, even though her procedure is over. I hope that she's doing well and can come home soon.

Deb - I'm glad you checked on the job. At least now you know it won't work for you. I hope your sickness goes away. I had the scratchy throat last night, and today, it's turned into a runny nose, so I definitely feel your pain. I'm not even sure what I can take for it while I'm nursing, so for now, I'm not taking anything.

Anne Marie - Sophie's party sounds like it will be so much fun! Any new offers on the house?

Robyn - I hope your headache is gone, now! I'm with your girls on the Whole Grain pop tarts. What's up with that????

Theresa and Beth - I hope you guys get out of your funks pretty soon! I think we need spring around to give us all a lift!

My kids didn't have school today, so I've had a houseful! Luckily, it hasn't been too bad. The trip to the museum on Saturday must have inspired them, because they spent all day yesterday putting together their own museum. They put together exhibits, and gave tours, etc. It has carried over today, and they are now working on a gift shop.

I'm glad that they've gotten along well today, but I'll be glad when they are back in school. I need that time!

Here's an interesting one for you...

Laura came home from synchronized swim practice on Saturday and told me that the other girls on the team were talking about getting everyone together to take photos in their swim suits (all one piece) to make a calendar. She was extremely uncomfortable with the idea and didn't get what they were planning to do with the calendar(s). She said that everyone except for her and the youngest two swimmers thought it would be a lot of fun and a team-bonding type experience. The girls are 14-17.

Laura doesn't want to go and is planning to tell them she is busy that day. I told her that she could also use me as an excuse, too, if she wanted to.

What do you think? I'm glad that I don't have to make the decision, since she doesn't want to do it. It could be fun, I guess, but it seems a little off to me.

Thanks, Glynis!

That sounds like a lot of fun, and very creative! Miles had a library running for quite a while, but he hasn't done anything with it lately.

I don't think I would want Katie doing that so I would say no. If she doesn't want to do it then even better.

Congrats on all the weight loss, sounds like everyone is off to a great start.

DD just called and the Doctor has moved her C section from the 20th to the 17th, and told her he wasn't sure she would make it that long, she has started to drop and is dialated 2cm's, I told her to have a talk with the baby and tell her to stay put until the 20th as I had already scheduled my vacation for then. princess: princess:

Beth - I guess it depends on what sort of "vibe" they want for the calendar. If it is a "sports" vibe then that's one thing, but if it is a "Sports Illustrated" vibe then that is something else entirely! :scared:

How exciting!! Lots of good thoughts for DD, her new princess: , and for you!

:wizard:. I hope the headache is gone by now.

Deb I hope you feel better

Robyn I hope you feel better

Thanks, I feel much better!!

Congrats to everyone on the great weight loss!

Robyn, I hope your headache is better.

Anne Marie, the place you chose for Sophie's First Communion sounds wonderful!

Deb, I hope that the cold or whatever bug you have leaves soon.

I have spent the whole day doing nothing. I think that is happening too much lately and maybe why I feeling such malaise all the time. It's kind of a vicious cycle. I did finish a book and start another. Now I need to decide what we're having for dinner.

Thanks Beth. I hope you can get out of your funk soon.

I agree, just sports~ ok. SI~ eh, not so much.

Ditto!! I hope the little one will stay put til the 20th.pixiedust:

Yes.
They don't know if they are still considering WDW or not. :furious: They will have to discuss it and get back to me. Which means we have no resolution AT ALL. I am going to go forward from here as though they are NOT coming, and if they announce later on that they ARE coming, well, my plans will be made. :confused3

I think it depends on where and how the pictures were taken. But if she doesn't want to do it....I wouldn't force Laura.

Well, it seems that this Princess already has a mind of her own. princess: :upsidedow

I'm with you. I wouldn't feel comfortable with that.

Well, we are back from the vet....I wanted Pearl checked just in case she was ill. What she is for sure is BIG! She's 20 lbs. :scared: The vet agreed that better safe than sorry and we have her on $54:faint: amoxycillin for cats & dogs. Because she is so big she has to take twice the "normal" amount of the meds.....I see lots of burrito rolling and scratches in my future. :upsidedow He also gave us "diet" wet food as she could become pre-diabetic. He can't change her dry food because she and Dude share so she is going to be ticked to not be getting her favorite wet food and less of it. :guilty:

She hasn't stopped whining in almost 2 and 1/2 hours. :upsidedow

Anyone else waiting for the $1 hotel deal on lastminutetravel.com? There are threads about it on the budget forum.

Yes.

Really, now. I am so sorry. Just plan for the 3 of you and have fun!!

Your cat is almost as big as my 19month old!!! I hope Pearl adjusts quickly. pixiedust:

On my way home I kept thinking....Pearl weighs more than Avery and Elise. :upsidedow :rotfl2: :rotfl2: She looked so funny going out under the vet's arm for her ultrasound. If she got bigger he would have had to two arm her!.

So my Mom's procedure went well. They found no blockages. She is home. She needs to get her blood pressure under control as they are afraid it is going to cause weakening of the heart muscle. They think the blood pressure caused the wacky results on the EKG and stress test.

Her parents have a horrible history of heart disease. Her biological Dad died at 52 due to a heart attack. Her Mom is only in her 60's and has had a heart attack in her 50's. She has a pacemaker, and cardiomyopathy. Like 5-6 years ago she was told she had 1-2 years to live. Her heart is operating at about 10%.

I am hoping for lots of snow. But we will probably get hardly any. I just want one good snowstorm. What is the point of the cold weather, if it doesn't snow??:confused3

Hope you are all doing well!

Becky - Good thoughts for your mom!

Robyn - I am pretty much over it. If they can't make a decision in 2 months then I am finished waiting for them to decide.

Work was slow tonight, which I had expected. I still have a scratchy throat so I was happy to come home early. I'm also watching for the $1 hotel deal though I won't stay up any later than normal waiting. Some people have been refreshing their screens since midnight last night. I'm not that into it.
