DDA Chapter 17

Good morning, DDA!!!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday. I know we've got Steeler fans going. Anyone rooting for the Cardinals? I think that's the consensus around here since most of my family still really likes Kurt Warner. Terra just wants the Cardinals because that's her favorite baseball team. :rotfl:

We're all headed to Kristi's for the game tonight. Lots of chips, several dips, brats and burgers seem to be the fixings for the night. Plus, whatever Erin brings for dessert.

Speaking of Erin, she mentioned yesterday and she talked to her store owner and she's going to have most Saturdays off now. When she does work, it will just be for a couple of hours over lunch to bring the Cow out into the food court. Brendan will work late afternoon and evening so they won't need anyone. She didn't sound upset with me at all (anymore) and was actually very pleasant and sat and just talked for a little while. I think my pulling out stimulated a change for the better for her at work overall. Her manager agreed that they had gotten too far away from Erin's marketing work and that he really needed her to be doing that. Now she'll be doing more of what she was hired to do (marketing, etc) and less management/working the line, which I know she has been disappointed about for awhile. Maybe she'll see some good changes overall and things will improve at work for her.

Well, I've got a couple of dips to put together (pepperoni dip and buffalo chicken dip). After that Terra and I are headed out for a Mommy-daughter date. We're going bowling (43 cents a game in honor of SuperBowl) and then to lunch at Macaroni Grill (thank you MyPoints!). It should be lots of fun.

After that, it's off to Kristi's for haircuts and Super Bowl. Poor Robin's going to think we only invited her for the free haircuts. ;) Actually, it's just easier that way since we were already getting together. Now we don't have to figure out yet another time to get together.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm sure my boys will have pizza bites and things like that to snack on tonight. Chris can't eat that and stay on track so I'm making him a dish that he can pop in the oven when he wants it. I bought baked Doritos which are 15 chips for 2 pts. Hot Salsa which is a freebee. Weight Watchers fat free cheese which are pre portioned at 2 pts per packet. I also marinated chicken breast cut into strips in a buffalo marinade. That is 1 pt per ounce. I think I can make him a huge dish for 10 pts or less and he has like 30 pts per day so he can have Superbowl food and stay on track :cool1:

Where is everyone? I have to leave in an hour and I'm trying to procrastinate, but you guys aren't helping. I did get Chris's Superbowl casserole made, all he has to do is heat it up. I'm so dreading the staff meeting today. I'm sure it will be a lot of finger pointing with little progress made in improving the restaurant overall :confused3 I guess we will see. I think it is going to be difficult to air our differences, but still keep things positive overall. I really think that communication overall is the big issue. If we could get clear definitions for some things so that everyone is on the same page it would be amazing.

I can't wait to hear how all of you are doing. Your support here means more than you will ever know.

I know you will get those other 1.6 pounds off soon, Deb! :thumbsup2

I started WW on my own this week and am happy to report that I lost 3.4 pounds this week.

Tammi - I love your Steeler's logo!

I hope today goes better than you are anticipating, Deb.

Chris lost 15 lbs in January. He was pointing out that he doesn't have dunlop anymore :rotfl2: He still wants to lose 40 lbs which would put him at the high end of his ideal weight range.

I'm glad his dunlop is done gone! And I know he can do it! :thumbsup2 His dinner sounds great. WTG, Deb!

We are making chili with ground turkey and some "Jenny Craig" brownies with Neufchatel Cheese instead of Cream Cheese.

I am on my way to Lansing for the week. Probably won't be back on until at least tomorrow night. Have a great Super Bowl Sunday everyone!

WTG Chris!

I weighed in this morning. I survived the first month of my healthier life and managed not to get derailed at all. That being said I "only" lost about 7 lbs. My goal for the month was to reach 150 lbs, but I'm still 1.6 lbs away from that goal. At least I'm that much closer. My goal for each of the upcoming months is a 5 lbs per month loss. I also plan to start a regular exercise program on Feb 9. I'm actually very excited about this. I have to wonder if it will effect my weight loss as muscle is heavier than fat, but only time will tell. My overall goal for this year is to be in the best shape of my life by my 40th birthday in September. I've given myself plenty of time so i just need to keep picking away at that goal. At least I feel like I'm making the right choices and taking baby steps :thumbsup2

And your support means the same to me too Deb.:grouphug: Congrats on a great January!!! 5 lbs a month is a very reasonable goal & I know you will do it!

My WeatherChannel Desktop says it is the same temperature here in Fredericksburg as it is in Orlando! But we have the edge because it is :sunny: here and mostly cloudy there. :yay:

Congratulations on all the weight loss. Lose some for me too, please!

I'm tired. I could use another day off. We went to Mass, then to the mall. I wanted to get the kids each a new shirt because they have spring pictures on Wednesday. They always use some funky outdoorsy type background, so I thought they each needed a subtle, monochrome shirt. We stopped at Auntie Anne's for a snack, then headed home, dropping the movie at Redbox on the way. After we got home, there was a message inviting Nicholas over to a friend's house. Back out we went. Now I'm here doing laundry. I've got at least 3 loads to do tonight. Talk about procrastinating. Sometime I have a get a meatloaf in the oven, and go back over to get Nicholas. He told me he wanted to be home in time to watch the Superbowl.
