DDA Chapter 17

Good morning.

We are left with ice & slush & lots of flooding. :sad2:

Safe travels everyone facing snowy weather.

Morning, DDA!

I have to make this quick.

Theresa, my fingers are crossed for you! It sounds like a terrific environment to work in!

Ok, apparently everything else has leaked out of my brain for the moment.

Have a great day, DDA!!!

Theresa -- good luck with the job! :wizard:

We have freezing fog this morning, but it seems to be a problem only in one spot (fairly close to Elizabeth). My car is acting like it doesn't want to start. I'm praying it's the battery and nothing more expensive. I'll try to leave work later to get that checked.

Have a good day everyone!

Thursday - New Year's Day

We got up and left for the MK around 7:45. It was much cooler this morning, and we ended up needing jackets for most of the day. The MK was fairly quiet, and we rode a lot of things. We had lunch at Crystal Palace, and had great seats for the 3p.m. parade.

The boys loved our guide. He always made the silliest poses on the rides that take your picture, so the boys (and sometimes all of us) started joining in doing “goofy” poses.

After that, we used our snack credits (they were expiring today) in the candy store on Main Street, and went back to our hotel to rest some. I love taking a book down to the lounge and curling up on the sofa with a glass of wine to listen to the orchestra.

We got ready and headed over via Monorail to Chef Mickey’s. I swear this will be the last time I do CM on New Year’s Day. Last year we waited an hour with an ADR, and this year we waited 40 minutes. I was tired, didn’t feel well and was hungry! Randy has pronounced that this place has the best soft serve on property, so I guess we’ll go back…

I just talked to my dad--we ended up being at the firehouse from about 10 this morning til about 3..i then left and got him some dry/clean clothes and he was supposed to be work tonight anyway. He just called me and told me that 5 firemen were sent to the hospital--not too seriously injured and i know one is at least on the way home..but it was a bit freaky hearing about it.

I know they are still at the scene checking for hotspots--this fire has been going on since 10am! nw dad is there overnight..ugh

I hope that all of the firefighters are home this morning.

It is for an office manager/practice manager for this company: http://www.soulsticewellness.com/about.htm

I think I would love the job!! When I went into the office all three of them were sitting in the reception area..startled me....so I said "I am a little early"...they went around and introduced themselves and before I could get a chance to say who I was the lady co-director said "Welcome, little early":lmao: The male co-director said "Forgive the smart remarker" I said that's okay I like smarty pants. :flower3: I was happy to start off on a funny note.

Sounds like a good place for you. I hope the interview went better than you expected and there's good news coming your way by Monday.

I had such a great time tonight. It was wonderful to reconnect with everyone all together. I've kept in closer contact with 2 of the other moms through soccer and preschool but to have all 5 of us together was a lot of fun.

Christine, the one who lost her husband, is so together it amazes me. She said she has been so touched by the outpouring of love she and the girls have received these past few months.

Sounds like a nice night, Robyn. I'm glad to hear that Christine is doing well.

Good Morning. School is running as usualy. Why let 15 inches of snow slow you down? I need to get moving as we will have to clean off the cars and trudge through at least 6 inches of snow to get to them. Everything was shoveled or plowed out at 6:30 last night. Oh well, I'm sure the kids will be pleased at recess. I'm working a full day at school today so I probably won't be back on until after 3 PM.

And that's another difference than around here. If there was school, there certainly wouldn't be recess. Too many "hazards".

Good morning, DDA! Well, the snow has postponed our house looking until tomorrow. No more bad roads, just lots of unshoveled drives and walks and we don't want to track in too much snow in houses. Gotta see what houses I want to add to the visit list also since the Realtor thinks we have time for a few more.

I've also got to get some stuff done for Terra's birthday party. I remembered that there was some stuff from the Imagination Movers website that I wanted to order. Plus, I need to figure out what and where I can get something Charlie and Lola without needing to go the UK route (aka longer shipping time). Ack. I swear this party's going to sneak up on me and I'll be going crazy again at the last minute. (You know, like just about everything else. )

Another great instalment, Marci. You sure got some fun pictures.

Morning, DDA! :wave2:

Well, it seems that Craig has come around to my way of thinking ::yes:: We're now looking at May. Of course, it all had to do with the price of airfare is outrageous for March. LOL

I find the term "freezing fog" absolutely hilarious. I can't say it out loud without bursting into laughter. This is problematic in the car, because if they say it on the radio it makes me laugh until my eyes water. Then the visibility is even worse than it was with JUST the freezing fog.

The last time I looked at March airfare I think it was maybe $600 per person. It came down though, because the first time I looked it was $1100 per person! :faint: Not to mention that I was looking at the wrong week for Spring Break...

Good Morning, DDA!!

Today is our hockey game in a suite day....so I am getting excited for that.
Hopefully the icky storm is done for everybody and the weather will be nice for the weekend.

Tammi what a cute ticker :thumbsup2

and I'll agree to both of them:p ...awesome pics Marcia and Tammi that ticker is adorable:goodvibes
Thanks! It's not official yet, until I find out if the kids' dad will switch weekends with me. Have I mentioned how I hate having to ask permission to take my children somewhere! Once I get the go-ahead, I'm booking a friend's beachfront condo in NC. THEN it will be definite! I'm so excited. :cool1: We haven't been to the beach in about 4 years.

I've never heard that term before. Evidently we must not have it around here. What happens when fog freezes? :confused3

How exciting! Are you going today or this weekend?

what? You have never heard of "BEWARE OF THE POGONIP"
