DDA Chapter 17

Morning DDA!

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for us - the funeral is Thursday; looks like we are driving up Wednesday night to Detroit. Of course I have no long sleeve black shirts and I can't find my black sweater. I might have to make a run to Kohls.

I'll have to find a picture of the 2008 jello shots from Universal during Halloween Horror Nights...those were in blood bags I think... :rotfl:

Timothy is just adorable Glynis!

Why is it that school get's cancelled but not work?! Off to go get ready!

Good morning, DDA!

Nothing is icy yet, but the day is young! I think as the day progresses things are going to get ugly.

Drive safe and stay warm, everybody! pixiedust:

Becky - There is just something so very wrong about those syringes...:scared:

Tia - Enjoy your snow day!

Our district doesn't make a decision until 6 AM, which is just about the time they are saying things will start to get bad. DH said they may close the schools early, which will be a disaster. Tomorrow and Wednesday may be rather interesting.

Ours usually decides around 5:15am and then the phones start ringing. On occassion they will decide early, but sometimes they pay for that too. Like right now we only got about 1 inch overnight. Now, it is supposed to ice and snow all morning so it was probably still the right decision, but we've had several storms overtime that petered out and the early call was for naught.

I wonder the same thing sometimes. I did get a couple of work snow days in Boston a few years ago, but then we had 40" on the ground too. :confused3 ;)

I think I need to steal Elizabeth's tag. I made over 400 Jell-o shots for Joe's graduation party (with a hangover I might add, long story!!). I must have made 8-10 different kinds! :thumbsup2

So count me in for the Jell-o shot party!

I'm in! ;) Maybe Joe, Lindsay and I can give her a formal introduction...

Well I made my first $20 on Craigslist tonight!

Congrats!

For having a down day I actually accomplished a lot. More than I have in the last 4 days combined. 5 loads of laundry and 2 cleaned rooms :cool1: the bed is even remade. tomorrow I need to put a ton of laundry away as I didn't get to it today. I've even eaten today, not a lot, but some.

That is terrific! I hope you feel better today.

Here are two pictures of my kitchen-dining room. I have the same valance at the window over the kitchen sink.

This is my back door.

I could take two or three more years to finally finish the whole thing!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Oh my -- I LOVE the color!

Bernadette-have an awesome girls only trip!!! Can't wait to read all about it when you get back!

Ditto! I hope it is magical!

We thought we were ready to book the 6 night camping trip as Chris can get the time off and my parents are in too. I called SIL late this afternoon and apparently she doesn't know if she has it off yet. Her Boss is no longer her boss so she needs to talk with someone new? Hopefully she will know tomorrow. We will probably tack at least a weekend on the beginning for some beach time. We still need to decide on a coastal campground.

That sounds like fun. My boys would love to do that.

This guy makes me think of Deb, trying not to get hives.

Poor Deb! Jake didn't have any hives yesterday. We'll see how he does today.

Glynis -- Timothy is just darling! And I love seeing the rest of your cute kiddos!

Shelton has already decided to close. They don't have a certain number of days to be open since they are private, and didn't want the hassle of trying to get all the kids out by 11 or whenever things start freezing. Since kids come from many miles around, they probably wouldn't have had too many show up, as it would take them a while to get home.

I better get some things done here at work before I race back home.

I hope that everyone who is sick is feeling better. Have a good day everyone! I'll check in after I get back home.

Ditto!!

I so have that too. :sad1:

It's funny, but when I thought the twins were my last, I didn't go through this. I wasn't sad as they outgrew clothes, or anything. But with Timothy, I'm a blubbering idiot over every little thing.

Well, I was hoping for a little nap this morning, but of course this would be the morning that the baby arrived awake. Oh well, maybe later. Guess that means I should get moving, get some coffee made and get some stuff done. Catch you all a little later.

It's like eating jellied jello, with alcohol in it. Hence, the 'knock you on your butt' factor. :upsidedow

Since I don't particularly like Jello (hence the lack of knowledge in this area) I think I will pass. If it were still liquid I might have tried one, but not if I have to squish that stuff through my mouth. :crazy2:

the key is to getting 1 or 2 down Elin...after that it's all over!! :rotfl:

All our schools are closed, Bob and his car pool turned around and came home, I-95 is covered with slush and driving is "interesting" to say the least. But Kristin's bank is still holding its 8:00 training session. Bob actually offered to take her in and pick her back up at 9:00. I am betting he won't be so quick to offer when she has to go back to work at noon.

And I haven't made the decision about holding my 10:00 lesson. Since she is a neonatal nurse practitioner who works 3 twelve hour shifts a week she is driving up 95 from Richmond. I figure I will call her about 9:00 and see what she has to say. As for our school being closed... not my call!

That's like saying you have to get that first cup of raspberry leaf tea down before being able to stand it... :sad2:

Because you all were so kind last year to listen to my reveling in Patrick's success as a composer and performer I share this link for you if you wish to watch. It is a promotional video made for TV Guide. It is about the score for The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the majority of the video features MB Gordy. He is the percussionist who worked with Patrick all last year. He is also the percussionist for the Battlestar Gallactica scores you hear if you watch that show.

Well I missed Bernadette, hope she and Lizzy are having fun.

Probably subconsciously you knew you would have another, but with Timothy you definitely know he is your last.

Elizabeth get that latch hook in the mail. ;) I am almost finished with mine, and I started it Sat.
