DDA Chapter 17

Beth congrats to Laura. :cheer2:

How many Children are there? I can't see stickers being to expensive if you get them from the dollar store. I was at Big Lots once and saw over 300 with a book for $2.
Good luck with the book that you are making. :wizard:

Sounds like some of the DDA needs my help with cleaning. But of course I would get to finally see everyone. :scratchin

I definitely do, but I don't have much bargaining power. My kids are past the adorable stage, the weather is freezing, and I don't have any vanilla ice cream in the freezer. You could come to preschool with me...I have some pretty adorable 3 year olds there.

The potential buyer is still pushing to come to my house to make their offer.:headache: I told my realtor Dana could come to the realty office & they can offer it there. I don't need that type of pressure with my kids in the house. Sooooo stressful!!!

Someone wanted to show the house today but I declined...I was dying my hair (too many grays! ) & the house stinks!:crazy2:

Do I get to spend time with Terra?
My laundry is also done.

Sure! Mine is actually looking pretty good. I've got a load of whites to do next, but otherwise it is done including all sheets and towels. Oh wait, I didn't do Mom and Dad's sheets last week so I do need to do those. The trick is remembering once he gets out of bed. (He worked until 8 this morning.)

Thanks! We have 10 children this year (with the possibility of 14 in a "full" class). I think that works out to 55 stickers each. It really isn't bad if you get the cheaper stickers, but my co-teacher did have a point about the length of the project. Most of the three year olds don't have the attention span to do the complete book on one day, and we didn't want to make this a multi-day project. Plus each teacher could really only help one child at a time. This way, we'll make sure that we write all the numbers and count the objects with them, but they can color parts at home if they don't get all of it done in school.

pixiedust: that it's worth the trouble, but I agree with you!

I've been noticing an awful lot of grey lately and am trying to decide whether to try coloring it. Somehow I'm turning into an old lady!

Thanks! Once it's done, we'll save a master to make copies of every year. So although it's a lot of work now, next year will be a breeze.

Thanks for the congrats to Laura. I know that the team really wants to make Nationals, so for them, I'm hoping they make it. For me, I'd almost rather they didn't. Besides the expenses (which aren't insignificant), we would probably have to leave the day after Matthew's graduation.

Sounds like the book is worth the time investment now.
I hope Laura's competition works out! pixiedust:

Anne Marie, I am sorry this house thing is taking so LONG. What a pain! And what is UP with these people? No means no! :sad2:

Is it time to go to Disneyworld yet???:hyper:

For Tom & Bernadette? Almost. For us? Not so much.

pushy one aren't they??

That smell is not appetizing so a good thing to decline. :upsidedow

Hope you fell better Deb!! There are so many things going around.. I am amazed at how many people that are sick.....now if Elin would listen to me and drink some of this old shoe tea I have....she would be forever cured! :):)

:lmao: :lmao:

So a few new tickers have shown up. Elizabeth, Marci and you too Kristine.

How and where were you when you got them??? CONGRATS

:thumbsup2

I miss Baloo! Has anyone heard from Alicia lately? She congratulated me when Noah was born. :goodvibes

Happy Monday, DDA!

We are still dealing with vacation fall-out in my household. Noah is back to waking up every 2-3 hours, and no one can seem to kick the coughs and sniffles. It was totally worth it though (but it would be VERY nice if Noah remembers sleep is a good thing ASAP!).

Kevin only had to go to 5 stores before he found my Wii Fit. He also bought my favorite birthday cake, which we ate yesterday when we celebrated Christmas with his dad. He's a keeper.

Does anyone have any experience with toddlers hitting? Matty's in a bad phase right now, here at home. Alyssa, Kevin, and I would appreciate any advice. Thanks! :grouphug:

Lots of prayers and pixie dust for you all! pixiedust:

Hitting is a hard one. Usually kids hit out of frustration. My nephew is still a hitter and he is 6. We've tried everything with him, but he has a hairpin temper and when it goes he loses it. He even hits his parents. Imagine there frustration. Colby had a period of hitting, but we explained to him that he was just frustrated and hitting wasn't necessary. Somehow we managed to teach him to say "frustrated" or something that passed as it. Now when he gets frustrated he tells us so instead of hitting. Of course that goes out the window if my nephew hits as he knows that Logan won't stop and Colby is now able to throw Logan to the ground :rolleyes1 I guess 6 years of being the recipient has made him fight back. It hasn't stopped Logan though.

I've been outed! :scared1:

Marci - I'm jealous of the fireworks show. All I got was a glass of sparkling cider and some Wii.

Bob just called. Grandpa Joe (his father's father) just passed away. Funeral is on Thursday.

:grouphug: I'm sorry about Grandpa Joe

Sounds like some of the DDA needs my help with cleaning. But of course I would get to finally see everyone. :scratchin

I'm sure that none of us would pass up cleaning help :wave2:

And then DS and I can have a big bowl of plain vanilla ice cream, yum. BTW tell him I now have just plain vanilla if he would like to visit. Plus there is plenty of snow for him to play in, with more to come.

I need LOTS of help with cleaning, so add me to the list!

I took a long nap, well at least I went to bed for a long time. I had lots of trouble getting comfy with aches and pains popping up. I did manage to doze off from time to time. Of course I got up when I heard the cat hacking up :scared: He seems like he got a lot of phlem. Thankfully the cleanup wasn't bad other than he did part of it in my work shoe :crazy2: I guess if I smelled my shoe I might throw up too. He seems okay now.

When I got up I ate a bowl of cereal as I am determined to be done with this. Now I'm going to take a shower then strip my bed and wash the illness away.

Deb if the cat has phlegm, then it sounds like he may have gotten your sickies.
