DDA Chapter 17

what shows?? This is an awesome season for Denver in terms of theater. It's too bad I can't afford any of it!

I'm not sure. I'll ask him. I know that there a couple of actors that he wants to see (he'd like them to come work for us next summer) at the Denver Center, so I'm assuming they'll be seeing whatever is playing there.

Glynis I'll clean your tubs, as long as I can hold Timothy when I'm done!
(ps. I not sick)

What a great deal on the new bed, hope its very comfy.

I've been outed! :scared1:

Marci - I'm jealous of the fireworks show. All I got was a glass of sparkling cider and some Wii.

Bob just called. Grandpa Joe (his father's father) just passed away. Funeral is on Thursday.

My sympathies to you and Bob.

Marci, I can't wait to go back and read about your trip and NYE! Chanon, we also celebrated with the Wii and sparkling grape juice.

Since the DCPA (Denver Center) is really about 10 theaters I can't wait to hear what he is seeing. I am going to bet "Speed the Plow" is one. I am going to try and scrounge the money up to see that one with my book group.

Well, after a week of temperatures in the 50's, we are back in the middle of winter! We had almost gotten rid of all the snow in our yard, when WHAM! we got socked in with a bad storm, yesterday. This snow is so wet and heavy! I hate it! I need to get to the store, but I really don't want to go out. I may just page Alan a shopping list and have him do the shopping on his lunch hour. It means we'll have to have breakfast for dinner, but I don't think anyone will mind that.

Theresa - good luck with the interviewer on Wednesday!

Elizabeth - Sounds like you have everything you need for the birthday party! I hope your son and his friends have a great time, and that you and your hubby don't lose your minds!

Tia - Good luck with the property looking. It's so much fun to look and dream!

Kelly- I wish I had a WDW trip to plan! Seriously, I've done all the planning that I can for our DL trip in June, but I really want to get back to WDW with my whole family!

Deb - Good luck with the subbing! I hope that you start to feel better soon! This ickiness has gone on long enough!

Elin - The same goes for you! You've been feeling bad for way too long! I hope that today is much better for you.

Tammi - Good luck finding a place for you and Bob to vacation together. Vegas can be a lot of fun! Of course, if you are in to skiing, you could come to Utah! You could send Bob out on the slopes, and you and I could hit the shopping, and then the lodge for hot chocolate! Just a thought!

Chanon - My condolences to Bob and his family. :grouphug:

Theresa - Good luck with the interview!

Heidi - I've got some tubs that would love to have your helping hand. I've got laundry in the washer and dryer. Otherwise, I'm not doing much today. Need a little bit of kitchen clean up, but it's easy stuff.

FYI, Tammi - the "flakiness" has just about passed here for now. Just enough to get the kids stirred up in the classrooms.

The flakiness around here never ends, but we haven't had new snow yet today. :rotfl: The trip to Albany yesterday was so much easier than last Sunday.

Would you come out here and do my tubs???

Actually, we spent the weekend doing a whole bunch of deep cleaning. Alan and I got a new bed, and since it was going to be delivered today, we took the weekend to deep clean our bedroom. Ick! I don't think I've really deep cleaned in there since we moved in. I've done surface cleaning, but not scrubbing baseboards, windows and walls. Definitely that is something that should be done more than once every 6 years!

the good news is that our new bed is in and is gorgeous! Alan did a series of commercials for the mattress company, and because the economy is so bad right now, they agreed to pay us half of what they owe us in cash, and then the rest is the new bed, pillows, a set of sheets and a bed frame! I'm ok with that, since we really needed a new bed! I can't wait to try it out. I think Timothy and I are headed in for a nap this afternoon!

What a great bargaining tool...though money is always good a bed, if needed, is awesome.

Let me see if I can catch up properly:

Deb-glad to hear you took another day to heal. :grouphug:

Anne Marie-what an odd thing that they want to give the offer in person. Good for you standing your ground.

Beth-tell Laura congrats on getting to the next meet. :goodvibes

Marci-your trip report is so cool. Will you adopt me and take me next year?? I promise to stay up until midnight. :p

Robyn-Terry is in my prayers now.

Love the new scrolling tags

Sickies go away!pixiedust:

GOOD MORNING DDA!!!

I have an interview scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. The person doing the interviewing called last night during supper so we played phone tag. She is a professional interviewer. Should be a learning experience. :upsidedow

Thanks for a dittoable post!

Thanks for the congratulations for Laura...I'll pass them on.

pixiedust: for Wednesday's interview!

It looks so fun! I would love to do something like that! Too bad it's not closer to Utah! There's no way I could talk Alan into a trip like that (much as I think he's like it!)

Yes, Deb, that looks like a great place to vacation! I am still working on a New England trip, but Mr. Wallet doesn't seem to want to let go of anything for a vacation this year. (He's probably right...). Although, if the synchro team makes Nationals, we will be driving to Gainesville, FL for 5 days or so at the very end of June-July 4th. (The wallet just doesn't know that he has no veto power yet.)

Yay for the deep-cleaning and a new bed! We could really use a new bed (ours is 20 year old), but it keeps getting shoved down the priority list. I could definitely use a deep-cleaning (not to mention painting, etc.), but I guess I'm just lazy.

Ok, back to the preschool book. I just needed a small sanity break. :) I think that the hardest pages are completed, so it should go much easier now. I'm making a counting coloring book. We used to always have a book of blank sheets. We'd help the children write the number and then count out the correct number of stickers on it. The director thinks that the stickers are too expensive, and my co-teacher thinks it was too time-consuming (they are both kind of right), so I was asked to create a book that we can still help them write the number but then they will count the items and color instead of using the stickers. Since we're having beach day this week, I'm trying to make it beach/ocean themed.

Good luck with the book, Beth. Hopefully it's not too difficult to put together. Once you get it done, is it something that can be used moving forward?

Congrats to Laura, also! That is great news. I hope they do make it to Nationals too!

Well, our Daisy field trip is cancelled. The weather's not supposed to get bad until evening, but the girl giving the tour is concerned about her drive home if it comes in early. Since she's only coming in for our tour, I understand. We're rescheduling for Feb 9 so I figure that will be a snow day too since that's what happens on all of our attempted field trips so far.

We're supposed to get 3-5 inches overnight and another 1-3 tomorrow. I'm guessing there won't be school, but who knows.

Do I get to spend time with Terra?
My laundry is also done.

Thanks! Once it's done, we'll save a master to make copies of every year. So although it's a lot of work now, next year will be a breeze.

Thanks for the congrats to Laura. I know that the team really wants to make Nationals, so for them, I'm hoping they make it. For me, I'd almost rather they didn't. Besides the expenses (which aren't insignificant), we would probably have to leave the day after Matthew's graduation.

Sounds like some of the DDA needs my help with cleaning. But of course I would get to finally see everyone. :scratchin
