DDA Chapter 17

Speaking of Beverly, I got my entire family with that this last trip. The sad thing is, Bob kinda liked it. :crazy2:

Um, ick. I guess if he likes it that takes the fun out of it, huh?

Amy - Remove Matty from his victim, tell him firmly "We do NOT hit!" then turn your attention to the person that he hit. Unless he hit you. If he hit you then you continue on with "Hands are for helping, not for hitting." Then he goes to the naughty mat for 2 minutes. Princess likes to be all dramatic on the mat, so I refuse to make eye contact with her until her time is up. Good luck!

Let me see if I can catch up properly:

Deb-glad to hear you took another day to heal. :grouphug:

Anne Marie-what an odd thing that they want to give the offer in person. Good for you standing your ground.

Beth-tell Laura congrats on getting to the next meet. :goodvibes

Marci-your trip report is so cool. Will you adopt me and take me next year?? I promise to stay up until midnight. :p

Robyn-Terry is in my prayers now.

Sickies go away!pixiedust:

GOOD MORNING DDA!!!

I have an interview scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. The person doing the interviewing called last night during supper so we played phone tag. She is a professional interviewer. Should be a learning experience. :upsidedow

Well, I might be the exception to the rule, but I tell my kids if that if someone in school hits them, I give them permission to hit them back, TWICE AS HARD. That way kids will get the message. I don't want mine to become the punching bag. But I had better NOT find out mine were the instigators. I guess that wouldn't work for your OWN children or siblings. Good luck. pixiedust:

No -- my Mom always said to do that, and it worked for us. I like Elizabeth's idea too, but patience isn't one of my virtue's...

Marci - aside from being sick, your NYE sounded wonderful.

It was terrific! And the being sick part wasn't bad at my happy place. I actually felt better there then I did last week. I know the crowds are ridiculous. I know it cost more in DVC points during this time... but it is a breathtaking time to be at the World.

Marci - I'm jealous of the fireworks show. All I got was a glass of sparkling cider and some Wii.

Bob just called. Grandpa Joe (his father's father) just passed away. Funeral is on Thursday.

Come join us next year! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry about Grandpa Joe. Please tell Bob I'm thinking about him and his family.

Randy was a good sport and fell for it this last trip. His face was too funny!

I'm off to a staff meeting... :)

I have to go to the grocery store, but it is cold and damp out there. :scared: Maybe I'll wait just a bit. I have a load of Princess' stuff in the washer and I want to put it in the dryer before I leave. Since I never know what time the housekeeper will show up I want to have my stuff out of the way ASAP so she can do what she needs to do.

I bought soda, water, orange juice, granola bars, and ice cream cups for DS's party. DH brought home a bunch of chips, and we'll bring some popcorn since there's a microwave in the room. We'll also have his cake, of course. I will go on Thursday and grab some bananas and maybe some clementines for them to have Sat AM. I just want to make sure the boys have PLENTY to eat and drink. I don't want anybody to go home and say we didn't feed them.

My 180 mark is 2/2. I am very sad that it is completely worthless. :guilty:
Good luck with the offer on the house. The "in person" thing sounds like the offer is going to come in very low and they are going to try to spin it to look better.
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

So after debating dates I think we will book a week at the camping resort. We will go the first week of summer vacation which begins June 21 (father's day) It will cost us about $400 for 6 nights. They have lots of free activities too.

Point Sebago

This is the website if anyone is interested in a family vacation with tons of kids activities that actually get the kids moving. We would love to have DDA camp with us

It looks so fun! I would love to do something like that! Too bad it's not closer to Utah! There's no way I could talk Alan into a trip like that (much as I think he's like it!)

You all still need to come to Colorado. :wave2:

they will have plenty to eat sounds like a perfect combo of food for a sleepover.

We are going to stop at McD's on the way to GWL in case some of them skip lunch (I KNOW DS will skip lunch). Then we'll feed them pizza for dinner. The other stuff is just for them to snack on, and for them to eat the next morning.

I guess I am worried about them having enough since DS came home from that sleepover starving and dehydrated.

I've been outed! :scared1:

I'm so sorry. Please pass my condolences to Bob.

Alright thoes of you who are suposed to be cleaning, it is done yet? if not hop to it. ;)

I have my house done and that even includes scrubbing the tub.

Don't think I've forgotten that! I definitely want to come. My dad is going to Denver in a couple of weeks, and I'm so jealous! He and a couple of friends are going to see some shows. I wish I could come!

what shows?? This is an awesome season for Denver in terms of theater. It's too bad I can't afford any of it!

Would you come out here and do my tubs???

Actually, we spent the weekend doing a whole bunch of deep cleaning. Alan and I got a new bed, and since it was going to be delivered today, we took the weekend to deep clean our bedroom. Ick! I don't think I've really deep cleaned in there since we moved in. I've done surface cleaning, but not scrubbing baseboards, windows and walls. Definitely that is something that should be done more than once every 6 years!

the good news is that our new bed is in and is gorgeous! Alan did a series of commercials for the mattress company, and because the economy is so bad right now, they agreed to pay us half of what they owe us in cash, and then the rest is the new bed, pillows, a set of sheets and a bed frame! I'm ok with that, since we really needed a new bed! I can't wait to try it out. I think Timothy and I are headed in for a nap this afternoon!
