DDA Chapter 17

I am freaking out :scared: Craig went from not wanting to go to WDW to now wanting to go in March! :scared1: We're already in the 90 day window, it's too close for my planning. LOL We need to wait for our tax return so we won't be able to book till we get that back, so that will put us about 4-5 weeks out from the actual vacation. :scared1:

Chuck did the same thing to me when we got back from our October trip. He decided he wanted to go see the Christmas decorations again so we planned a December trip in less than 6 weeks (plus bought DVC between). :faint:

My grandma used to sew. She made me some doll clothes when I was little.

Mom used to sew, too. She used to make pajamas for me. She also made me some purple corduroy gauchos and a matching vest. (Hey! It was the 70's!) She made a couple of dresses, but they were very simple jumper type things. She made a velvet Princess dress for me one year at Halloween.

Thanks Elizabeth. I just don't want to spend $ on gloves and then not be able to wear them, I'm allergic to wool.

Sherpa is another word for llama, I think.

Sorry all I've read along but it's been a cruddy day and I'm fighting a terrible headache. So hugs and pd all around. (Love the pictures everybody)

Tia what a situation you have been put in. As difficult as it may be I would have to say something myself, you need a day off. Seems to me that Erin is assuming more than she should & maybe taking a little advantage of your kindness.

I hope this can all be worked out without any hurt feelings pixiedust:

That is so very well said, Janet, that I have to quote you and agree. Tia - You have to have time with your family. JUST your family. Erin will have to understand, although I already know she will be nasty about it. Good luck.

And I see that Phil was sick today. I hope he feels better soon.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone! It helps to know I'm not just overreacting. Unfortunately, I missed them today as we were looking at houses and they didn't stay long like they usually do. I'll have to call her sometime this week. Not the ideal way (I was looking forward to having them both in the conversation and Mom close by for back up if needed. LOL)

Phil is doing much better today. He had the nasty stomach virus yesterday. By evening it was just a headache, slight fever and other achiness. Today he's feeling pretty good. Just the headache remains.

My SIL still does a lot of the cooking for the family. I've mentioned before that she's a SAHM. When she and my brother moved out of my parents' house (they had been staying there while they found a house -- they had previously lived in Tyler, Texas) my Mom told her that they'd pay for the groceries if SIL continued cooking. So, she gets free groceries and people to help clean-up, and we get home-cooked food from 1 to 5 times a week, depending on all of our schedules. She normally has two dishes, and one will be lower in fat. Ex. -- chicken and beef, salmon patties fried and baked etc. Whenever one of us does WW, she will cook WW recipes as the lower fat thing, so I always look for recipes for her and buy cookbooks. It works out great for us, and she likes to eat healthier and enjoys the dishes.

I love that plan! I would totally do the same thing if any of us were on the same schedule.

Go for it! You can make dining and other ressies before you actually book. Just call tomorrow and get some things locked in. Then, when you've got the money in hand, book it all up, pack your bags and off you go!

okay prayers needed for a co-workers children and grand children as a co-worker passed away yesterday and one of her kids found her in her bed. It was an emotional ending to a stressful day yesterday at work.

Prayers for them all, and for you and your coworkers. What a tough situation. :grouphug:

Can one of you obsessive planners explain to me why I am so hesitant to make plans for this summer. I always have our summers planned out years in advance. heck I can tell you our plans for 2010, 2011 and 2012, but I'm not comfortable committing to THIS summer :confused3 Chris is right there with me. Nothing has struck us as a must do.

Part of it is the financial side, but another part I "think" is that I expect to see some incredible vacation deals popping up. If I committ and put money down on something then I wouldn't be able to jump if an unbelievable offer arises. Does that make sense. Is is okay to not make summer plans :confused3

Because none of it is exactly what you want to do. I would do what you're doing, though. Keep running plans, prices and ideas. If you stumble upon something that looks great, go for it! Otherwise, just keep thinking of ideas, doing some planning and hold out for a good deal on a trip that you really want to do. Remember, the cruise thing came up last minute and it was perfect! Something will come up and that you'll be dying to jump on, I just know it.

Is anyone else waiting for W-2s to arrive. We would love to get our taxes out of the way, but we're still waiting. I'd like to make sure we are getting a refund and see what that refund might be.

Me! I would love to get ours done. It would help me know what I have to play with for the new house...what furniture, if any, I might be able to afford right away, etc. We're just waiting on Phil's now, but then again, that's the main one.

Good evening, DDA! It was a snowy cold day here today. Not too much accumulation, but we're supposed to get more tomorrow. We did go ahead though and see a few open houses today. Some really good options for our list. We're going out with the Realtor on Thursday as well and I'll try to get in some of the listings that I most want to see. After that, we'll see about narrowing the list to some of the favorites and what I want Phil to see.

I survived work. I still don't feel great, but I made it through. It was a very profitable evening as I had a large private party :cool1: I really should eat something as I've only had a bowl of soup today. I really have no desire to eat though :confused3

Good Morning DDA

The wake last night was like a reunion, I saw so many people that I haven't seen in years. It was good to see everyone but a shame that it takes a funeral to bring everyone together.

Ken really was a wonderful, caring, and giving person and it showed in the amount of people that turned out, there wasn't enough room for everyone to attend the service.

:cheer2: glad it was profitable and you were able to go.

My checked luggage is nearly all packed. I just need to add socks. Now I need to pack my carry on. I need to upload any photos and make backups so I can erase all my memory cards.

We're going to a birthday party this afternoon and then to my MIL's for dinner because my SIL is coming in today from St Louis.

I better go get some things done!!!

Sounds like you are pretty much ready to go :cool1:

Hope you had a good day!

Well that is a win-win situation for all :thumbsup2

Glad to hear Jake is feeling a little better.

So this wake, viewing, funeral, burial is going to take place over 3 days. Not like dragging it out. Monday is the viewing. Tuesday is the funeral. They are going to have the body at both of those. Then he is being cremated, and they are burying the remains on Wednesday.

I have a headache, my sinuses hurt, my back hurts. Then again I tried to choke on water. I can not get sick, I can not get sick, I can not get sick, I can not get sick.

I am not ready to go back to work.
