DDA Chapter 17

Tia,
Great pictures!!! I agree with everyone, you look great.:goodvibes

Janet,
pixiedust: Feel better Riley!

The boys mini vacation is over, back to school today! Well Garrett at least, Riley has thrown up 3 times since he went to bed last night. I hate calling him out, but I don't want to send him in either.

The school probably will not be to happy, but what can you do :guilty:

It's a highly contagious nastiness so watch out. Of the 13 of us, at least 8 of us have had it in the last 10 days. The good side is that it seems to be short-lived with everyone I know. Hopefully he'll be back on his feet by afternoon and ready for school tomorrow.

Tia -- great pictures! You look great, and Terra is precious, as usual. I love the color of her hair.

Good morning, DDA!

More great pics, Tia! I thought you had lost a lot of weight in the pics you posted yesterday! You look great! :goodvibes

Ewwww. Rental car seats! :scared: I have never rented baby equipment, but if the seats are anything like the cars I have rented I would definitely bring my own. Of course I am kind of funny about stuff like that to begin with.

Tammi & Elin - I hope the traffic isn't as bad as you fear! pixiedust:

DH and DS have gone off to get Dunkin' Donuts. :)

Princess has swimming lessons today. Her first time without a swim diaper! :cool1: They require TWO non-disposable swim diapers ont he kids if they are under age 3 (or if they are over 3 and not potty trained) so it will be much easier to get her dressed now! One of my friends has a charge swimming at the same time, so this session should be fun.

After swimming we are going to the mall to see about the "free cosmetics" thing. People on the budget board posted links to an article where the big dept. stores and the cosmetic companies have to settle some lawsuit by giving out free product starting today. :confused3 I need to go to the mall anyway to exchange some jeans for Princess, so we'll check it out. We need to grab a few things at Target (because we never went yesterday), I need to stop at the shoe repair place, I need to mail some stuff. Wow. We are going to be busy today! :rotfl2:

Good luck on the swim class. Let us know what you get at the mall. I wonder if I asked Randy go to by if they would give him my stuff? :rotfl2:

Tammi -- I've been thinking about you and praying for a safe and quick shift with no problems.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Good Morning DDA!

It is still bitter cold here! I just don't do well with the cold as I used to! I must be getting OLD!:)
Thanks for all the nice comments on my latest project!:flower3:
I am still plugging away at my diet, so far 22 lbs. gone, many more to go. I have started drinking water instead of soda. I am sure that at least 20 lbs. of that was all the water being flushed out of my system. I am sure I won't see those numbers again.
Leighanna is back to school today, she didn't want to get up. I told her that her vacation was over! She reminded me that she hasn't gone on vaction yet, that will be in 15 DAYS!:mickeyjum

Janet, I hope Riley is feeling better soon!

Tia, thanks for posting those pictures. Terra is such a cutie and you are looking great!

Tammi, I hope your drive home won't be stressful! I can only imagine with the predicted millions of people in D.C. today!

Elizabeth have fun today, sounds like you have alot to do!
Our suitcases are out, and we have started packing things that we know we won't need in the next two weeks. Leighanna even packed up some of her stuffies. I told her that she needs to limit those, or go naked, not enough room! She didn't like that answer!

Jen, congrats on your upcoming cruise!

Jennifer, that tote to hold your car seats looks great! At least the car seats should stay clean! I can't believe how quickly your trip is approaching either!

I know that I have missed a lot of people, lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: all around!

I think that is a great idea. Do you have a little luggage rack that you can use to pull them through the airport? I think you can get them at Walmart and just bungy strap the seat bag to the cart. That way you are sure to have something to move them. We always used our double stroller to move the luggage etc and carried the kids :thumbsup2

We don't, and I'm hesitant to buy one because I'm reading that different airports have different rules about them getting through security. I'm looking into it, though!

We aren't taking our double stroller because a) it's too expensive to worry about it getting thrown around and b) the girls can't sit up in it enough to see at WDW, so it would be pointless.

I'll definitely check Walmart though, if it's something that folds up then maybe it can just go inside the bag when we aren't allowed rolling it through :confused3

Ewwww. Rental car seats! :scared: I have never rented baby equipment, but if the seats are anything like the cars I have rented I would definitely bring my own. Of course I am kind of funny about stuff like that to begin with.

Ick! See I've heard gross stories about rental cars, but we ALWAYS use National's Emerald Aisle, regardless of prices elsewhere. Not once have we driven a car with more than 5000 miles, that looked as if it had rolled off the lot brand new. That's probably shaping my opinion, I'm sure! I've never had a gross rental car -- I've always given it up sadly, wishing it were mine! :teeth: The same is true for when we've rented National cars elsewhere.

Can you sleep somewhere other than your bed okay with him gone? Or is the on call part? Kristi can't sleep well in their bed when Chris is gone, but she does okay if she sleeps on the couch.

It's mostly just that he's not here. Once I'm tired enough, I sleep fine in the bed. I just can't lie down unless I'm utterly exhausted when I'm home "alone". It's not at all a surprise and stems from things in my past, but I just hope that some day I'll get over it. Now that the girls are here, I've at least stopped closing and locking my bedroom door

Wow only 15 days, how exciting!

If I am home alone I have to leave some lights on.

Thanks all, Riley is laying on the couch sipping 7-up right now.

I don't want whatever he has though nor do I want anyone else to get it!

Jennifer do you have your park days figured out or are you & Kyle just going to wing it with the girls?

Vicki what about you & Chuck? I know you have the marathon, which I can't wait to hear about!

Ooooh, this girl doesn't "wing it"! :rotfl: You might recall Kyle's & my half-marathon trip 2 years ago. We tried doing so, and I had a horrible time with it -- and we even had parks and ADRs planned, just no more details than that!

I have parks and ADRs planned, as well as a general "touring plan" -- I just know it might not be exact. I'm fine with that, but I have to have at least a skeleton plan or I'm lost! :rotfl:

Here are the parks/days --

Thursday (3/5) - arrive at lunchtime (after stopping to shop for baby essentials), check in and settle in, hit the MK in the afternoon/evening. (I'd love to make it in time for the parade, but we'll see.) Dinner at Chef Mickey's, Spectro if the girls can swing it. It all depends on how they travel, of course!
Friday (3/6) - AK in the morning, naptime at the hotel, back to AK for the parade and Tusker House dinner; nothing set in stone for the evening
Saturday (3/7) - Family 5K race in the morning, followed by special Princess breakfast for racers; DTD, Boardwalk, hotel etc in the afternoon (depending on the extent of "downtime" necessary for the babies); dinner at the Wave and Spectro/Wishes if we didn't see it the first day
Sunday (3/8) - Epcot in the morning (finally!), Crystal Palace and MK later... at least for now. This was the P&PP that we paid for, that is now not happening. I'm leaning towards canceling the party at DHS since it's not hte most baby friendly park, and just keeping this an MK evening. We'll see!
Monday (3/9) - MK in the morning, Epcot in the evening w/dinner at San Angel Inn; Illuminations if the girls can do it.
Tuesday (3/10) - DHS in the morning/early afternoon, nothing planned for the evening. Boardwalk, hotel room, etc. Dinner at Big River, I think. Or Beaches & Cream.
Wednesday (3/11) - MK in the morning, DS in the late afternoon w/Fantasmic dining package. I thought that might be necessary with all the stupid cutbacks :headache:
Thursday (3/12) - pack up, Epcot for a couple of hours before WWS for the Braves game. We fly out that evening :(

I guess those are just sort of "goals". Even then, it seems like very little park time with all the naps, etc required. Boo! I'm sure it will be more than made up for, though, by experiencing whatever we get to experience with Elise and Avery! :goodvibes: I have to admit, too, that if the girls are sleeping in the evening and Kyle doesn't mind, I might have to sneak over to Epcot a little more. It's my favorite park, and I'm just not feeling enough of it! :)

Tom, good job on the weight loss! :thumbsup2 And your ticker seems to be losing weight as well! :cool1:
YAY for packing! You are right on track! :)

I think your plans look good & what an adventure this trip will be :thumbsup2

I look forward to the many, many, pictures you will have to share!

Think positivitly, it may take some time but I think you will.
We were able to get the house we wanted in the area we wanted, for less then the listing price.

We are not ruling out a home purchase, but we realize there may not be anything really fabulous in the area we want at a price we can afford.
