DDA Chapter 17

Tia - feel better

Anne Marie - great news on the weight loss and the follow-up showings and on Daniel!

Deb - YIPPEE! A possible job. You and Tammi and Jennifer (and sometimes Heidi( and I can chat a little each morning. ;)

Bernadette and Tom - great sewing

Chanon - I am glad you all had fun and that you are lucky enough to have a great neighbor!

Jennifer - FORTHY-FIVE DAYS!

Jen - a cruise? in June??

Tia - I loved the PhotoPass pictures, especially the ones of Terra with Santa. She looks delighted to be there!

And, Miss Tia... you look WONDERFUL!

Alrighty, I've got some DL pictures uploaded. I apologize in advance if anything is sideways. I forgot to turn them before putting them in Photobucket. I did edit them in Photobucket, but they were showing sideways in the album, but upright in the edit window, so I'm just not sure what will happen here.

I fear tomorrow is going to be bad, traffic-wise, even for us and we are 50 miles south of DC. All the bridges leading into the city from VA are already closed and the commuter trains are all booked solid. We got a notice from our Downtown Retail Merchants Association warning us that they are aware of 20 buses leaving our downtown area in the wee hours and that the people on these buses have permission to park in the downtown area. That could mean a nightmare finding parking! Add to that the fact that two of our county school systems are closed (at the request of the people in charge of the Inauguration) and the notices about staying off I-95, Route 1 (which parallels 95) and Route 3 which is my way in and out of town... I can't wait to see what tomorrow is like. I really feel badly for Tammi. She has a nasty 24 hours ahead of her. It is not the hours but the overall situation that will present the problems. :(

I love that they "iced" Sleeping Beauty's castle in DL too! Thanks for the lovely pictures, Tia! :goodvibes

Okay, so some are sideways afterall, but I'm not sure how to fix them easily. Sorry. :(

A sampling of Small World Holiday. Between Terra and I, I think we took about 175 pictures inside and out of this ride. It was really cool that there was "dancing" video projected on the outside from time to time. It was kind of like the dancing lights on the archway in Epcot, but video and on the face of the ride. That's what some of the different colored pictures are.

My favorite decoration inside. I have always liked the reindeer faces in the South Pacific section. I also really like the final "white" room, especially at the holidays.

And finally, our character experiences. I love that they are mostly "new" in some way, whether the characters themselves or the outfits.

Tia, thank you for posting those here. I never got over to your link! You do look wonderful, and Terra is adorable as always! I love the picture of her taking a picture! :goodvibes

Thank you, Elin! I was happy to notice some difference myself in the Toy Story Mania picture. It makes all of that work next year worth it and has me thinking more about the improvements I need to make to continue.

Tia - All your photos are right-side up! I hate that Photobucket takes forever to let you see that it has been changed.

Loved seeing the cool-weather costuming for the characters!

I am being honest here... if I didn't know it was you I would probably have looked past your photos thinking I didn't know who was in them! :thumbsup2

She kept wanting to take a picture of me taking a picture of her so we have a few of those. :goodvibes

Time for bed here. Still fighting whatever it is I have and still have lots of work to do on compositions in the morning.

Sleep tight, DDA! :goodvibes

That's weird. They were sideways here and when I refreshed a couple of times. A minute later, they are all rightside up. Silly photobucket.

I got home at 10 PM and need to be up at 6 AM to work at the school. They called me at work to ask me to work tomorrow :rotfl2: Unfortunately I'm not tired yet.

Tia I agree that you look wonderful. I really enjoyed the DL photos. Some day we will visit there too.

I have decided, I think with some finality, that we will take our infant seats and gate-check them. We're getting this, as soon as I go to BRU and check whether both seats will fit (they should):

I figure we can have a backpack on each back, a baby on each front, a luggage cart (or worst case scenario just bumble through the airport with each of us holding the bag between us). It will be a major pain in the butt, but I saved $175 (:thumbsup2 ) by not renting carseats, plus we get to use Emerald Aisle that we're used to instead of Counter Service @ National, and we don't have to worry about getting grimy/broken seats.

IF DAY and MCO have luggage carts on both sides of security, I figure we'll spend less than $20 both directions and it shouldn't be too bad. If they don't, we'll look like doofuses throughout the airport but hopefully the girls will make up for us! ;)

I really think it's your best bet. Not the easiest choice with two babies, but probably worth the effort.

It's definitely not going to be the most convenient, and - to be honest - I think there's a lot of whining without a lot of substance regarding car rental car seats. I venture to guess our experience with National would have been nothing but exemplary.... but this way once we get there we'll be able to load the seats as we already know how, after walking straight to the aisle, and get to the World quicker. The almost-$200 doesn't hurt, either! My biggest fear was that they wouldn't have the right seats available for some reason, or that it would take forever to get. No worries now!
