DDA Chapter 17

Robyn, that is excellent!!! Especially losing weight with the holidays in there. Keep it up!!!

Thanks! I missed a whole holiday being sick, so that helped. ;) I just wish I could see it, I swear my pants aren't as loose as I think they should be.

Ah. Much later in June than my days off.
Of course, if we are moving to some sort of alternate dwelling on July 1 I shouldn't make travel plans for late June whether i have days off or not! :rotfl:

Robyn, Vicki, and Deb - Great job on the healthy lifestyle changes!

I discovered today that ice cream flavored Jelly Belly candy is gross, so my healthy change for the week will be to not eat the rest of the bag! :rotfl2:

Thanks!!

Molly lives on Jelly Bellys, she gets her supply from Gail.

Deb, sorry you and Chris are going through the winter blues. I also have no trips planned for this year.

I do not know what price Hershey ticket prices will be. However since I have a season pass, I do have coupons for 2009 to bring a friend for $30.95. I am not sure how many can use at one time though.

Hmm, I may be interested but I am also contemplating going to Ohio to meet Janet and Chanon that same week. Although there had also been talk of something in Boston around the 4th of July.

Good job Vicki and Robyn.

Up until yesterday I had been doing great. I got a bit derailed due to unplanned schedule changes. Tomorrow I am back on board. I need to fit in some exercise yet today. Although I did some already it was not half an hour's worth.

I had been down one pound Monday, but who knows since I got thrown off the wagon.

Has anyone else gotten a 25% off coupon for one item at Barnes and Noble from Disney Visa?

Thanks Becky. Just keep at it, that's what I keep telling myself.

I like the way you think!! ::yes::

She does have a great mind!!

Robyn - Tell Gail to stay away from the ice cream flavored ones. They taste like those scratch-n-sniff stickers we used to get in elementary school smelled. I know that sounds weird, but really, they are icky. DS got a package of 20 or 25 "normal" flavors and he says those are good.

I am off for the night. My eyes are all itchy and watery and I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with a cold.

Emma is at her friends house for the night, she's been there since 11am this morning. They stopped by here on their way home from dinner to pick up her clothes.

Molly, Lucy and I have church in the morning. Then we will pick Emma up. She has a birthday party and sleepover for another friend tomorrow night. Mo is feeling a bit left out so her BFF Sydney will be sleeping over tomorrow night.

Have a great night!!!!

I love Jelly Bellys and they are only 2 calories a piece.:thumbsup2

I hope that you soon see it in your clothing.

Thanks! I will keep moving forward in a healthier manner.

Blech, that does sounds gross.

Gail likes the black ones. And when Mo is over there getting her fix she knows that if she gets a black one she has to "pay" Gail.

I fill a very tall cup with tap water and then drink from the opposite side while standing at the sink. Which means your head will wind up in the sink.

I have the hiccups and can not get rid of them.

I am glad I do not have to go back to work until Tuesday.

I am having an internal debate with myself over whether I should try to find a full time temporary position for Feb - June, leaving the days/weeks that the kids are off open. I'm sure finding that temp position would prove tricky anyway, but then I look at my schedule and wonder if I could actually pull it off. My weeks tend to book up with just the kids activities. Tues we have afternoon dentist appointments followed by family hair cuts. Wed is Hunter's doctor's appt and snow boarding. Thursday Hunter has a field trip (which doesn't effect me since I can't chaperone and be around to pick up Colby) then the boys have Tech Crew for the Play from 2:45 - 4. I also have plenty of projects around here that I could tackle, vut I'd have to find motivation :confused3 What to do. The money would be really nice and might afford us a better or another vacation, yet having time at home without kids has it's own merit.

My second debate is over what occupation I want to pursue come September. I've already made the decision to go back to work full time in September. I hate the idea of having very limited vacation time though. I also think that I don't want a desk job. I'm very afraid that I will gain a ton of weight if I'm sitting at a desk all day. I really love working with the public. I guess just about every job that I've had has had me working with customers. So how do I combine my skills and interests and find a job that I can be happy with. I feel so lost when it comes to all this. I also feel like I've been out of college for so long that I'm not sure my degree will be of any assistance at all.

I have to admit that it is the first time in my life that I have ever maintained an exercise routine that wasn't part of sports training (while in high school). I have been faithful to the Marathoning to Mortals training routine. I think this is the 2nd time that I've switched an exercise day with a rest day but otherwise, I have done every minute as planned. Every time when I get started, I wonder if I'll be able to run, walk, ride the whole way but so far I get myself through to the end.

You go girl! I'm so proud of you!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Steffy, thanks so much for this wonderful post to ditto. :goodvibes

Deb and Vicki- Congrats on your weight loss. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am plugging along. By my scale at home I am down another 3lbs since Wednesday. I am down, since the beginning of November, about 17lbs. I have been consistently working out every morning, M-F. I would like to be down another 25lbs by the end of April and in order to make my Weight Watchers goal will need to lose 34lbs. I think that by breaking it up will not make it so daunting.
That's great news. You're doing great Robyn!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Deb and Vicki, congratulations on your losses too!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I had plans to go out tonight but they fell through--i was bummed at first, but now, everyone i live with is either out or asleep...so im playing the wii in peace--its a beautiful thing!

Well they came back. I tried this and a spoon of sugar and they are still here. I also tried holding my breath.

I may try standing on my head next.:upsidedow Although this would probably lead to bodily injury.:lmao:

I guess that is what I get for exercising. As this time I was exercising when they came back

Good luck with both of these decisions. Very few people actually use their degree for what they studied to get their degree.

Hi Kelli! It's been forever since you've been on here! It's so great to hear from you! :goodvibes Keep coming when you can. Yes life does get in the way!!!

Hope Kaelyn heals quickly. Those kids do keep growing, don't they?

Jennifer (bear) - I would imagine you guys are probably going to want to stay in Arlington, given that you're looking to do the baseball game and Six Flags. It will also put you prettty much in the middle of both zoos' locations, so you could pick which one (I'd probably give the nod to the Ft. Worth Zoo over Dallas). Check out this website: http://www.arlington.org/ to get some ideas of hotels nearby. A lot of the hotels in that area are a bit older, so I would keep that in mind. It looks like there is a brand new Hampton Inn & Suites that is closer to I-20 than I-30, but it might be worth being a few minutes further away to have nicer accomodations. I also agree with Marci's idea of an Embassy Suites. Let me know how I can help!
thanks Lindsay. I will check it out and if I have any more questions I will let you know.

Lizzy & I are going 1/27 to 2/3. Staying at the Poly. I would love to see you again! We have a 4pm flight on the 27th out of Boston so we won't arrive til late but would love to see you on the 28th if you can do that.

I had trouble changing a few ADR's last week and then read on the Dis that it was easier to get an ADR for 3 or 4 than for 2. I called back and asked for a party of 3 and I could get anything I wanted. SO.....I have an ADR for a party of 3 at 8:10 for Crystal Palace on the 28th. It would be wonderful if you could join us. MK opens at 9am on that morning.

I will have to check and see if that works - if nothing else, I will try to pop in and say "hi". I don't think we have a breakfast that morning, and I believe should be at the MK, but the only thing that makes me hesitate is having to get packed up and checked out that a.m. I will let you know, though!

I've heard that about parties of 2, but have never had any problems when booking far out. However, I just called to make a few ADR's for this trip last Sunday, and everything (including Boma!) was available for parties of 3! I was stunned!

Lindsay - I would love to talk with your realtor since Lake Highlands is where we think we want to buy!
I can come up with houses in the zip where the other 2 houses are, BUT they are north of LBJ and we want to be south. The others that are coming up are near Love Field (like almost ON TOP of the airport), or over between Webb Chapel and I35, which is really dangerous and in the zone for an even worse high school than where we are.

I recently found out that the gang activity at the school DS is headed to has gotten out of hand. Pair that with their crummy band program and I DO NOT want him to go there. The middle school thugs are bad enough.

PM sent. :goodvibes

Oh yeah, I did win a pair of ski boots on ebay. I just won them today. They were about $50 with shipping and the sale said they have never been used. Hopefully they will serve my purpose since I won't use them often anyway. They are being shipped flat rate so I don't think I'll have them for Wednesday, but they should take too long. Then again we shipped those napkins from WDW to Paula and it took months ;)

Congrats on the boots! I hope they arrive in a timely fashion, and are exactly what you're looking for!

We are about halfway through dismantling Christmas. DH and DS just left to go get some bins out of the storage unit for the decorations (all of the stuff that isn't ornaments) and the box the tree goes in. I am sure our neighbors will appreciate the fact that my wreath is gone. I have a Valentine wreath thing - guess I should go look for it.

DH has been pestering me to let him buy a third dSLR, but I am standing firm. Today he announced he will sell his hunting rifles to pay for the camera. OK, now we are getting somewhere! :thumbsup2 He hasn't been hunting in a couple of years. The last time he had a hunting license it expired without him going out a single time. When he DID go out hunting in the past he never did shoot anything, so it seems very silly to hang on to the rifles.

Oh my - a third camera?! I'm afraid you're much more tolerant than me! :faint:

Jonathan only has one body, but his vice is lenses (or "glass", as you're apparently to call them ;) ).
