DDA Chapter 17

If you all could spare a little pixie dust and a prayer for my sister, she takes her driving test at 1 today. I know it's not a big deal in the long run, but she's a mess.
She'll be fine if she chills out.... but that's the problem. She's very chill all of the time, until she gets worked up about something. Then it's over! ;)

Sounds a lot like the reasons Kristin doesn't like to drive. I hope it goes well for your sister!

I do too!! and I am determined to come down to Disney at the same time as some of you. I feel kind of left out.....I've only met one person at Disney.

It was a really fun meeting though :goodvibes

If you all could spare a little pixie dust and a prayer for my sister, she takes her driving test at 1 today. I know it's not a big deal in the long run, but she's a mess.

She's actually a very good driver, but had one incident where she turned and cut someone off a bit and it totally freaked her out (I'm sure my dad, wonderful but very quick to snap sometimes, didn't help the situation) (I picture a "When you're driving, you have GOT to be careful because someone could die" sort of lecture, you know...). I tried to reassure her that it's really by the grace of God sometimes that we arrive places safely, because - as far as I can tell anyway - we ALL have days that we either zone out or just do something stupid while driving. We shouldn't, but we do.

Anyway, after that (about a week ago) she just has herself all embarrassed, more than anything. She wouldn't try the maneuverability portion (she hasn't since driving school, 6 months ago), and when she did it last night she got flustered and had a hard time.

She'll be fine if she chills out.... but that's the problem. She's very chill all of the time, until she gets worked up about something. Then it's over! ;)

:wizard: :wizard: I'm sure she will be fine

That stinks! Although, I must admit, the idea of a waiver seems a bit odd! Was it just for taking drivers ed? Was that not required? I passed my test fine, but was not thrilled about taking it. Shame on you for smarting off to your mom and missing that opportunity! ;)

As for packing.... eh :confused3 I just don't know where to begin this time!

Do those little pooh outfits still fit? They've grown so much already.

My paperwork is done!! Only took an additional 7 hours today!!

:cool1: :worship:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  :worship: :cool1:

The driver's ed guys were able to test and "certify" us, then we just had to take the waiver to the license office. I had already passed the test in one of the driver's ed cars, which were nowhere near the size of my mother's bus. This was in FL more than 20 years ago, so things may have changed!

Yes.

Ahh, got it. Here, Drivers Ed is a joke. It's nothing like testing, so therefore you take it and then still have to take the test at the bureau.

She passed though! :yay:

OK, now that I am done working... I have to go to work! See you all tonight.

Well, got to get back to cleaning around here. My dog's vet appt. went well yesterday - they can't find anything of concern, and all her labs check out. Hopefully, she was just in a bit of a funk. I'm sure my being home all day has thrown her schedule off, as this has never happened in her entire life. She's reaping the benefits of getting chicken baby food mixed in with her dry food right now to interest her in eating more regularly. :goodvibes

The computer is still with the Geek Squad. I went to pick it up yesterday, brought it home, and it was doing the same darn thing. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. They have it again, and I told them they're going to fix it right, and I'm not paying another dime for it. We'll see what happens - should be done either today or tomorrow.

Stay warm, DDA!

I'm glad she's ok! Thea was very clingy when I was home on bedrest.... maybe they are just thrown off by the change :confused3

I hope your computer isn't too far gone... how frustrating!

Lindsay - Good luck with the computer!

Our desk top was running kind of funny last night. I ran a virus scan on it and lo and behold it had some sort of Trojan virus. :headache: The anti-virus has quarantined the file but apparently there isn't a way to clean it. I don't really know what to do about it next. :confused3 I don't know enough about viruses OR the file it was in to know what kind of damage it may have done.

Actually I was just thinking to PM you this afternoon, while I was folding other Pooh laundry :). I think they'll be perfect for our trip! If it's too chilly, a long-sleeve onesie will still look adorable under them! :yay:

They've grown a ton, but apparently they're still small. We're just now getting into 3-6 month stuff (at 7 months), with a lot of "3 month" stuff fitting perfectly still. :confused3 We have a follow-up appointment tomorrow for the second half of their flu shot, I'm anxious to see what they weigh now!

Good for her! How exciting! :yay: :dance3:

Lindsay, you are throwing off her groove by being in her work space. You need to get out more. :rotfl:

It is amazing how much kids can grow, yet still be small. Cherish these days, in a blink of an eye they will be teenagers  And you wonder how time passed so quickly.

I'm glad they will fit. Hopefully you'll have nothing but warm weather on your trip :wizard: :beach:

And here is a smilie for your sister

:car:

Cassi giggled when I told her I had filled you all in (both before and after the test), but she appreciates your good wishes! She's pretty excited! :goodvibes

I know you're right! Elise is making this hysterical face/noise that I'm trying to catch on camera.... and as I was describing it to my mom on the phone, she reminded me that Cassi used to do the same thing. Now she's driving in the blink of an eye, and time sped up even MORE once my girls were born! :sad2:

I'm hoping the weather is warm, but I wouldn't mind if it's not hot enough for true summery outfits. The last few times we've been (aside from my solo weekend in December) have been MISERABLY hot! :scared: I think March should be nice, though! :goodvibes

Jennifer I think March weather should be good. We were hoping for a bit warmer for Feb. but we'll take it, as its warmer then here.
