DDA Chapter 17

Katie just came home screaming that she lost her glasses. I told her to calm down but she's hysterical as usual. She'll have to go to the Lost & Found at school & see if they have them. She is complaining that she needs contacts. :confused3 Is 13 to young for contacts?
I don't think so. I think I got them when I was in 8th or 9th grade. I hope she can find the glasses.

Anne Marie - We can switch to another date if another date works better for everyone. I think at this point everybody is planning to be there that whole week from Aug. 9-15, with some of us going home the 15th, so any of those days Mon - Fri would be fine. I don't have my planning stuff at work with me today so I don't know what days we are going to be at which park.
We are staying there, so it's convenient for us whenever. :thumbsup2

I am working on a little sheet to enclose in the invitations giving more info about what we will provide (food & drinks, transportation), what we won't (money for the arcade), the fact that the boys will be supervised at all times, things they should bring, etc.

If your child was invited to something like this (overnight at a hotel with a water park) what would you want to know? I did include the website in case anyone is unfamiliar with the hotel.

There is only 1 boy whose parents we have never met. 3 of the boys are in Band with DS so we see their parents with some frequency. 1 is the boy whose parents let the kids walk to Dollar Tree in the dark, so I am thinking they won't have many concerns about sending their child off with us. The one whose parents we don't know came with us to dinner & a movie last year, so I have spoken to his parents, I just don't really KNOW them.

The Dr. said DS could have contacts last year when he first got his glasses. It was me who decided against them.
I am cool with moving the DDA dinner to another date and/or restaurant. We can do breakfast if that works better for everyone. I have us going to AK 8/10, MK 8/11, BB 8/12, MK 8/13, EP 8/14. We'll be around the morning of 8/15, but that's our departure day.
Unless it is unanimous that everyone WANTS to do breakfast, I would prefer not to. I'm not a big breakfast eater.

Me, as the hosting parent, would be Can everyone swim, and do they want to provide insurance info, just in case? Food allergies?

As a parent of a child going, I would want to know what kind of supervision my child would have, when they would be home, does he need spending money/how much? I'm sure you are going to provide a contact number for the parents, so other than that, nothing else I can think of.

So we got a Wii!! Well, I ordered one. I signed up on wiialerts.com and was a ble to check my mail today during the day. There was availabilty on walmart.com so i called my brother telling him hurry and give me his credit card number and we got it!
So i just ordered an extra remote and now were waiting for the wii fit!

Yes, they can all swim because they were all at a swim party before school started. I didn't ask for insurance info because it wouldn't do any good unless they were going to give me notarized consent to treat forms. If anyone is in life threatening shape the ER will treat them regardless, and if not, the parent will have to give consent along with the insurance info. I did mention that I will need emergency contact info for everyone.

I asked about food allergies and any foods they boys are not allowed to consume.

I included all of that. The only thing they "need" money for is the arcade. That is optional, and how much money they bring is entirely up to them.

Good! Sounds like I have most things covered! :thumbsup2

My photopass cd came today, and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you. Ok, maybe not a few. More like several.

Oh, that shouldn't be a problem. I am sure with 5 days to choose from we can manage to do dinner! I actually don't have any TS breakfasts planned for that week, except for departure day. I plan to grab a muffin in the concierge lounge and get on the bus!:yay:

Jen - congrats on the Wii. Now you need to start buying some games!

Thanks. I'm really having a hard time NOT cutting. It's the first time in my life I've never had bangs, and I can't get past my big Frankenstein forhead sticking out there! It's just at that in-between stage where the front hasn't caught up with the back, and I keep telling myself that eventually it will be okay. I'm not so sure though. I might have to end up with a little wisp of a bang or something.

Wow you got some great family photos. It looks like such a fun trip

Hunter is pretty worried about his dizziness and he really wants me to call the doctor in the morning. He also mentioned that he lost a pound. That means that he weighs 62 lbs now :sad2: I'd be willing to bet that his weight is the problem, but he just never seems to gain. He does eat, just not huge quantities. He even has candy and sweets whenever he wants which is certainly daily :confused3 I'm going to worry myself to death with him. It seems to go from one issue to another.

Okay headed to bed. Chat with you all tomorrow night or wed. depending on how busy work is tomorrow.

How tall is he? And he's in 5th grade, right? Nicholas is in 3rd, rights about 52 inches, and he weighs 59/60 lbs. My mom calls hime a bag-o-bones. He might just need some vitamin supplements. I hope you get to the bottom of it. :wizard:
