DDA Chapter 17

Tammi nice pictures, I think you look like your mom.

Deb hope the doctor can figure things out for Hunter. :wizard:

well i think im going to head to bed--goodnight all!

Good night! :)

Hunter is pretty worried about his dizziness and he really wants me to call the doctor in the morning. He also mentioned that he lost a pound. That means that he weighs 62 lbs now :sad2: I'd be willing to bet that his weight is the problem, but he just never seems to gain. He does eat, just not huge quantities. He even has candy and sweets whenever he wants which is certainly daily :confused3 I'm going to worry myself to death with him. It seems to go from one issue to another.

DS weighs 77 lbs. I think he is maybe 57"? He may not be quite that tall. He is 10th percentile for height & weight. Or he was. He may be lower now since I bet other 13 year olds are hitting puberty and are really growing. He may actually drop off the chart altogether! :scared:
Hopefully the Dr. will have some ideas for Hunter! :wizard:

Okay headed to bed. Chat with you all tomorrow night or wed. depending on how busy work is tomorrow.

Good night! :)

How tall is he? And he's in 5th grade, right? Nicholas is in 3rd, rights about 52 inches, and he weighs 59/60 lbs. My mom calls hime a bag-o-bones. He might just need some vitamin supplements. I hope you get to the bottom of it. :wizard:

I hope it is as simple as a vitamin supplement. He had his yearly check up in October and the doctor wasn't concerned about his weight then. He is in 5th grade, but I'm not sure how tall he is. He has been able to do all the WDW rides for a couple of years so he must be 54 inches or more. He is a walking skeleton and has been forever. I haven't been worried as both my brother and I were just like him. That is why our old jeans fit him perfectly. My mother was only 89 lbs when she got pregnant. I just have the habit of jumping to the worst possible conclusions when it comes to health issues.

Anne Marie I hope Katie finds her glasses :wizard:

Have you seen this? Are you 23? We will find out on March 10th.

There are apparently signs up at both WDW and DL asking this question.

There are several different bits of information out there with various guesses of what it may be. These are just a few

23 different new adventures by Disney trips
23 Disney movies being released on Blue Ray
23 anniversary of Pixar
1923 the year Disney studios was founded.

Who knows, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Bummer! This is the day after the Half and we'll be leaving Disney early that morning. I was first thinking we'd be at Disney during the announcement.

I think that I forgot to mention that we did buy the van today. Chris will have to arrange to have it moved to his dealership and he will need to get a motor for it. The outside looks really nice, with no rust, but then again everything around here is covered in snow so you can't see it all. The inside needs a good cleaning, but seems fine. Apparently the owner NEVER had the oil changed, ever. It is a 2003. It only has 62000 miles on it so I should be able to get a couple of years out of it. This is what it should look like

Katie just came home screaming that she lost her glasses. I told her to calm down but she's hysterical as usual. She'll have to go to the Lost & Found at school & see if they have them. She is complaining that she needs contacts. :confused3 Is 13 to young for contacts?
My DGD has had contacts for a year. She's 12. :goodvibes

Nice Deb!

Hunter, Nick and I did a little sewing project tonight. We made some of these

TWIN_DRAFT_GUARD.jpg

They work great on the cellar door, but not on the door to the garage as it opens over stairs so there isn't a floor to hold it on. It also didn't work over the main house door as that fits pretty tightly so the fabric gets pinched. It was easy and only cost $1.38 per door. We used fabric that we already had.

My pesticides should arrive tomorrow so I should be able to rebuild my furniture over the next couple of days. I also picked up the paint for my bathroom so hopefully I can get going on that room and have it prepped by Saturday. That would give me all of Saturday to get it painted. Of course I need to get motivated and stay that way.

With all that you do, I say you are very motivated!

Hunter is complaining of being dizzy a lot. I guess I should call his doctor and run it by him. First it was headaches and those have gone away for the most part, but now he is feeling dizzy. Most of the time it is just when he sits or stands, but other times it is when he is walking along. He says that things just go black. I can remember that happening to me all the time when I was a teen, but I don't remember when it started :confused3 Vicki didn't one of your girls have this? I'll call the doctor tomorrow

Yes, Becky was diagnosed with cardiovascular syncope if I remember it correctly. Those were similar symptoms to what she had before she was diagnosed. It happened more often when she would stand up quickly but also happened if she didn't eat right. If I remember right she wasn't getting enough protein. I'll have to ask Chuck to make sure though. I used to have a great memory but it just isn't what it used to be especially since I have been in this acting position.

Becky was the same way. It was always something with her. At times, I thought she was just a hypochrondriac. I felt guilty when she was finally diagnosed with the synchope.

That is one diagnosis that I'll run by our pediatrician. It is so hard to see our kids not feeling right. He seems fine other than the dizziness most of the time.

Hi, all,

Long time, no talk! I have spent the good part of the last week reading through Chapter 16 and up to this point of Chapter 17, trying to catch up on everyone's lives before I just jumped back into the fray. :goodvibes

I want to wish everyone a belated happy holidays, and a happy new year ahead to all. Thank you so much for all of your cards over the last several weeks - they were truly a bright spot!

I know Marci posted the news of my job loss, and I really appreciate everyone's kind thoughts, prayers, and words. I was in a bit of shock there for a while, and then with the holidays, having to clean out my office/e-mail account right after Christmas, etc., I just vegged for the first few days of '09. I think I've read about 7 books since Christmas, and avoided my e-mail account, which was a nice "clearing of the head" time. I have no idea yet as to what I will do next (although I have plenty of thoughts on what I don't want), but I am fortunate in that I have a severance package that should get me through for several months, so I'll have some time to get some perspective. That was one good thing about having been at the firm for a while - they couldn't really screw me out of a decent amount of severance.

I truly hope that other DDA'ers will be able to weather the job and economy situation. :wizard: :grouphug: It's a little unsettling how many people I now know that seem to be affected daily by all that is goinng on, and I know all we can do is keep working hard, and praying a lot!

I can't even begin to try to recap everything I read, so I will just extend a huge blanket of hugs and PD :grouphug: :wizard: , and please know that I celebrated, sent prayers/good thoughts, etc., every time I read over something that needed it.

In other news, we had a great trip to the World in mid-December. We did a lot of fun things (great meals at R&C, Boma, Narcoossee's; the Segway tour; the DIS' Toy Story Mania after-hours meet), got to see several DDA'ers (Terry, Stephanie, and Denise), and really enjoyed our time at AKV (definitely where we'll probably add DVC points once the time comes). Best of all, we got a huge amount of pixiedust when we were upgraded to the Main Building concierge at the GF - we had booked a concierge room after our great stay there last year initially, but when the economy began tanking in Sept., it just seemed the right thing to do to back off to an AP rate in a garden view room. To get that sort of an upgrade was a huge thrill, and was even more wonderful in hindsight, considering what was to come when I headed back to work that Monday.

I'm also fortunate in that I'm going to go visit my parents later this month down in FL (they've headed there for a couple of months of "winter" at my grandparent's old home), and they've asked me to go for a couple of days to WDW with them while I'm there. Unemployment does have its silver linings at times. ;)

Plus, I'll get to DIS more, and keep up with everyone here on a regular basis. :dance3:

Well, this went much longer than intended, so I'll sign off for now, and see you guys tomorrow. Night night, DDA!
