Well the family is gone. I hope they hvae a good time but im bummed.. I did good til my mom adn grandma started to cry..and dad was a bit sad
Its so weird becaue its not like i care if they go on vacations without me..it just isnt fun being the only one left behind!

Thank you. After 2 cups of coffee and a bottle of water I can almost swallow without wincing.

I need to get showered so we can go buy all of the project supplies - both the experiment stuff and the display board stuff.

The mom who wanted to copy our packet never did call me back after the other night. I don't know if I offended her when I said she couldn't come pick up our packet and keep it or what. Well, whatever. MY kid isn't the one who left the packet at school, so I didn't feel like it was my responsibility to go out of my way to accommodate her!

Shot in the dark, but has anyone travelled to Greece? Apparently, my FIL is sending Phil to Greece sometime this calendar year to do some family history research. FIL's parents and aunts/uncles all immigrated from Greece in the 1910s through Ellis Island. We know alot about names, etc, but he wants Phil and his brother to find out more in person. The crazy part is that he wants to send them each separately to work independently. Phil's trying to convince him that they could do more being there at the same time and trading notes each night, but I don't think that's going to happen. Either way, Phil is really excited about the idea. For once, travelling doesn't seem so bad. This is something he's wanted to do anyway so having it offered to him with a set time period in which it will happen is great!

So, I'm trying to figure out how to go about finding Phil the best deals, places to stay etc. Are there good travel info/discount sites for Europe?

ummm....I went to Greece....but it was almost 20 years ago and part of a tour group so I am no help.

My exboss went there for part of his sabbatical and the only thing he said about Greece is that it is horrible for renting a car!

I totally agree with this! I'm waiting for the price on the Kindle to come down before I ask for one. I think it would be handy to have for those times I finish a book, and didn't remember to pack another one. I could just download one.

I went and looked at the Borders version (a Sony Reader) thinking it might have come down in price....it hadn't...in fact they came out with a newer version that's more expensive!!

Tia I have been to Europe, but not Greece. Gary did all the planning, so I wouldn't even no where to begin with help for you. Gary is in the planning stages now of taking another trip in Nov/Dec.

So with that said, I may not be doing an August trip. Which is fine, Gary deserves to get away as well. We might be visiting someone who lives in Ohio instead

I just reserved a car through Alamo for 3 nights during our March stay. We will pick it up at the Dolphin, anyone ever pick up a car here? I thought it might be easier to get to than the car care center

The day after we arrive we will probably head off to KSC for the day & that night there is a launch scheduled for 10:49pm. This is what Gary is really wanting to see, so hopefully the weather will cooperate! The KSC closes at 7pm, so I figured we would eat & then I have no idea what we would do till the launch, any suggestion? Saturday I did not have any plans, so we will drive to the outlet malls & do some shopping!

I do need to change some dining reservations now though. I have Cape May reserved for Thursday night, so that I will have to cancel & I have breakfast reservations Friday morning. I might keep that one & see how we feel in the morning. I think I will add a reservation for dinner that night, just in case.

Gary also decided that beings we are going to KSC that he didn't need to do the Richard Petty drive again. Oh & he also wants to do the Keys To The Kingdom tour.

If I am lucky I will make it to the parks at least 4 days lol

My brother's girlfriend is going t hang out for the next few days since im still off of work..then ill be staying at my friends house with her and her son during the week..We have stuff planned and im feeling better now that they are gone--Its nice to get a berak from them and i am looking forward to that part!
I know ill get too bored staying alone for 10 days haha

Oh yeah, and Phil talked to his mom today. She said that her thinking on timeline is sometime in the next three months, but not for at least a week or two. She's working on their taxes and wants to get that finished up before moving on to the house stuff. So, I am going to check on open houses starting this next week. I'll also call our realtor friend so that she can start seeing what's out there for us as well. Then, I guess we'll start looking as we see good possibilities come up. Either way, it's real and it's soon! So so so so so excited!

That really is so exciting, Tia. What an wonderful gift to give! And to receive.

My parents arrived this afternoon and we have had a really nice day. The kids enjoyed finally being home and able to really play with the new stuff they got for Christmas. My parents got Alyssa the Barbie Cruise Ship and 2 new Barbies and some clothes. Nicholas got a Star Wars Lego set and Apples to Apples. I'm sure we'll be playing that tomorrow. This is what they got me.

Our pork dinner was delicious, even if I do say so myself.

I guess tomorrow we will just hang around the house and play. I might start putting some Christmas stuff away.

Love all your gifts! We love to play Apples to Apples so I hope you all have fun playing it today/tonight. Our pork and sauerkraut was yummy too.

I refuse to put my Christmas stuff away yet. I am still opening gifts!
