DDA Chapter 16

I just read this:

Looks like I'll be getting a gift card as this really isn't worth $75. Now I can look at things in Jan to get an idea of what I might like in May.

I wasn't really leaning towards the FP to start with. After reading this I am quite certain I will do the gift card!

I used to be able to log in...see all my memberships, points, reservations etc. Now I log in, and all I can see are my AKV points.....and MS can't seem to fix it

That's not good. It's not surprising, but it's not good!

My throat is killing me. And we absolutely HAVE TO start that science project today. Ugh.

Shot in the dark, but has anyone travelled to Greece? Apparently, my FIL is sending Phil to Greece sometime this calendar year to do some family history research. FIL's parents and aunts/uncles all immigrated from Greece in the 1910s through Ellis Island. We know alot about names, etc, but he wants Phil and his brother to find out more in person. The crazy part is that he wants to send them each separately to work independently. Phil's trying to convince him that they could do more being there at the same time and trading notes each night, but I don't think that's going to happen. Either way, Phil is really excited about the idea. For once, travelling doesn't seem so bad. This is something he's wanted to do anyway so having it offered to him with a set time period in which it will happen is great!

So, I'm trying to figure out how to go about finding Phil the best deals, places to stay etc. Are there good travel info/discount sites for Europe?

Elizabeth - Hope your throat is better soon! Good luck on the science fair project.

Thanks!

Thanks! The project is making me feel worse!

I don't even have a passport, so I am no help with international travel.
You guys are going to have a very busy year!!

Well, I at least knew enough to say that we'd better get him a new passport soon. I know he's not in that big of a hurry as we need to deal with the house first, but I also know it could take some time so at least we'd be done with it. Plus, you never know when his dad is going to decide he wants to do it "right now" so it's a good idea to be prepared.

Well, the incredible messy kitchen is calling my name. Actually, it's not too bad. The dishwasher needs to be emptyed and then filled again and it should be almost done. For some reason it just always feel like a lot more than that when looking at it. I cleaned out the fridge this morning at 6:30 so I need to deal with those empty containers as well. And I hear a baby waking up. Guess I had better go get dressed and get moving.

Have a good one everyone!

Theresa and Glynis- Would April, May, June or July be better to visit your area of the world? Are you gone/busy during any of those times? I think Glynis is going to DL at the beginning of June.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/advice.

Still catching up here: Any of those times are beautiful in Utah. I will be gone most of June to Disneyland and to Cedar City to help my father with the opening of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. We're also doing a family reunion with Alan's family in July for one week (don't know which week, yet).

I know the kids have spring break sometime in April, but I don't think we have any plans, yet.

Just wanted to stop in and say we are home. Well, Kristin and I are home. Bob is on the road again, on his way to PA. While we were in the Orlando Airport last night he got a call from one of his aunts telling him that his Mom was not doing well at all. By the time we got to Baltimore (on the flight from H E L L) she had slipped into a coma. She died this morning at 4:30.

So we drove home from BWI this morning, and repacked things for him. I will follow when we know more about the arrangements. I am hoping Kathrin does not try to come for the funeral. Financially I don't think it is a good idea for her, but additionally it is very difficult to get to Punxsutawney from anywhere. If she flies into Pittsburgh, it would still require a 3 hour drive from there. We have to see if Kristin can have any bereavement leave from work to go with me. If not, I will go alone.

We had a wonderful vacation until last night. I will report more when I have the chance. If there is anything I really need to know about, please PM me since I am not going back to read just yet.

Also, there is a package from Terry here. I assume it is another ornament and will take photos when I get it opened. Thanks muchly, Miss Terry!

I hope everyone is doing well. It is hard to believe I have been gone only a week. It feels like forever! Talk to you all later. :goodvibes

Oh, Elin! I'm still trying to catch up, but had to respond to this. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and Bob at this time! I'm so terribly sorry for your loss.

Elizabeth - :wizard: for your throat AND the science project.

No, but I would LOVE to.

Me too! We'll try to take Terra when she gets a little older, but know this isn't the time or trip. I'm definitely jealous, but really excited for Phil.

I'm feeling like a lazy bum today. I need motivation. I really must get to Nick's room and I'm working tonight. I'm feeling tired too. Hunter lost a tooth durning the night Thursday night so I waited up until 12:30 for the tooth fairy, but he couldn't seem to fall asleep last night. Chris said the tooth fairy came this morning though :thumbsup2

I realized that I have a dentist appointment scheduled for next Thursday, but I will be working at the school next week and won't be able to make the appointment. I called to reschedule, but the office is closed until Monday. At least I left a message to cancel it as I'm sure it will slip my mind to call to reschedule.

Good morning.

We took the tree down yesterday & all the decorations are gone..the house looks so naked now.

I finished Kingdom Keepers (it was originally for Katie) last night. Interesting, however it ended kind of wierd..I guess thats why there a KK 2.

Still nothing to report on the house or the move. Looks like we will be here until at least Feb, maybe March. Wish it was all over & done with at this point. The uncertainty is creating a strain on everyone in this house.

Today we are just hanging out & I need to go grocery shopping as we are out of the major staples, however I have no motivation to go back to my usual routine. I want to feel like we are still on Christmas break & that we NEED to do nothing.

Deb, was it you that asked about the Kindle? My friend Michelle had one and I was messing with it while we were in CA. I can really see it being nice to have. Totally easy to use, very easy to read and would be great especially on a trip when you could just pack that instead of several books. As long as I could get title I would want and had the money, I'd totally get one!

I totally agree with this! I'm waiting for the price on the Kindle to come down before I ask for one. I think it would be handy to have for those times I finish a book, and didn't remember to pack another one. I could just download one.
