DDA Chapter 16

You should come to Vermont. We're hoping the Chuck and Vicki make it out this way this summer. We could have a Vermont DDA meet.

If anyone is heading to Massachusetts or New York we might be able to meet up. Neither is too far from here. We are planning a trip to Pennsylvania this summer. I think it is the beginning of August. We will hit the NASCAR race in the Poconos (5 miles from Heidi if I'm not mistaken) then we will hit Hershey (Becky's neck of the woods) We may even tour Lancaster area (Terry and Stephanie) So will you guys be around the first week of August? We'll be taking our campers (My parent's and brother's family will be going too).

I should be around the first week of August. Actually both Lancaster and Hershey are about 45 minutes to an hour away from where I live. Poconos is about an hour and a half.

In 2009 Hershey is opening an addition to the water section they put in I think 2 years ago. They ripped out Canyon River Rapids and are putting in a lazy river and wave pool area.

I have no set travel plans, but my plan is to do a lot of traveling to a variety of places in 2009. The last 2 years I did one long trip to a lot of places at once, which is great way to totally relax. But I would prefer to spread my time out this year and constantly have something to look forward to. I have 10 vacation days and 6 personal days to use between now and September as I have not used any yet.

August is a long month! Plus, if they go to Hershey the week before Aug. 2, it will be July!

We arrive 8/1, Janet 8/5, and Anne Marie 8/9. Hopefully Debbie will be able to join us, too. People start going home 8/15, so that should help you choose some dates!

Oh, and Robyn is hoping to go in August, too.

We can take Amtrak from right here in F'burg nonstop to Penn Station for $102pp r/t. The killer is going to be hotel for 3 nights. And of course I want luxury, not budget. I'm high maintainance when it comes to lodging.

That is why I have never stayed overnight in NYC. Lodging is so expensive. I have only ever done day trips. Then again it is only about a two hour trip for me to get there.

I am too full from pizza to munch. Which is good, because we have PLENTY to munch on! Candy, pie, chips (DH brought home this 50 count snack box from work), ice cream, Jello, etc, etc.

DH asked me if I wanted to open the wine but the thought of wine and pizza combined with that burning esophogus thing I keep getting was kind of scary. One of these days we will drink it!

We are watching The Lake House. So far this looks like a really good show. Katrina has seen it and liked it. I like Sandra Bullock so I figured it was a safe bet.

I could probably doing Pennsylvania---a good friend of mine lives near the poconos so i could crash tehre...but id love to do hershey too..but i think the hotel would be the killer for a couple nights as a single, but id definitely be in, depending on prices/dates

Theresa and Glynis- Would April, May, June or July be better to visit your area of the world? Are you gone/busy during any of those times? I think Glynis is going to DL at the beginning of June.

Ah! Very good! I can't wait to stay concierge. I am still calling periodically to try to add those front 6 nights one at a time, and I am waitlisted for the chunk. If we end up doing savanna those nights I will just pay the $6 fee for more towels. $30 for clean towels is a bargain.

I think I'm going to call it a night, ladies, go raid the fridge and try to read some. I hate to eat this late at night, but what the heck.

Ohhhh if vicki can't do the week before then maybe the 9th will work? Check your dates Vicki. Maybe hit Vermont then head to PA the last weekend in July? Chris and I need to make some plans to look forward to. With no WDW trips in sight we need something to keep our minds busy.

We just had a late night play date. Chris, Nick, Colby and I just played Disney Think Fast. I thought that I'd have a chance since Chris is under the weather. Turns out there is more luck than skill involved...Hunter was in last place until the final round and stole the win anyway It is a fun game though.

I just realized that we have a weekend camping trip booked for July 24-26. It is only an hour or so from here at our favorite campground. I can probably move that around if need be.

I just went out and fed the fire. I guess I should head to bed. All the sleep that I've gotten the last few days has left me wide awake tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep soon though.
