Hi :wave2:

We got back late yesterday afternoon, and I've only managed to read the rest of chapter 15.

Elizabeth, thank you for all the box tops! Wow, that was quite a collection, and Alyssa is very excited! Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Thanks to everyone who sent us great Christmas cards, too.

Our cards were waiting for us when we got back, so I hope Kevin and I can get all 270 out tomorrow, so they'll at least be postmarked before Christmas! ;)

I do need Chanon's and Bob's last name though, please. :)

Have a great day, DDA! :wizard:

Good morning. :)

So far so good with Alyssa.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 That is Great News:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Good morning...

Well I spent about 3 hours in the ER last night. Apparently the pain I felt on Sunday was the start of an infection in my tooth/gum. My right side of my face swelled up a lot more yesterday evening and it is basically in my lower cheek, jaw and chin. Other than the fact that side of my face is 3 or 4 sizes bigger I have very little pain. My gums and teeth are a bit tender. We called our dentist and he wanted me to go to the ER to have IV antibiotics administered and wanted to make sure I didn't swell up to where I couldn't breathe.

So Eric and I headed off and I had a round of IV antibiotics and a CT scan. I managed to sleep some once we got home. Eric will be calling the oral surgeon in a little bit to get an appointment. So hopefully a little bit later I'll know a bit more about what is going to happen.

Oh and while we were at the hospital the stomach bug struck Emma. She has thrown up at twice that I know of.

I fear that this Christmas will be one to remember!!
Oh no. I hope they can fit you in today and get it all taken care of. That is not good at all

I'm glad Alyssa is doing OK! :)

Oh, my! I hope you are feeling better soon! Hopefully the virus Emma has won't last long! :wizard:

I also do not have a pastry cloth, or any cookie cutters.
Besides, if I treid to use a glass I would manage to break it, get glass in the dough, and cut my hand to ribbons. No, thanks! ;)

Pastry cloth? :confused3 What do you need that for. I don't have one and wouldn't even know where to buy one yet I can still make cut out cookies. And you know that glass that you can use as a rolling pin...That can cut the cookies too, just use the open end and you have round cookies ;)

I had one of the best night's sleep that I've had in years :thumbsup2 Colby slept with me and he was fine all night. I actually fell asleep around 11:30 and never woke up until 4:30. Usually I wake up every hour or so. I fell back asleep off and on until we finally got up at 9:30. Our power went out at some point this morning so we stayed in our nice warm beds and waited for it to come back on. I really couldn't accomplish much with no power so why bother ;) When I did get up I found a mini flood in the living room. Some how Riley's water fountain (watering dish) managed to empty all over the floor. I'm not sure how as I don't see any cracks and it was still upright? :confused3 I'm not sure if it happened when the water came back on or what, but my floor got a good scrubbing. I did notice that I need to move the entertainment center and computer cabinet as the dust is pretty high under there. :scared: I do need to run one quick errand at some point today and I need to make my grocery list. I'll probably run out after work tonight for the last minute stuff. There shouldn't be too many people out then.

The temperatures here were 10 below this morning and we may hit the single digits as a high today. I'm so glad that we don't need to spend any time out doors.

Robyn-you poor girl!! When my teeth get infected they never get that bad. I hope Emma feels better today!!

Janet:hug:  I understand the teeth frustration.

Glad to hear some of the kiddos are on the mend:goodvibes

Today will be finishing up laundry (6 loads yesterday just didn't finish it up:sad2: ) and baking....cookies, fudge, rice chex treats (we use chex instead of rice krispies), banana bread (per Abi's request) and Jesus' birthday cake. :lovestruc

I need to get moving. I need to get my house in order today. We are under a winter weather warning for tonight and tomorrow. The sleet and freezing rain is coming this way. I'm glad that we don't have to travel far this holiday.

Deb glad to hear Colby is better! Our youngest cat likes to head but the water fountain & then it spills over onto the floor :confused3

Theresa using chex mix instead of rice krispies sounds good, I will have to try that sometime!

With 3 cats I am finding some amazing furballs behind the furniture

Elizabeth thanks for the giggle this morning :goodvibes If it makes you feel any better I do have a rolling pin but have only used it to crush cookies or nuts for recipes lol

Good morning, DDA!!!

So many sick kiddos out there. :( I hope that they are all on the mend and feeling great for Christmas Day. I had a similar stomach virus yuckiness just before Christmas when I was in 5th grade. It wasn't quite better by Christmas plus I got horrible hives from the meds.

I hope the wether clears and warms for so many of you as well. It was negative wind shills when we flew out Sunday morning. I thought I was going to freeze to death just getting us into the airport.

To everyone else....lots of  and :wizard:!

If anyone isn't planning on using their $25 Airtran code, I'm looking for three of them please. Thanks!

Do you still need some? You can have mine. If you will PM your e-mail address I will forward the e-mail to you. :)

Welcome home! I am glad Alyssa was pleased with the Box Tops! Really, remembering to mail them was the absolute hardest part. :rotfl2: I am happy her school can use them!

I have all of my bedding in the wash (I finished all the "normal" laundry on Sunday so now I have moved on).

I am also baking cookies. From SCRATCH! :scared1: Cookies that did NOT require brown sugar OR a rolling pin. ;) They are "thumb print" cookies with plum jam filling. I have some apricot preserves that I might try in a few of them, but I don't understand the difference between jam and preserves well enough to know if they are interchangeable. :confused3 Guess I will find out!

I might make some brownies after the cookies are finished. Maybe. :rolleyes1

Elizabeth's baking!!!! :scared1: Look out! :scared:

;) :goodvibes I'm sure everything will be delish.

Well, Nicholas didn't outrun the stomach bug. He just barfed, but in the preferred spot. ;) Plus he's got a cough and congestion. Alyssa hasn't eaten anything, but is napping on the couch. She has sipped some water though. I'm not going to push food. They'll eat when their stomach feels up to it. I just hope they're well enough to eat dinner tomorrow.

Elizabeth, what has gotten into you?! :rotfl:

Peer pressure.
Besides, it is too cold to go to the grocery store, which is what I really SHOULD be doing.

Oh, poor Nicholas. :sad2: I hope they are both feeling better soon! :wizard:

I called Pillsbury and told them my place & bake cookies tasted more like sourdough bread. They are sending a coupon for me to get a free replacement package. :thumbsup2

I put the sheets back on my bed, now I am waiting for the blanket to dry.

The cookies in the oven right now have the apricot preserves in them. Hopefully that will work.

Well, we got to CA just fine. We almost got to bump from our flight in Dallas, but alas it didn't work. I was hoping for that $400 flight credit for a possible Disney trip next Dec. When we arrived we walked around DTD until Michelle could come pick us up. First thing we saw was Goofy hanging out at the Disneyland Hotel luggage desk. We also got to meet Santa in a really nice set up. I have some PhotoPass pictures which I'll load when we get home.

Yesterday at DL started out misty and grey. Unfortunately, that turned to rainy and grey, but it finally cleared up around 11 or 11:30. The nice part was that the morning rain kept the crowds low. Even better, they didn't really appear even after it cleared. It was so nice to walk around without wall to wall people. Even Main Street at fireworks time wasn't horrible. Crowded, sure, but not really bad.

Thanks to the minimal crowds, we got to do a lot of stuff. In the morning we rode Peter Pan and Casey Jr before needing to find some gloves for Terra, coffee and hot chocolate for us both and a stroller. Terra's poor feet just can't handle too much. I'm not sure what we'll do after she out grows her Maclaren. So, we rented a stoller and headed over to CA Adventure at it's opening. We headed straight to Toy Story and rode it 4 times back to back. The line still hadn't gotten to be more than abotu 15 minutes by then, but we decided to head to Soarin' instead after riding King Triton's carousel. Soarin' was maybe a 15 minute wait and then we headed to Muppets 3D. After that, it was back to DL.

Next up was a visit to Santa, Mrs Claus and the reindeer at Canyon Ranch. Reindeer Pluto and Clarabell were back there too. Terra took a million pictures and then we went to Pooh before lunch. We rode the ride and then visited with Pooh before heading to the Blue Bayou. Lunch was really good! Terra had salmon and I had the Monte Cristo. Yum! After lunch we went to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. We were headed to Pixie Hollow when we realized that 2 minutes before the parade would come by there were still curb spots. So, we stopped right by the Pixie Hollow entrance and watched the Christmas parade. It was cute as always.

After the parade we turned into the Pixie Hollow entrance and then were 2nd in line to see Rosetta and Tink. They were just too cute! Next up was the princesses where we saw Minnie dressed as a princess, Belle in her yellow dress and Jasmine. We missed Ariel in her dress by one family. From there, we headed into Toontown where Terra checked out the million and one interactive things. We visited Goofy's House, Minnie's House, Mickey's House and Chip 'n Dale's Tree House. We also saw Mickey in his Band Uniform from the cartoon where he conducts in the tornado.

It got dark enough for the Christms lights to come on while we were in Toontown so we got to see everyone's houses lit up in lights. Then, it was time for Holiday Small World. It was so nice and the rehab was beautiful. They have all new boats that are great. While we were in line, we got to see the whole video and dancing lights thing on Small World. I don't know when they added that, but I hadn't seen it before. From there, it was back to Fantasyland for Tea Cups and Alice in Wonderland which had finally dried out enough to open mid-afternoon. We also did Dumbo and the carousel before heading over to Nemo Submarines. Even that line was only about 10 minutes! By now we were starving so we grabbed a pizza slice to share at Redd Rocket's. Then it was Astro Orbiter. By now Terra was getting tired, but she really wanted to see the fireworks. So, we went to do Haunted Mansion before that. Unfortunately, Terra was tired and it was too overwhelming. She totally lost it between the stretching room and the doom buggies. So, we took the exit and I decided I also wouldn't make her do Fantasmic. She's doesn't care for the Villians scenes, but does it just for me. Instead, we did Jungle Cruise were we got the pleasure of haning out with our guide on the backside of water waiting for a tow. It was actually pretty fun and a whole new experience.

We made it back to Main Street in time to get some coffee (free refill from my morning coffee at the Main Street coffee/kitchen store!) and get a spot for the fireworks. We finished the night with some pictures of the castle, as stop for a Mickey Rice Krispie treat and a present for me at the Emporium. They had great weekly calendar that I loved. It's one of those magnetic ones that you tear the sheet off each week. I loved, though, that it had a section for dinner plans, divided places for different people and a place for appointments. Plus, the price was right at $6!

Anyway, so I meanered out of the park enjoying the ambiance and made our way to DTD for my friend to come pick us up.

Overall, it was a great day! My feet may not have dried out until almost the end of the night, but it was never crowded and we got to do lots! I'm so glad I gave Terra her camera ahead of time as she took over 300 pictures. She loved taking pictures of the little stuff all around us and I can't wait to see some of them. She's got pictures of me with characters, flowers, decorations, line queues, rides, everything! I'll definitely post some from both of our cameras when we get home.

And with that, I am going to go get some breakfast. I'm hearing all sorts of yummy words like muffins and egg casserole coming from the kitchen. We've got our playgroup reunion today. It should be fun! We're going to bake cookies this morning and let the kids decorate them. Wonder if it will go any better than the time we did that when they were all 1 1/2-5 years old? :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!!!

It's a Christmas Miracle. :rotfl: :rotfl: I guess Elizabeth found her Christmas Spirit today

Tia your day at Disney sounds perfect. You did so much. I'm glad the crowds were low and that Terra had so much fun with her new camera. I wonder how my boys will react to theirs.
