remember I said we didn't know what to do with ourselves tonight....well our entire area is under a major flood warning....and we have begun taking in water. I am so tired of this.

I think we will take shifts tonight to try and stay ahead of things

Well, crap. So much for being bored! I hope you guys are able to get the water under control!

Vicki - I agree that it's a pecan pie.

I bought a bottle of wine at the grocery store the other night and we never did open it. I am trying to decide if I would rather have wine or pie, because they would be gross together. Probably pie. The wine will keep, the pie has a finite shelf life.

stupid shop vac broke...had to run to home depot....not sure if you guys have watched the weather channel...but this area is having the most bizarre weather I have ever seen.....we also have a fog warning out. I have never seen it like this before.... and of course the 20 year old just HAD to go out tonight! enjoy your kids while you still have power over them

I ordered my rotating tree stand today. After reading the descriptions of them it seems that most of them are designed to only support about 70 lbs. With all of my ornaments there is NO WAY my tree weighs only 70 pounds. In fact, I think the pre-lit tree weighs 70 pounds by itself!

So I had to order the SERIOUS tree stand that supports an 8.5' tree up to 150 lbs. Hopefully that will suffice. It retails for about $100, but I was able to find one for a little less. With shipping it was $74. The only one like it I saw locally was $105. I must say the tree was better than I thought it would be this year. The cats have gnawed on it, and they have knocked off some of the ornaments, but the tree did stay up.

Our weather is also very strange. It was hot and humid today - the Black Pearl said the outside temp was 80! It was also SUPER windy. DH said the temps are supposed to plummet, and that will cause the winds to go up to 60-70 mph. Luckily he is off until Tuesday so he won't be trying to drive in it.

I say go for the pie, of course I think wine is gross, so its a no brainer for me.

Actually, I am so stuffed from dinner I might just have a bottle of water and call it good!

ugh I hate that I am so congested. I bent over to pick something up off the floor and got dizzy when I straightened up.

Kristine - I am confused. Where is the flooding coming from? Is snow melting and the runoff is making something overflow?

the temperature has gone up to 50 degrees....plus it is now raining. It is supposed to rain for 24 hours......the sewers aren't handling the deluge of water....so it is building up around all the houses. for some reason, I take water in on the east side of my house.

right now I am in deep prayer that the sewers don't start backing up....that's what happened last time where the neighbors got a foot of water in their basements.

They said Christmas day here was the warmest in 13 years. Unreal. I hope it stays this way for NYE so we can go downtown.

I can't imagine having to fight off melting snow AND rain. Sounds like an uphill battle.
