Off to get dolled up for my recitals. I will talk to you all tonight. Stay safe and warm (or cool) everyone! :goodvibes

So we took the kids to see Santa in the city on Saturday. As we headed over to Herald Square we were met with hundreds of Santa's walking through the streets. Not sure what their cause was or if was just for fun but my kids sure got a kick out of it.

Thank you Jennifer (tink) and Elizabeth for the Christmas cards.

You're welcome! :)

Well, I just went to Marshall's and bought 6 dress up outfits and a big, decorative box. The trunk I was going to get had more accessory type stuff, but Princess will be just as happy with more dresses and fewer accessories. Besides, the kids just slip and trip in those plastic shoes and Princess has a habit of putting her jewelry in her mouth. Better this way!

Anne Marie - Yay for a bargain!!

Elin - Enjoy your recitals! :goodvibes

I'm off to pick up Princess!

We made what Dana calls a "rookie mistake". We got their late (12 noon) on a weekend & went too close to Christmas. We usually go earlier & on a weekday. The wait to see Santa was 1 hour long. In all our years taking the kids to Macy's to see Santa we have never seen lines like this before. The queue line is akin to some at Disney with things to see to keep you busy. However the line was so long that it extended into the HR offices & training area on the 8th floor! So anyway it's Santa so we have to wait. Finally we get to the part of the queue that is fun...You go through a "train" that takes you to Santaland.

We make it to Santa. Sophie was speechless. Daniel forgot what he wanted & Katie was all smiles.

Ok so the city is very crowded, we expected that however we did not expect to get caught in a mob of people between 5th & 6th avenue for almost 45 minutes. No one was moving, it was people to people. Dana & I got separated & he got out of the mob 2 blocks over. (thank goodness for cell phones). I was actually frightened that someone would trample us & more so scared for Sophie & Daniel as they are so short they couldn't see over the people.

Well before that mess we did get to see the tree.

What? No FPs??? :confused3

Sophie looks like she grew up a lot in the last few months.

What would you all do with a rot. chicken? I got one yesterday thinking I would make chicken & dumplings....and came home without chicken broth. :rolleyes1

Anne Marie-Oh my goodness!! I love the pictures..I am thinking I would love to be in New York for the holidays. Your kids have really grown up in the last couple of months. :goodvibes

Eva just called. The roads were quite bad and she turned around. We have called the party off. I really want everyone to attend and if that means we have it after the New Year, so be it.

Sorry to hear you had to cancel, but at least your friends will be safe!

Our roads here are not that great either. I slide at every stoplight & for the 1st time ever I bought cans of de-icer. The boys were late to school this morning, I just didn't realize how thick the ice was. It is freezing here as well!

I have no patience with crowds, so it is good that we don't have anything like that!

There was some sort of Kwaanza festival over the weekend and somebody got shot. :scared1: They are saying next year they will do things differently. Yah, I would hope so! Apparently there was MUCH higher attendance than they anticipated and things got out of hand.

Theresa do you have any cream of chicken soup? I make mine this way all the time now after seeing the recipes on the board. Use 2 cans of soup, water(add carrots if you like), & the chicken. To easy & tastes great!

Anne Marie love all the pictures! The crowds sound a little scary though

Oh brother. :sad2:

Segway Suit Settled
While the 2007 suit by three people who wanted to use Segways in the parks was dismissed, Disney has agreed to have 15 segways available for rental, specifically designed to meet Disney's safety standards. The vehicles, ESVs, are similar to a common wheelchair while allowing users to stand uprights. Guests will still not be permitted to enter the parks with their own private Segways. Disney has also picked up legal fees for those who sued Disney ($70,000) and given each of the three plaintiffs a week-long vacation at Disney World with the use of one of the new ESVs.

So when one of these BONEHEADS injures ME or my family will WDW pay MY legal fees and give ME a free vacation? Asinine. :sad2:
Maybe I will say my back problem requires me to use a Segway. NOT a scooter or a wheelchair, JUST a Segway. Think that will work?

NYC at Christmas time cannot be beat but the crowds were unbelievable!!! So if you come, come right after Thanksgiving not too close to Christmas!

Thanks!

Yep, they were!
