DDA Chapter 15

We are stopping at the Portage service station I think in 2 miles.
I used to work there in Sbarro's! (If Au Bain Pan is still there, they have great sandwiches!)

(So you're east of 44 - and about 10 minutes away! It's a shame I had to work today, I would have met you for lunch!)

Well, it was a quiet night, last night. No significant contractions, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

This morning is another story, however. I sent Katie in to make sure the guest room is guest ready. She decided that she could make the bed by jumping on it, and crashed into the overhead lamp. Now the light won't work, and the bed is covered in glass shards. Grrrr! Why would an 11 year old think that was a good idea????? I'm trying not to be angry, as she could have been seriously hurt, but she wasn't, and I'm angry.

My brother and his family will be here in 2 to 4 hours, and now there is no light in their room, and our vacuum cleaner is not working, so I can't pick up the miniscule glass shards. I put a call in to Alan, and he's going to try to come home on his lunch hour and deal with it all.

Anyone want an 11 year old girl??? I'll sell her cheaply!

Nope, there is video so we know what happened, she took her own Christmas bonus.

This time of year it is very easy for a cashier to have that much in her till in just a short period of time, I've had shortages before but nothing compared to this one.

Off to work again, hopefully it will be a better day than yesterday.

:sad2: silly twit.

Everyone's trips are coming up so soon!! :yay:

Hmm.....can you apply these to standing reservations sometimes? I guess I better look into it before I give the code away. Our return flight is on Airtran.

What did you discover? We are flying AirTran next month and I have one of those in my inbox too.

And since today is Thanskgiving at my house.................

Love it! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your clan, Tammi. Will you spend tomorrow with Bob and Bethany? I would have asked you to come to our house, but you do NOT want my cold! :sad2:

And it would have been perfect lunch timing too. But Eric is on a mission, I swear he has turned into my dad. We stop long enough to empty the bladders and refill the coffee!!

Oh no, I am glad she isn't hurt but sorry for all the drama she caused.

It doesn't appear that it's going to be very warm in Florida. :(

Well, it is not hot, but I would take the 70s over the 40s and 50s forecast for here any day. You know that you will have fun no matter what the temps. :goodvibes

How is it that I've wrapped presents 3 or 4 times now, and still feel like I'm getting nowhere?! Lord help me when the girls get bigger and I actually shop significantly more for them! :faint: I don't know how you all do it.

Santa never wraps gifts that come to our house, Jennifer! He never wrapped those that came to my house when I was growing up either. Makes things much easier!

Theresa, I hope your last day goes well! :wizard:

DH said last night that we should go to Universal next summer. :headache: NO, we should NOT! We only have 9 days, and that includes our arrival day. WE also have those water park passes we have never used. So he wants to spend another $300 and go to Universal for a day? I told him we can't get through both parks in one day because there is no Fast Pass - you have to stand in the lines. I have NO interest in Universal, but for some reason DH is convinced that DS would love it so we HAVE to go. Well, I am not wasting any of my precious WDW time at Universal. Not worth it. Not worth figuring out the transportation and all that crap. I told him if he wants to take his vacation weeks back to back so we can stay for 2 weeks I will CONSIDER going to Universal. I thought that would shut him up, but he said "Fine! I will!" Well, he hated doing that last year because that was the only break he got. If he does do that I will have to change the airline ressies and we'll have to add nights of hotel somewhere. :headache: Grrr.

Why not let DH and DS go to Universal for a day and give yourself time alone at WDW? I would JUMP at that possibility. Let him plan it and make it happen and YOU reap the benefits! :thumbsup2

Theresa- 's as you put the past behind you today and start a new chapter in your life. While we aren't close in miles, know that we are with you 110%.

This brought tears to my eyes, Robyn. How perfectly you said it.

I hope the rest of your drive goes smoothly and you have a wonderful Thanksgiving visit!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I was a slug-a-bed this morning. After I let the dog out at 5:30 I went back to bed and Kathrin's phone call at 10:00 woke me up! I feel a little better and took advantage of Bob's offer to take Kristin to work this morning. I am still in my PJs and plan to stay there as long as possible. :teeth:

I want to brine the turkey breast this afternoon and get the pies baked. Then everything else will happen tomorrow.

Also, my new PassPorter refill came in the mail yesterday so I can put it in the binder and fill up the pockets with all our plans! :yay:

Hope everyone has a good afternoon.

ditto here, too! It makes things so much smoother come wrapping time.

 They won't care! Still, I hope your day gets less stressful. I can't believe how close you are to meeting Peanut! :goodvibes

I keep reading about this idea, but I just can't do it. Santa ALWAYS wrapped my gifts growing up, and there's just something to me about opening the gifts one by one, after seeing them all wrapped under the tree..... boo. I wish I could give it up! :rotfl:

Why not let DH and DS go to Universal for a day and give yourself time alone at WDW? I would JUMP at that possibility. Let him plan it and make it happen and YOU reap the benefits! :thumbsup2

I told them they can go without me. We'll see how serious DH is after he has some time to think about it. Even if he was serious about staying 2 weeks changing the flights is going to be very, very expensive. Just to do the flights and buy Universal tickets we are looking at almost $700. If we leave the flights alone and I sent them off to Universal on their own it would still cost at least $300. I am not very happy that he decided this AFTER the hotel and flights were booked. DH can't plan his way out of a paper sack, so DS would suffer if I told DH to do it himself.

Glynis, I am sorry Katie made such a bad choice about the bed! I hope Alan is able to get home and help you with the clean up. :wizard:

This is sort of cute, from my twins club newsletter:

Brian invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the meal, Brian’s mother couldn’t help but notice
how beautiful Brian’s roommate, Jennifer, was. Brian’s Mom had long been suspicious of a relationship between
Brian and Jennifer, and this had only made her more curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the
two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Brian and Jennifer than met the eye. Reading his
mom’s thoughts, Brian volunteered, ‘I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you Jennifer and I are just
roommates.’ About a week later, Jennifer came to Brian saying, ‘Ever since your mother came to dinner, I’ve
been unable to fi nd the beautiful silver gravy ladle. You don’t suppose she took it, do you?’ Brian said, ‘Well, I
doubt it, but I’ll send her an e-mail just to be sure. So he sat down and wrote:

______________________________________________________________________
Dear Mom,
I’m not saying that you ‘did’ take the gravy ladle from the house, I’m not saying that you ‘did not’ take the
gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.
Love, Brian

______________________________________________________________________
Several days later, Brian received an email back from his mother that read:
Dear Son,
I’m not saying that you ‘do’ sleep with Jennifer, I’m not saying that you ‘do not’ sleep with Jennifer. But the
fact remains that if Jennifer is sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now.
Love, Mom

LESSON OF THE DAY: NEVER LIE TO YOUR MOTHER!

Love it! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your clan, Tammi. Will you spend tomorrow with Bob and Bethany? I would have asked you to come to our house, but you do NOT want my cold! :sad2:
She's with her mother and that side of the family, so I guess it will just be he and I. I have no idea what we'll do. Maybe decorate the outside of the house, laundry and PACKING! Thanks for the thought, but you are right, I do NOT want yours or anyones cold! I do hope, though, that you start feeling better.
