DDA Chapter 14

Oh, so I went to take 2 shirts back to Gymboree today. The girl took the receipt, scanned the shirts, then told me one of the shirts isn't on that receipt. Hmm. Odd, because it was all one transaction. I looked at the receipt and it seems the girl who rang up the purchase didn't scan that one! So the girl working today told me I can keep the shirt or get a merchandise credit! :scared1: I have decided to lob this one back to Momboss and let her decide what to do about it. :rolleyes1

Quick update on Sara- They did a Biophysical Profile and have decided to keep her but I am not quite sure if that means they are going to deliver the baby now or just keep her. Sara and my mom don't know yet either!

I just found out about (at 2:30pm) a GS meeting that I need to be at tonight at 7pm. It is the leader's meeting and the director wants me to be there before she will set up the meet and greet. Insane, but whatever. The dad from the troop is going with me, I am afraid that I'm not going to remember much (just a little too much on my mind) and I don't want to deal with our old leader anymore than I absolutely have to.

More prayers and pixiedust: for Sara and the baby!

 I'm sorry that you have to deal with the Scout stuff when you have so much more on your mind!

I'm trying to decide what to have my preschoolers make for their Christmas presents for their parents. I'm pretty sure everyone this year lives with both Mom and Dad, though I'll double-check to be sure. In the past, I've done fabric paint hand prints (Rudolph, Christmas Tree, or Santa) on a hand towel or a pot holder. Which would you prefer, the hand towel or the pot holder? Would it be better on muslin and made into a small wall-hanging? Or do you have a better idea that is relatively easy and low-cost? I've never had any feed back from parents as to whether they like the gifts or not.

I vote for a pot holder. Towels get washed too much. Hangings may never make it to a wall. Pot holders don't get washed too often and would get use in my house.

if one more person comes in telling me to do the impossible today I really do think I will commit a crime or need to be committed...one or the other.

Are they functional pot holders, or the ones you would burn yourself if you actually used it?

DS made a reindeer face on a piece of tile one year. I am not sure if you are supposed to use it as a coaster or put a pan on it or what. :confused3

My FAVORITE thing DS made (and DH's too) was in preschool. The teacher took a photo of each child, then cut out the face and attached it to a felt "angel" ornament. It is a royal blue triangle with some gold braid trim, DS's little face, topped with a sprig of gold pipe cleaner for a halo. The back is a clothespin. I think the felt is probably glued to some tag board to make it stiffer. It is SO cute. :goodvibes

Thanks for the vote! That's why I switched from hand towels to pot holders last year. I need to go check prices for both again, too, to see if I can afford either this year.

pot holder

Thanks!

Thanks! We already do a couple of ornaments as regular projects, but if I can come up with something new, I could use that as a gift.

They were functional pot holders. I know that Oriental Trading Co. sells pot holders cheaply, but I don't know if they are functional. Miles made a cute tile/trivet in kindergarten, but the paint is wearing off from use. :guilty: I guess it should have been displayed, not used.

I love the little angel idea! We do something similar for the gift bag, but that would be a cute gift, too.

Kristine what a horrible accident. Prayers for the family

Tammi congratulations on your post count :cheer2:

Tia glad to hear that Phil will be joining you on Christmas!

Robyn I hope all is well with Sara & the baby :wizard:

Kristine  :grouphug:

I cannot even imagine what the family is going thru

Beth - I have always been afraid to put anything on top of the reindeer tile because I am not sure if the paint would come off.
I know one year DS made a calendar, I can't remember what he made the other years.

Thank you all. It is so comforting to know that you all are praying for Sara and the baby.

I need to scoot and get things done around here. The dad is dropping off his DD for Eric to watch. The other mom has a meeting but is dropping her DD off as well to hang out with Emma and Lily. After her meeting she is coming back her to hang out until we get back from the meeting. I need to order pizza for the girls for dinner. Crazy, insane.

I'll update everyone a bit later tonight. Thanks again. :goodvibes

DS got a 100 on his math project! That should give his math grade a boost since it counts as 20%.
Not sure what to think about the language arts grade. I guess in the grand scheme of things I should be happy if he passes and put less emphasis on the grade itself, but I am not wired that way.

I found some shorts for DS at Gap today. On clearance for $9! I bought 2 pairs for him since that is cheaper than I can get shorts at Target. I got them in the next size up so hopefully that will work. He has a ton of shorts that fit him right now, but if he grows I will be in trouble.
