DDA Chapter 14

I was checking the USPS site again last night in hopes that a Holiday Casual position would open up. Our main post office usually hires several people to work during the holiday season to help with the increased mail. Nothing had been posted so I almost gave up hope. Anyway the position was posted yesterday. It is an overnight shift so it will have a shift differential as well as very good part time pay. 30 hours per week. I filled out the application and submitted it around midnight last night. I could use all the pixie dust you can spare that I get this job. It's only a 5 or 6 week postition, but it will go a very long way to paying off that new furnace and putting a little money back in our savings. I HATE not having some sort of savings to fall back on. :wizard:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Deb good luck with the postal job! Sorry to hear about the cavity

Tammi I am just not very lucky when it comes to gambling. The most I ever won was $500 on a slot machine. I was pregnant with Riley & said he was my good luck charm :goodvibes We also had a trip planned for Disney & that money came in handy for extra spending :thumbsup2

:rotfl: And you are a cool music teacher!

:teeth:

Randy didn't get in until 4:30 this morning. I couldn't sleep for worrying about him driving home and falling asleep on the highway. Then I really couldn't go back to sleep after he got home. I had to go in late to work so I could take the kids to school. I hate that traffic in the rain! Randy works less than 10 minutes from the school, but it took me another 30 minutes to get to work. I'm just so glad he seems to be doing well. He's still one of the newest employees, so I can't help but worry.

I can understand your worry and concern. I am hoping it is not necessary for anyone on here. :grouphug:

I ened up having a cavity :sad2: I am not getting it filled until after the first of the year since I have no idea what my schedule will be like the next few months.

That is not too bad. Hopefully it was a very tiny one and won't bother you at all! :thumbsup2

Maybe you should start gambling. You were pretty lucky getting the free night and food!

He is adorable!

I've got to run and take Mary to the doctor. She's been complaining of a sore throat for a few days, and I want to have a strep culture done. I'd like to have a house free of strep before the Peanut comes!

Talk to y'all later.

:wizard: for no strep!

Bernadette- :yay: for saving so much on your trips. Sounds like you've got a grip on Christmas.

Elizabeth- Enjoy cooking class!! I found out who gave out my number, it was the old troop leader. :headache:

Marci- So glad Randy made it home safely. Have fun at the book fair!

Glynis- :wizard: for Mary and for everyone else as well.

Deb- :wizard: for the postal job. Sorry about the cavity.

Chanon- That blog is sinful, thanks for posting. Thanks for the help today too!!

Beth- :yay: for your win!!

Janet- I hope you and Gary can get away for the night.

Thanks to everyone for posting the Veteran's Day reminders. My dad was in Vietnam and it has haunted him ever since. They certainly give a lot for our freedom.

That is $500 more than I have ever won!
Of course, I have never played the slot machines or anything other than a little gambling on horses at Saratoga Springs a LONG time ago. ;)

Finally!!!

I am getting somewhere. I have a meeting set up next Thursday with the woman from the council but also finally got the number for the local director and hope I can get something set up sooner.

jennifer - who is the email from? I mean, Disney :), but is it "Disney Destinations"? I'm looking through an old email address and wanted to know what to skim for! :rotfl:

This is a picture of Bob and the girls and me next month:

I got one way airfare each way on AirTran for Bob and me for $78 and $99 for Kristin. With the $35 credit I had from Kathrin's flight I got the 5 one-way flights for $428. Our motels for the trip came to almost $500 so we have done well so far.

Now I need to figure out if we need a car or can just use ME or a town car...

ETA: :rotfl: That actually looks like us! Kathrin has curly hair, I have my "festive headgear" and Kristin has straight hair!

Look Elin!

They got a picture of you with your Christmas light headband!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Congrats on the great airfare!

ETA: I see you were thinking the same thing I was!

My Southwest flight prices dropped again!!!

I now have a credit for $2 (that if anyone plans on buying a SWA flight let me know, I'm giving this one away.) and also one for $45 that has to be used by 6/26/09. I really doubt I'm flying SWA anytime soon, so if these can be used, let me know.
