So to compound Katie's misgivings about the impending move, she came home in tears yesterday. She hurt her arm at the cheerleading tryouts & did not perform as well as she wanted. Last night we found out she did not make the cheer team that she has been practicing for weeks for. I felt so bad for her. This has been a very crappy week for my baby.

Oh poor Katie, I'm sorry this week has been such a rotten one for her

Good Morning DDA!

Well, we didn't save that much with this HUGE deal.
We did book an extra night, and I figure the $200 GC will help pay for food that extra day. So, for us I guess it was worth it. Now if they would had added free dining to the deal, then we would have saved more! Wishful thinking!
We decided on Pop too.
With Christmas, Birthdays, and other expenses coming up we thought the value was the way to go on this trip. We don't really spend that much time in the resort anyway, so why pay for the extras.
I think Leighanna will love the theming at Pop, and I am just happy to be going!
I think that we are driving too.
Leighanna is older now, and I would like her to see some of the states that we just normally fly over.
We always drove to Disney when we were kids, and I remember some really fun times and neat sites that you just don't see flying.
Plus it will be nice to have a vehicle while we are down there. We might take a day and drive around. Leighanna has always said that she wants to go to the beach and see the ocean.
We lost a whole day last trip because of a cancelled flight, so at least I know that I won't start off my trip waiting for hours in an airport.

Elizabeth, well my end of the brain sharing is no good. I just now noticed that my user name... the P is capitalized.
Um when ever I clear my cookies and need to sign back in, I use the lower case p, I thought it was case sensitive?

No clue. Our user names drop down in a little list and I just click mine.

Princess and I need to run a few errands. Post office, bank, nothing thrilling. I'm not sure what else we will do today. Nordstrom is having their Half Yearly sale but I need to stay OUT of Nordstrom.

I have noticed lots of quotes that make me feel like I missed some pages......? Frustrating.


One more thing -- Jen (bear), whatever you all do, do NOT bring up that refillable mug question elsewhere on the DIS!

The policy is that they're good for the length of the trip in which you bought them.

As Deb said, people often take them back and nobody notices (although I have heard of VERY occasional cases where they want the receipt) .... but the rest of the boards will NOT point this out very civilly!

Well, I guess I had better quit messing around with Facebook games and do something productive. First up is wondering whether the baby is going to wake up soon on her own or whether I'm just going to have to move her to her carseat so that we can get to the store. Guess I need to figure out what errands need to be run before I even think further on that.

My boys love Bakugan as well and they have been easy to find in Dallas. If you want me to pick up something and send it, I'd be happy to.

If you could find a starter pack, that would be great. I've picked him up a travel arena, and a wrist launcher, so all he needs is the starter pack. Does that make sense?

That was very thoughtful of them.
As for your Dad. Does he like to get a cup of coffee anywhere? We give my Dad coffee card at the convenience store that he gets coffee from. Maybe some designer coffees if he makes his own. Here we really just do essentials like toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, socks etc.

Good ideas! He doesn't drink coffee, but I bet I could adapt the idea for something he would like. There's a great sandwich place that I could get him GC's for!

I am sorry Katie is having such a no-good, grumpy, not particularly happy week. I agree it might be time for some mom & daughter bonding time.

This talk of Christmas lists made me giggle this morning as Abi told me hers last night: a book light and a book she can't remember the name of. That's it. I will get her a hoodie that's all her own and I just ordered a $25 Borders GC for her using mypoints and of course the things she's asked for.

Cassidy has asked for a laptop lmao: ) I told her to ask Ama and Aunt Kristi/Uncle Chris to go in on one for her. (Uncle Chris has fun rebuilding computers). Other than that she hasn't asked for anything.

I ordered what I needed to from Oriental Trading yesterday for the grandparent gifts so I am done!! oh crud....I just remembered I haven't done any shopping for the exchanges

Maybe it's time to start virtually decorating that new room

The one thing about my being the oldest, I always got my own room. Even though we moved a lot, I was able to do something special to that room once we arrived. Even if it was painting over my dressing table or getting a new bedspread, it really helped. I loved my dressing table and that made each move go a little easier.

When we made that move the summer before I was a sophomore the house had this HIDEOUS carpet in every room. It looked like somebody had vomited pizza. It was REALLY, REALLY ugly.

The Ogre pulled up the carpet and put down pale gray plush carpet in my room and painted the walls pale pink with white accents. It looked very nice. He never touched the rest of the house - the ugly carpet and wallpaper stayed until they (we) moved out 4 years later. Once in awhile he did do something nice, if it just required spending money.

The house he bought when we moved to TX was brand new construction and was intended to be a builder's model, so there wasn't anything hideous in that house.

Ok I think I have calmed down now. I am just going to keep the August trip & Oct as is. Getting one more trip on that AP just sent me over the edge though. I asked the kids what they would rather do 7 nights at Poly in spring or 12 nights at AS Suites in August & they all voted for August which is cool with me. Hopefully there will be some great deal in the summer.

Plus they get to go in October. Something new and different!

I'm so sorry that she is going through all this. Middle school is a horrible time for girls, and moms.
