DDA Chapter 14

All it said about APR was 'low competitive interest'. Which doesn't matter to me because I don't carry a balance. Yes, the $350 sounds bad at first, but the way it was written was that after you pay your 350 annual fee, you get 300 pts, which translates to $300 when you cash them in. So really the fee is only $50, which washes when you get 4% per $100, per month, when you buy groceries, gas, utilities, etc. on the card. So if I go to the store and spend $100, I get 4 points, which eventually equals $4. I easily rack up 20 pts. per month so for me this would be a great deal. Especially if they throw in the buy one airline ticket get a second free.

I agree, it sounds great!

Did you guys see that Walmart is having a pre Black Friday sale. It starts at 8 AM this Saturday (tomorrow). The ad is on there website. I'm considering picking up the $298 notebook computer. Mine's been in the shop a few times lately and I'm not sure if it will last another year. Nick has been asking for one too  It is a really good price even if it is just a basic notebook.

Ooh, I hadn't heard. Off to check it out after catching up!

Thanks for quoting me so many times that I see my grammatical mistake. I went back and changed run to ran. Sorry Amy!

:rotfl: Don't you just hate when that happens! I've realized that I don't proof-read my posts very well, and the errors seem so glaring when quoted.

I love the story, though!

I forgot to tell you all.... one bright spot last week was that I was accepted as a host to the Pre-Holiday House party...so I get to have a party next Saturday.:cool1: I am going to put up my little tree with an animal theme (thanks Elin!!:goodvibes ) and have a really, truly legitimate reason to start listening to Christmas music 24/7. I also get to bake goodies.

It sounds like an amazing party pack that is coming to me this week.

Hooray! That sounds like fun! :goodvibes

(Except, if you don't mind, what do you mean by "accepted as a host"? Is it for work? Did I miss something else? Sorry!)

I forgot to tell you all about a conversation that the kids and I had last night as we were drivng to football practice. My little man is getting quite knowledgable about government with all this election crap. :rotfl: As we passed a taxicab:

ALYSSA: Is that a taxi?
ME: Yes, that is a taxi.
NICHOLAS, in his I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT voice: Our new President Obama wants to raise taxis.

This is when I almost ran off the road from laughing.

 I can imagine!

I LOVE your kids! :goodvibes And this is why I love teaching children. As Art Linkletter said, "Kids say the darnedest things!"

'Twas a great show, too! (Along with "Child's Play", which I'm now catching reruns of on GSN) :thumbsup2

Remember those pictures I was supposed to post back in October? I am blowing off my housework because I DESTROYED it in a fit this morning looking for my wallet (Amy, no offense, but I am so glad you couldn't come over today. So are you, it has not been a pretty day in here ;)).

Anyway...

aack! holy giant pictures, batman.

they'll be back :teeth:

there is a website houseparty.com that sends out invites for all sorts of parties....2 others that I have done are a Hershey Bliss (which are way yummy!!) and a Scholastic one (that was a bust). They seem to get together with manufacturers to create buzz about their products by having people host these parties. There have been ones for baby food, ford, a couple of tv shows...I don't get accepted for all of the parties I apply for but I have fun with them when I do get em.

That sounds really cool!! Have fun!

Oooh! I've heard about those. It sounds like a lot of fun, but we aren't particularly social (in case you hadn't noticed :rotfl: ) and my house is never in shape for any kind of company.

Post some pictures of yours. What products are at the pre-holiday one that you are hosting?

Philadelphia (I know it's spelled wrong) Cream Cheese, Aerobed and a Christmas CD of a singer I've never heard of.

I am no social butterfly ( I had to think long and hard to get 10 people on my invite list) either and my house is never, ever perfect. But the party packages are great!!

The Bliss one I didn't actually have a party....I sent bags to school for the girl's teachers that said have a moment of bliss with our thanks on them.

The Scholastic one...1 friend showed up...they didn't even tell me that I was a host until really late on that one.

This one I think I have 2 coming...I told a couple of my invitees I am hoping it's a farewell party for my job. :lmao:

I am at my cousin's house we are having a yard sale. My Grandma move out of state to live with my aunt so we have stuff of hers and a bunch of baby things that we are trying to sale. The sale is today and tomorrow. Pixie dust that we sell all of it. So I don't have to try to store it.

Congrats on getting the party! I wish that I lived closer. I'd definitely come to your events. I think that I need a little pre-holiday party. I can't seem to get myself in the mood this year.

There was a really good coupon in the paper a few weeks ago for those Hershey Bliss. They are very good!

pixiedust: for a very successful sale!

Those photos are absolutely adorable, Jennifer! You reminded me that I never did scan in Matthew's graduation photos. I have since received school photos for my other two, too. They weren't anything special, though.

I told Jeff if I made 200 at this yard sale then I was definatelly booking the trip.
