Thanks, we'll definintely check it out! :thumbsup2

Hmm..... everything I multi-quoted didn't show up after Elin's. Instead, 2 posts I didn't quote did! :confused3 :rotfl:

Bernadette - great costumes!

I'll be back to try and re-catch up after feeding the girls!

Have a great day, DDA!

morning everyone!
Im off to work..i missed my kiddos the last two days and i really wanna see how they did with the subs for the first time!
I have lots to do today since tmorrow is our big halloween party/parade!! hopefully i can get home on time since i haev to go out tonight

have a great day

We do, it's just called absentee voting. It's not as strict as some of the others. For instance, if you are working or commuting 11 of the 13 hours that the polls are open, you could absentee vote. http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/cms/Absentee_Voting/Index.html

OK, right... I knew about that. Just never heard of being able to "schedule" your voting, more or less, like other states seem to allow.

Seems like an excellent way to keep the Election Day numbers from being huge during highly contested elections such as the one this year. Also seems preferable to keeping the polling places open until 10:00 that night, as Wilder and others are proposing.

Kristine Happy Birthday to Christopher! Hope you survived the laser tag lol

Jennifer thank you for looking at the wines for me, I am going nuts trying to find it online. I did have it bookmarked, but somehow lost it :sad2: If I find it again I will post the link.

Tom cute outfit!

Tammi  for today.

Bernadette love the outfits you made :thumbsup2

Terry what a cute outfit for your Pal Mickey!

Deb I agree with Tammi, I know Friday might seem inconvenient, but I think Chris needs to be there for his mother. Even if for just a few minutes

Thank you all for the Anniversary wishes!

:wizard: & to all!

I quickly did these. Let me know if you want ANYTHING changed!

Tom, another great creation for Leighanna!

Tammi - for today. :(

Deb and Chris - I know you will work out the logistics as best you can for your family. :grouphug:

Bernadette - your costumes are wonderful!

I had two little ones who came to class yesterday in T-Rex and Velociraptor costumes that their Dad made. My photos with my cell phone are lousy, but if I can fix them at all, I will share.

For what they are worth... why did I forget my camera yesterday???

Whatever happened to the separation of Church and State? :confused3

My polling place used to be a different church a little ways down the street. The place I ended up voting yesterday was yet another church! It doesn't bother me. The election stuff is always in a very plain room.

Yes he is!

Great job, Tom!

Cute outfit, Tom!!

Deb - thank you so much for the card.

Today was very difficult, but I'm relieved that it's one more step toward all this being over with. They were able to have an open casket, but he really had the make-up caked on. I'm just thankful I got to see him one last time. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I truly appreciate it.

 Lots of good thoughts for you today, Tammi.

What a day. The best part is that it is over :rotfl:

MIL called. It appears that they have scheduled the wake for 6-8 pm on Friday, yep on Halloween :confused3 I cannot think of a worse day of the year to have a wake. The funeral will be on Saturday at 11 am. We are torn on what to do. We did not care for the man, but feel that we should be there to support his mother. On the other hand we feel like we have an obligation to our kids to take them to Halloween activities. My Mom will take them to bowling league on Saturday so Chris and I will attend the funeral. Do you think it is ok to skip the wake? I wonder how many people will even show up on Friday for the wake?

I would skip the wake. It's HALLOWEEN, for crying out loud!

OK, right... I knew about that. Just never heard of being able to "schedule" your voting, more or less, like other states seem to allow.

I thought ALL polls had to be closed by 7 PM local time?

Bernadette - AWESOME costumes! :thumbsup2 Keep the dSLR. Use it to take some pics that you can sell for profit. :rolleyes1

Well, DS doesn't like the costume I bought for him (of course!) so I have to return that today and look for a different one. Yay. He doesn't have any ideas of what he wants to be, the selection is going to be zilch, not my idea of a fun way to spend the day. :sad2: He doesn't want to wear ANY sort of make-up so the zombie costume really would have looked stupid. The mask is made of some sort of plastic that REEKS. I couldn't even stand the smell when I was holding it in my HAND, let alone strap it over my face. So the mask isn't even an option. I think DS would pass out from the fumes. :scared: So I have to look for something where the face is uncovered, that doesn't require make-up, in his size, that isn't babyish. Perfect. He thinks he wants a ninja costume he saw in the Party City ad but it will be a huge feat to find it. What he REALLY wants to be is a witch doctor but we don't have enough time to pull that together, and I wouldn't even really know where to start.

The Virginia NAACP sued Gov. Tim Kaine on Monday, arguing that the state failed to prepare for an unprecedented turnout of voters in next week's presidential election. The complaint alleged that with record increases in voter registration, the state failed to provide enough polling places.

They say the only way to prevent the problems they are alleging is to keep the polls open until 10:00. The suit will be heard later today in Richmond.

Ok, Janet -- Just a quick walk through the wine aisles (without stopping anyone to ask since I didn't really remember any details), I saw the following:

Breitenbach Apricot wine (US)
Legay-Lagoute Creme d'Abricot liqueur (France)

Leelanau Cellars Apricot (US)

In general among the 'fruity' wines (excluding flavored "wines" like Arbor Mist :)), I saw a lot of pomegranate and berry wines, as well as lots of Honey Meads.

Elin - they had Menage a Trois White, Red and Rose -- your favorite?

Hey, Breitenbach is an Ohio wine! :teeth:

And no one mentioned that you should get all three yet?! ;) :rotfl:

Morning DDA!!! Sun is out and no one can get into our work parking lot today because they are tearing up the road. Go figure! Slow day at the office today!

What limo company have you all used most recently? In the past we always used Tiffany Town Cars but it appears that none of the sites that used to recommend them do so any more. Looks like most places suggest Happy Limo (hate that name!) and ***********.

Elin...

we LOVE LOVE LOVE S u n r a y!!! They were the best one we have used...they drove us to several places and didn't charge us extra...just very easy to work with

Thanks, Kristine! I will look into them too! :goodvibes

ETA: Looks like they take only cash or traveler's cheques?? I wanted to pay for this for Kathrin's transportation in advance. I have emailed them asking if that is possible.

Tammi-'s and strength to get through today.

Theresa- Continued 's. Thanks for the update on Glynis.

Deb- I agree that Chris should at least make an appearance tomorrow night. Yay for all the subbing!!

Bernadette- Love the costumes! Enjoy your DSLR.

Tom- Leighanna's outfit is adorable!!

Elizabeth- Enjoy your costume hunt!

Elin- Cute kiddos!!

Here is what we decided on.

Eric likes this one much more, so I think this is what we'll go with. He says we now need a stocked wine rack to complete the look.
