I am trying to debate if I want to go to Obama's election night party...we have 2 tickets...I feel so old...when I heard the starting time of 8:30 I just groaned.

I would groan too...then I would probably high tail it over there...of course I doubt I would ever get the opportunity.

What do you think of this for a kitchen border?

Very elegant!

Thanks!

I'd go only because it's a once in a lifetime event!!

Happy Anniversary Marci & Randi :goodvibes

Gary & I were married 19 years ago as of yesterday.

Happy Anniversary to you and Gary!!

thanks for the dittoable post, Robyn!!:thumbsup2

You're welcome!! But I'm sure I forgot someone, I always do!!

I like it but for a border I think it depends on the size of the kitchen.

Extra small is the size of my kitchen. It will go along the backslpash where my counters are and above the chair rail on the other walls. The person we bought the house from put this awful paneling halfway up the visible walls in the kitchen I have covered that with wallpaper( it has some cheesy floral print on it). My counter tops are grayish and I am planning on painting my cabinets a muted purple and the aqua/teal color from the one plate is the color my LR will be. Right now my cabinets are a bright sunflower yellow and it really clashes with the new LR/DR colors. My cabinets are original to the house and we can't afford to redo the whole kitchen anytime soon so this will give it a face lift for about $80.

Oh I like this!

Thanks Janet.

I have got to get moving. I need to throw Mo's costume in the wash and dry it before tonight and do a ton of other things as well. We are going to my grandmother's nursing home for their annual Trick or Treat party.

I will check back in later. Have a great afternoon!!!

So I just got off of a phone pre-interview for the gatekeeper of companies looking to hire that I keep doing the 2nd round of information for...so that means I made it to the fourth of what seems to be a gazillion steps with one of the positions. :cool1:

The first funeral today I was in charge of the bulletin for...I thought it was quite funny how God took that time to remind me of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.."a time to" .

So today is the viewing and tomorrow is the funeral. I'm not looking to this. He will be buried at Quantico National Cemetary.

my "moment" when I knew when I was old was when I walked into a bar and said, "eeewww it's so loud and smoky in here"

As soon as we were out of college Kyle and I started thinking the same things ..... I can remember getting in the shower at 11pm to go out :confused3 :faint:

Thanks for the information! When I asked if you vote differently, I meant the actual method of voting. If I had to face hour+ lines, I'd definitely want early voting, too.

Also, it sounds like some people can choose where they want to vote. We can vote at only one polling place that is tied to our home address. It would be much more convenient for us, if we could pick a different polling place.

This is how ours is as well. You can vote "early" by mailing in an absentee ballot, but that's it.

Happy Anniversary Marci & Randi :goodvibes

Gary & I were married 19 years ago as of yesterday.

Happy Anniversary Randy and Marci!

Happy Anniversary Janet and Gary!

Janet -- I wrote down the names of a few Apricot wines from JJ's, I'll get them here as soon as possible.

this is the first year they've really been touting it (around here at least) but we've always had some form of early voting...mainly by mail in ballot.

We haven't ever had to wait too long in line but this year may be different as we have a honking big ballot (seriously I think it's going to be 18 pages long) AND we are a contested county in a hottly contested state...don't I feel special??:rotfl2:

You say special, I say INSANELY annoyed. Ohio is always a bit of a swing state, but never like this year..... and I wish I could move! :sad2:

Gotta help put groceries away, etc. Have a good afternoon, DDA!

Yes, we have absentee ballots, too. At least I can tell you who will win NYS now. :rotfl:

Heidi-I forgot to say...got your mail yesterday!! Though it was to my grandparents house, they brought it over right away!!

In my prime I would come home at 5 am take a shower and go to work....I'd need oxygen if I ever tried that again

This is our 1st year having it here.

We always have it, but it has never been INSANELY crowded like this!

So I just got off of a phone pre-interview for the gatekeeper of companies looking to hire that I keep doing the 2nd round of information for...so that means I made it to the fourth of what seems to be a gazillion steps with one of the positions. :cool1:

Oh, good luck with the job!!! :wizard:

I used to carry a toothbrush in my purse because I never knew where I would wake up. Now I carry DS's toothbrush in my purse so he can brush the gunk out of his retainers. 20 years sure makes a difference.

AH HA! I have discovered the dirty little secret of early voting! You DON'T have to go to your assigned polling place! You can go to ANY early voting location in the COUNTY. That makes a HUGE difference!

I grabbed Princess from preschool, we popped over to the polling place around the corner from her house, we chatted with some ladies outside (they had more print materials DS can use), and then we went in and voted! TOTAL time from pulling into the parking lot to pulling out was 20 minutes max. I am betting most people don't know you can go to any location for early voting. I looked on the Dallas County election website and I *thought* that might be the case although it doesn't specifically say so. You put in your info and click for locations and it gives this HUGE long list, not just the one location where you HAVE to go on election day.

I found a costume for DS at Big Lots. It is a zombie convict. I figure he can wear JUST the costume if he wants to trick-or-treat with Princess, then if he wants to be scary for the party (8 PM - 11 PM) I can put make-up on him (IF he will let me). It came with a mask but he won't be able to work the mask with his glasses. It won't be safe for him to run around blind, so he will have to do make-up. If he doesn't like the costume we can return it tomorrow and start over. I still don't have any make-up to put on him, so that will probably require a trip to Party City or possibly Target.

You got 'em! I hope everything goes well today.

Well said. Good luck to you Theresa. I hope you find a fantastic job that will make your decision/plans easier.

That is terrific news. Love your TR and pictures!

:rotfl: I hope Bill's dental work went well.

I bundled up for the game last night, with ski coat and Uggs. I'm sure I looked a little funny, but I was the only one not miserably cold. Jake's team lost 2-0, but they played much better than they have been. I need to get my car inspected today and get a card for Randy. Today is our 14th anniversary.

Have a good day everyone!

:goodvibes Happy Anniversary Marci and Randy :goodvibes

:cool1: Happy Anniversary Janet and Gary:cool1:

Morning all, i'm once again trying to find designs for Mya's upcoming trip, creating autograph pages, journal and activity books and such. Being unemployed my not be such a terrible thing at the moment.

On a sad note though, my wife lost her Grandfather on Monday. He went out for a morning walk and someone found him laying on the sidewalk, unable to be revived. So she is over at her families taking care of her senial Grandmother, while her parents plan a funeral, arraingments and such in Iowa.

So please keep her in your thoughts. We could also use a few well placed thoughts for finances and job opportunities. Five months has gotten pretty tough on the savings and now I'm selling items that were suppose to be gifts for Birthdays and Christmas for the kids.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's grandfather:hug: I hope you can find something soon, even if it means taking a temporary job to get you through. Times are certainly tough and we are even starting to see it in our area now. :wizard:

So today is the viewing and tomorrow is the funeral. I'm not looking to this. He will be buried at Quantico National Cemetary.

:wizard: I'll pray for strength to get you through this:wizard:

I thought everyone had early voting?

We have had it a few years.

We do not have early voting other than absentee ballets that you mail in.

Happy Anniversary Marci & Randi :goodvibes
