Good morning everyone! I am off to observe at another school for the day--I have meetings tomorrow so my kids have 2 days with a sub..I have to go to my school today to set up for the next sub so we will see how they did! They were a bit nervous when I told them I would not be there though

Have a great day!

Good Morning DDA!!:hippie:

I slept, but woke up feeling like crap. My DD is sick; she is dropping the kids off to school and coing home. I can't stay home. My financial supervisor is having something done with her eyes this morning, so I need to finish payroll or no money for us.:surfweb:

Heidi, say it isn't so!! Not snow!! You're less than 200 miles away from me!!! :scared1: :scared1:

So Elizabeth,

Are you sitting down? We leave in 11 days and I haven't even started packing, I still have to make a list and I have to go shopping, I only have two pairs of jeans that I can wear. I also don't have a lightweight jacket to wear.

I had better get it in gear this weekend.

Well, there is a clause in the packing mandates when your clothes don't fit. Good luck finding what you need! I have to go to Gap after cooking class to get a long-sleeved black polo for DS. The store we were in yesterday didn't have one in his size, but I did find one at another location.

So, do I need to catch up on the last 44 pages of chapter 13 or was it most to all speed posting? Today has been crazy long and I don't know why. I spent half of it driving people around and the other half of it folding laundry, or so it seems. Our dryer isn't working so I took laundry to Kristi's. While I was at it, I folded the approx 3 tons of clean clothes at Kristi's. Okay, maybe not that much, but there was a lot. On top of all of that, I have some sinus thing going and apparently only had 1 Sudafed. That has now worn off though so I'm contemplating a trip to Target, or at least Kristi's house in hopes she has some.

Mostly though, I think I'm going to head to bed. Night all!

Ugh! Hope you feel better soon! And I hope you get a working dryer again before the laundry piles up! :wizard:

I'm exhausted. My body aches. I need sleep. I have to put my DGD's clothes in the dryer and then I'm getting in the bed.

 Feel better, Stephanie!

we have snow, 3" and its still coming down. :headache: :sad2:

:scared1: Not good!!

I have a dental appointment at 7:30 this morning. When I had my 6 month check-up she discovered that one of my 40+ year old filling was "washing out" from behind the tooth. So I get a not so shiny filling to replace it. Eventually all my old amalgam fillings out to be replaced with ones that actually match my teeth. I hope I still have teeth by that point!

Good luck with your filling! :wizard:

DS isn't feeling well. He has a cough and his nose is all stuffy. He definitely needs to bundle up for this football game tonight. :sad2: I would prefer that he not GO to the football game, but he wants to.
I turned our heat on this morning. It was 69 degrees in the hallway, which was too cool for me!

Steffy -- I hope the day goes quickly for you and you feel better soon.

Deb -- I hope you find something that will be as flexible as you have now, but much more consistent money.

Elizabeth -- I hope DS gets to feeling better!

It's really chilly here this morning -- feels great and it will warm up, but it will be cold again tonight and Jake has a soccer game. :scared1:

Have a good day everyone. :)

Good morning! I enjoyed looking at all the pictures posted in thread 13. This one made me smile..can't believe this was a YEAR ago!!
October 2007...

CapeMayBreakfast07.jpg

We had a few people interested in our house this weekend & we have another open house coming up. We had an home inspector, appraiser, & oil tank inspector come..oh & a broker open house too...I have been cleaning closets & donating alot of the kids clothes. (sad to see them go but just because I keep their baby clothes doesn't mean I can keep them babies right? :sad1: )
I have still managed to keep the house spit spot for any showings. :thumbsup2

4am we had the LOUDEST thunder storm I have ever heard..The thunder shook my house several times.:scared:

Halloween is supposed to be nice...Katie is a bee, Daniel is Obi Wan Kenobi, & Sophie is Minnie Mouse.

Have a beautiful day.
:flower3:

i just realized i go to colorado next week! wow, that cmae quick!!!

Woohoo! You're going to have a great time!

It's mostly drivel..... but about 10 pages out there are lots of great pictures you might skim through.... other than that it's a lot of not much :)

I worked tonight, but it appears that we have hit the very slow season already. I only got scheduled for 2 nights this week and since there are few customers it isn't going to be a good week. I guess I should look into a different part time job. :confused3

:flower3: I'm sorry things are already slowing down again. Good luck with your decision!

Double yuck! Heidi, that stinks! :cold:

Those Mousekeeping envelopes are so neat, Debbie. She had a great idea and your DISign improved on it! :thumbsup2

They are! Very cool, Debbie!

Off to play with the girls a bit..... come 11am there will be a whole lot of baby around here :rotfl:

I hope the next open house goes well, too, and you have a buyer soon!

This one is AMAZING!

Rum Cake

½ cup chopped pecans
One 18 ½ oz. package yellow cake mix
½ cup cooking oil
One 3 ¾ oz. package vanilla pudding (instant or non-instant)
½ cup rum
½ cup water
4 eggs

Grease and flour tube or bundt cake pan. Sprinkle nuts into bottom of pan. Mix other ingredients with electric mixer for 2 to 3 minutes. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 60 minutes. Pour hot rum glaze over cake while hot. Cool glazed cake in pan 30 minutes and turn out. May be frozen.

Glaze

1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
¼ cup rum
¼ cup water

Place ingredients in small saucepan and boil 2 to 3 minutes.

Variation: Rum Pound Cake – omit water in both cake and glaze. Use ½ cup rum in glaze.

Amy I have a dumb question - am I turning the cake out of the pan and then pouring the glaze over and putting it back into the pan or just pouring the glaze over the "bottom" of the cake?

Good Morning DDA!

Heavy frost this morning. I had to open the trunk to find my ice scraper. :sad2: They are calling for some lake effect snow flurries today. It sure feels cold enough!
By Thursday though, the temps should be almost 60 degs., and Friday almost 70. Should be tolerable for Trick or Treat on Thursday, and Leighanna's Halloween parade too.

Off to rest a bit, and then enjoy my 5 day break. I have some MAW big give items that I need to start on, and some organizing around here too.

I talked to DW about driving to Cinci for Jungle Jims. She is all for it. She also wants to stop at the Ikea store while we are down there too. I have a feeling it might not be a cheap trip!
Now we just need to set up a date when all of us are not working or at school!
I will be sure to let you guys know Jennifer and Amy. It would be a mini- DDA meet.

Tom,

I missed it on the other thread, but I wanted to be sure and tell you how AMAZING Leighanna's costume is!

Good morning... I am so glad that we are finally moving along on Chapter 14! I was sidelined yesterday by horrible sinus problems. My whole face hurt just about all day. Mo's school ended up being cancelled, they had a funeral at the church, so there was no parking as there were over 400 in attendance. The school, however did not call anyone so a lot of parents showed up only to turn around. My MIL picks Mo up and she just took her for lunch and then brought her home. Thankfully I only had the brothers and they were easily entertained by Jack the Pumpkin King!! I was in bed by 8pm last night and asleep not long after that. I feel slightly better but plan on making this an easy, low key day as well.

Oh and then Gail, at 6am yesterday, fell completely down her stairs. Neither Eric nor I heard her. Thankfully she is just a tad banged up but she said she is very thankful that she was able to get up after she fell and call. She had her girlfriend come and take her to the hospital to get checked out. The only thing they found was that she has arthritis horribly in her neck and spine, the dr said she thought she was looking at an x-ray of an 80 year. Gail suspected that is what causes her horrible back aches but never wanted to face defeat!! I did manage to cook dinner and send her enough over for dinner last night and today. She looked pretty good and was moving pretty well. The funniest thing, though, is that last Thursday she got rid of all her living room furniture as she ordered new furniture and wanted to make sure the old stuff was gone before the new pieces arrived. Eric carried down a chair she had up in her bedroom so she didn't have to sit in her lawn chairs!!

Amy I have a dumb question - am I turning the cake out of the pan and then pouring the glaze over and putting it back into the pan or just pouring the glaze over the "bottom" of the cake?

There are no dumb questions, silly! :teeth:

When the cake comes out of the oven, there are some gaps all around the sides of the pan. You pour the glaze into all those little nooks and crannies and when you flip the cake out 30 minutes later, the glaze will have sunk into the top and sides.

This cake is even more yummy the next day, so I tend to make it a day before serving. This is about the only alcohol I've consumed in five years! :rotfl:

Please keep us posted! :yay:

We still haven't been to Ikea...we've had intentions of going there to shop for Matty's big boy furniture for months.

Off to the pumpkin farm. It is cold, but luckily, no snow!

Have a great day DDA! :wave2:

Hope you're feeling better soon. Thank goodness she wasn't hurt worse.

Loved the pictures of the girls in costume, Mo's hair looked cute with the flower, and Lucy is another one growing up waaay too fast.

This is the only Halloween picture I had on photobucket,

Brandon's makeup was pretty smeared by the time I took the picture

That's one of DD's friends and her baby, my house has become the Halloween place to be. I need to pick up the ingredients for chili while I'm out today.

Good luck! I hope it's a smooth, quick appointment!

Off to play with the girls a bit..... come 11am there will be a whole lot of baby around here :rotfl:

It was quick and painless. I opted for no Novocaine (or whatever they call the stuff they use these days ;)). The shot for that would have hurt more than the entire procedure did!

I hope you have fun with all those twins today. :lovestruc :lovestruc :cutie: :cutie:

:yay: If you're at Ikea, you'd be less than 5 miles from my house! Depending on how the timing works out, we'd be glad to meet you there, Jungle Jim's, both, have people here, whatever! I can't wait! :goodvibes

Oh, I hear you! The only time I ever get Novocaine is for certain root canals. I HATE being numb like that, so I get all the rest of the procedures done without!

I'm glad it went well!
