DDA Chapter 14

Elizabeth hope you can get the principle to listen to your concerns. :wizard:

I do have a rant (surprise, surprise). When I originally sent the laptop back I was given a return delivery date of 7-10 business days. That would have been today or Monday. Yesterday I came home to this very long voice message that I could not understand at all. It took listening to it 4 times (I am not exaggerating here!) to finally discern the following two words: El-een and notebook. Then I knew it was for me and was probably about my laptop.

The woman on the phone spoke such poor English that I almost deleted the message. It is abysmal that companies allow this to happen. I called HP and after 5 minutes of voice prompts finally got a CS rep with the same lack of English skills. Can any of us believe that in these economic times an American company cannot find people who speak English to answer these calls? Their excuses in the past have been that Americans demand too high a salary and it is cheaper to outsource CS and tech support overseas. BALONEY! I don't care where someone lives or who answers the phone or makes a phone call to my home, I expect to be able to understand them.

If Old Bessy here is up for the challenge I think we will surf around the HP site a little to see if I can send a letter to someone. I do actually have a phone number for my case manager who is in Canada. He speaks English and might be able to help me! :headache:

I couldn't have said this any better!

I do hope you get your laptop returned soon :wizard:

Theresa pixiedust: pixiedust: for the interview. And you are better then me, I would not be giving them 40 hours and 2 weeks notice.

It will be just the three of us for Thanksgiving this year. So I am not planning on doing a lot of cooking to make it work! I would love to order a fried turkey breast somewhere, or buy it already cooked and ready to reheat. I would then add my own sides and desserts. Does anyone know of an online place to get a good deep fried turkey breast? Or, Tammi - do you know of anywhere local that has them available?

Momboss had the Neiman's food catalog yesterday. I can post the turkey info for you when I get to work. ;) Be warned that everything in that catalog was running $8 - $10 PER SERVING. (Seriously? Who pays $80 for a pan of potatoes?) But you did say you want a GOOD turkey! :rolleyes1

Tammi I know I am slow, but your check is going in the mail today!

Thank you again :goodvibes

Elin don't know how good they are, but you could probably get a turkey from QVC.

The website is now saying delivery by December 1. Although the gentleman I spoke to yesterday said it would probably be sooner. At least I think that is what he said.

Have you personally tasted it? There are lots of good companies that have them out there on the market, but not all of them are good. ;)

I then went to the car and called back a job lead....more than 200 people had applied for this job and I have one of the few interview spots. :cool1: I told her that I just gave my resignation and that I needed to give my current employer the 40 hours a week for the next 2 weeks. She scheduled me in for a 5:30 interview.

I hope one of your leads works out! Hang in there!

Good morning Elin and Tammi,

Today is our last full day :sad1: , it's Magic Kingdom again with dinner at OHana.

I hope you have a truly Magical day!

Thanks again for the advice for my hometown friend and MVMCP. I told her whatever date she picked, it needed to be a weekday. She's now very excited to try it!

My forehead looks a little strange today where the dermatologist zapped me, but I have bangs, so for the most part, I don't look too much stranger than normal. My leg no longer burns and the place where they did the biopsy isn't bothering me either. :yay:

I better get moving. The boys are out again today, and they are home alone for a couple of hours while I grab more stuff from work to work on at home.

Take care everyone!

http://www.honeybakedforyou.com/menu/SGTurkey.aspx I'm a HoneyBaked Turkey girl myself. (Turkey, yes; ham, no.) But it's not deep fried though!
Have you thought of checking at maybe Sams Club or Costco? :confused3

I actually looked at them, Heidi! :thumbsup2 There are some not so wonderful reviews of some of them so I was hoping that maybe one of you had eaten one before. Omaha Steaks has one too but I have not ever had one from there. Lots of other things from there are good too.

I have never even heard of "deep fried turkey breast".:confused3 :rolleyes1

I guess its like fried chicken? How about KFC for T-day??? I know, I know.... I am not very helpful with the cooking dept.

We have a HoneyBaked store here in town. The prices on the website include S&H... $78 for a half ham and $60 for a turkey breast! Price is not the only deciding factor but those prices are certainly high!

Don't belong to Costco or Sams or BJs. We never need to buy in bulk and they are out of the way for me usually. Do you find it is a cost saver for just the two of you?

Well I am off today to Abercrobie, Toys R Us, & Target for some Christmas shopping. We already have Wii Fit & several games for Wii so we have a good start. I did order my Christmas cards & have some of the done & addressed.

In my store we have the holiday music going, stockings, ornaments, tree toppers & wrapping paper out..just feels like I am not ready though!

Have a beautiful day everyone.:grouphug:

Tammi-DH doesn't want me to take all 3 kids because he doesn't think I can handle them.:headache: He couldn't get himself to Orlando without me so he possibly believe that I could do it. He thinks I'll loose them but the only time we lost a child anywhere was when Emma pulled away from him at Disney and he let her go (during the DDA meet). He also says he couldn't take the worry of all of us in a plane without him. I guess he'd be OK loosing me & 1 kids but not all of us. Maybe he'll come around when they are a bit older. Or maybe he really will want to go back if we take a break. I'm happy to take them 1 at a time for a couple of years.

My dh was fine when I booked the trip with Miles and Laura, but he was a pain about not being able to go (and still brings it up). He didn't even want to go to WDW again! I think it's about missing something. Not really wanting to go but not wanting them to have the experience without you. I don't know, though, since your dh doesn't mind you taking one at a time. But maybe if the whole family except for him is experiencing something without him, it feels different.

Beth-loved your TR photos and I think your school photos look good too! Thanks for the positive review of the lens pen. I think that is on my serious list. I did check the specs for my tripod and it will hold my camera. I wasn't crazy about the head when I used it but I think I've got to give it another try as it gets very good reviews on B&H Photo. I "only" paid $59 for it and it is nice and compact. I'm thinking I need to try to take photos of Wishes from the Poly beach. I think I might just try my current SLR Gorilla Pod before buying an SLR Zoom one. I mostly used it on my Sony as an extra hand hold.

Thanks! What kind of tripod do you have?

Elizabeth - I hope you are able to get to the principal easily to explain your concerns and fears. That is a serious incident and I think you should have been notified. Middle school sucks and this is just one of the reasons. :(

Yes, fortunately I have two through middle school largely unscathed. One to go...
