One of our former students who has gone on to become a professional musician and is home from Europe visiting her grandmother came to play and sing for us:

It was not supposed to get out of the 50s yesterday so we were all layered up and looking like little kids going out to play in a snowstorm And then there is the requisite festive headgear :

It was after 12 am here, I go back in after I drop the boys off at school

who is going to watch them for you? Is there somewhere that they want to go (besides Disney of course) that the person(s) watching them could take them?

I guess I would tell them soon, allow them to get use to the idea. Also maybe an offer of a t-shirt or sweatshirt brought back, would soften the sting.

You are correct Deb! They do understand we need our time, but where we are going is there place as well.

I still have not told them. I know I have to, just not sure when.

Our temperatures have certainly dropped. Highs this week in the low to mid forties with below freezing at night

We could even have snow flurries. I guess we may really find out how that furnace works.

I was just checking or forecast & it is only 16 degrees out Looks like it is going to warm up some this week though & be up to the 50's by Friday!

They will be staying with grandma Garrett loves staying with her, so I see no problem there! Riley does as well, but he tends to get bored easily. She usually does something special for them when they stay with her. It will all work out, I will probably tell them after Christmas lol

Good morning, DDA!

Ugh. I am tired. DH is off today so I didn't get the bed all to myself from 2 AM - 6:30 AM like I usually do. DH was up at 4:50 to use the restroom but he didn't stay up. When he got back in bed he was yanking the covers, the cats got all wound up, he was trying to get them to be quiet and he was making more noise than they were!
I would have moved to the couch if I had enough energy. It's going to be a long day.

It did make improvements, thanks! At least my throat wasn't totally burning and the coughing just ugly this time. Love your pictures! What a fun event.

Ugh! Mom would totally feel your pain. There are often nights when Dad goes to bed around 3 or 4, waking mom up in the process and then she can't go back to sleep. Or he starts snoring up a storm and she runs away to Rachel's room. I hope that your day goes well or you can at least sneak in a little nap sometime.

Truth be told, this shower has sort of been but just a blip on my calendar. I've not made one list, which normally I would have had 4 or 5 by now. Everyone is sort of pitching in and bringing this and that so I'm really only in charge of the location and the cake, which I ordered at Costco.

I know why I'm not sleeping and I fear that it's only going to get worse before it gets better. There is a situation that has presented itself in the past week that I am having a hard time internalizing and dealing with. I hate to be so cryptic with everyone as I wish I could share more but I just can't.

I hope that there is a good resolution for you soon!

Laura wants one of those. She also wants the $300 dinosaur that you can ride on. Guess what two things she isn't getting for Christmas! Of course, I don't have any better ideas for her.

Jeff asked me what I wanted for Christmas last night. I really can't seem to think of anything to tell him.

Dh just bought me a new monitor (now I can actually see details in photos that people post). I can't think of anything else that I really want (that we can afford).

I know that it would never be worth it for us. I don't even think we'd do the DDP again at all. Maybe the counter service or DDP for part of the trip.

The DDP doesn't really work for us either. It all depends on what other discounts are available and how you eat. I thought the DDP was fun the one year we had it "free" but it doesn't make sense for our family to pay for it especially with tips not included.

and my favorite co-worker and the girls piano teacher playing the Phantom theme on the organ, amazing!!

I miss piano recitals. I really should have started Miles on piano, but I guess the rest of life just got in the way.

My other two really didn't have much talent and didn't want to work too hard at it. Musical talent is one thing that I always wished that I had.
