I am off to get Mo and Lu bathed and in bed. It's beyond bedtime around here.

Oooh, cute, little baby things! It looks like a good time.

Well, their not trip pics yet, but I did upload some things this morning....

Terra's perfect pumpkin (it had to be just right for her vision, you know)

Theresa the girls looked like true sisters in the last photo :rotfl:

Robyn I'm glad the shower was a success. The Mom to be appears to need a little sleep though, she has some serious dark circles :cool2: Did she get everything that she needed?

Nah, she always has those circles!! She got a lot and more, over $200 in gift cards. A diaper bag, pack and play, and lots of cute little boy clothes and other little necessities
.
Theresa - I hope the girls had fun at their recital! :)

Robyn - It looks like your sister got some nice things. Is your niece excited?

She is very excited but I fear in for a huge shock. She is also going to have a hard time with not being too helpful. Every time she is around Lucy she has this need to take over and follow Lucy around. Picking her up and generally just being in her face all the time. And when you tell her to back off she gets all weepy and sad. I am so thankful they don't live with me any more. ;)

Hi! Busy day here. Lots of running around shopping. I've got Nicholas' bedroom furniture all picked out. It's actually different than what I posted and I found a good price (I think) at a local store. Tomorrow I'm going to call a few other places and then order it from whomever gives me the best deal. We had a party to go to for dinner, burgers and dogs on the grill. It was nice to socialize with some friends I haven't seen in awhile. The kids were exhausted from all the running around and playing. I can't believe the weekend is over already. :(

We drove past Elin's music school twice today. She was all decked out in her Christmas lights headband. I wish I would have thought to snap a picture with my phone. The kids got a kick out of it.

Theresa - the girls looked lovely.

Robyn - I'm glad the party was a success. That cake looked AWF
ULLY chocolatety! MMmmm!

Yay for finding Nicholas' furniture, :wizard: for a good deal.

The cake was awfully chocolately. Chocolate cake, with cheesecake filling and chocolate icing.

You don't have to share what is bothering you, Robyn. Just know you can come here and talk it out when you need to.

Thank you Elin.

Well I am home..I had a great trip and do not want to be home at all! The airline also lost my luggage-ugh! of coruse, my teacher manuals are in there...figures!

but im home and tired so i tihnk its time for bed

:yay: for a great trip, sorry that it ended with your luggage being lost. Hope it's found quickly.:wizard:

How fortunate are we that we can't think of anything we need or even particularly want for Christmas? We are a very lucky bunch! :goodvibes

I agree that we are a pretty lucky bunch. Afterall, we have each other here when we need them most sometimes. :goodvibes

Theresa & Robyn thanks for sharing your pictures!

Tammi glad you found the furniture you want for Nicholas room.

Deb :yay: for getting a start on Christmas shopping!

Elin I hope the motrin helps your back, my whole body is aching right now.

Jen glad you made it home safely, hope your luggage shows up soon :wizard:

Becky I wold love to meet you if you decide to go in March :thumbsup2

Work went by pretty quickly tonight, thank goodness! I need to get some sleep, morning will come to early.

I am glad that work went quickly. I hope your not as achy this morning.

I hope your new routine of meds-taking worked for you and this morning is not too bad, Tia!

Ditto!

We're off to the eye doctor's for Hunter. Maybe we'll discover the root of his headaches :headache: I am working at 4 tonight too. The school called this morning even though I had told them that I couldn't sub today or tomorrow. It would have been fun too, I could have been the PE teacher.
Oh well, I'm just glad that opportunities keep presenting themself.

Have a great day.

I hope the dr. can help Hunter with his headaches.

Good morning, DDA!

Ugh. I am tired. DH is off today so I didn't get the bed all to myself from 2 AM - 6:30 AM like I usually do. DH was up at 4:50 to use the restroom but he didn't stay up. When he got back in bed he was yanking the covers, the cats got all wound up, he was trying to get them to be quiet and he was making more noise than they were! :headache:
I would have moved to the couch if I had enough energy. It's going to be a long day.

:wizard: that the day flies by!!

Laura wants one of those. :rotfl: She also wants the $300 dinosaur that you can ride on. Guess what two things she isn't getting for Christmas! Of course, I don't have any better ideas for her.

Terra has the dinosaur at the top of her list too. Not happening here either. ;)

Theresa - I hope the girls had fun at their recital! :)

Robyn - It looks like your sister got some nice things. Is your niece excited?

Deb - The cat might need to go to the vet. When Alley would wet on things sometimes it was because she had an infection. As she got older she would do it just because she wanted to. Once we got to that point we never knew where she was going to pee next - that was so frustrating. :headache: I hope you guys can get it figured out!
Oh, and I have read that rubbing a pet's face inthe mess never works, regardless of species. They don't have the ability to connect the 2 events - they don't comprehend that you are rubbing their face in the mess as a punishment for the mess being in an inappropriate place.

Our cat also starting peeing in the bathroom when he had an infection. Then he kept going there. The vet recommended enclosing him in a small room with just food, water, and litter box any time that he wasn't directly with us. It seemed to do the trick. He made a couple of other messes on the bathroom rug when we were gone for two weeks this summer. I guess it must have been a protest, because he stopped fairly quickly after we were home.

Thanks Tammi... I did... as you probably noticed when you drove past twice today. Were you guys stalking me???? :rotfl2:

Not one child noticed! Or they never said they did. :confused3 One parent commented on my makeup (same as always) and another on the longer length (I haven't seen her in a few months). One Mom came up to me and said, "I have been looking at your hair all afternoon and I am SO glad you did away with the highlights and just went with the wine color. I LOVE it!"

So, it will stay for a while until I live with it a bit. I actually liked it better when I looked in the mirror this morning. It is starting to grow on me.

I went back and found the photos. I like your hair! It takes a little while to get used to a change (even a good one).

Well, I think I'm going to give up on my daughter waking up soon and just run to get my cup of coffee. She'll wake someone up if she needs them. After that, she has dance this morning and then we're going to rearrange the playroom. The kitchen we picked up last week is still in my trunk as there isn't room for it until we clean up and out some. Hopefully I can use the kitchen and her Christmas wish list to convince her get rid of a few things.

They will be staying with grandma :goodvibes Garrett loves staying with her, so I see no problem there! Riley does as well, but he tends to get bored easily. She usually does something special for them when they stay with her. It will all work out, I will probably tell them after Christmas lol
I think they will be fine with it. Disappointed, yes, but they will adapt to the idea, especially knowing that they are going in August. I feel strongly that kids need to learn how to deal with disappointment, and know that there are things that don't or can't have. Even in one's own family. One child may not get what the other child gets, and vice versa. I try to make mine focus on what THEY GET, not what OTHERS get. And having Mom and Dad go to WDW ONE TIME without them, in the grand scheme of life, isn't that bad. Like in Bernadette's family, where she takes one child. I'm sure it's hard for the others to say goodbye but they know their time will come. I think that is wonderful. I'm hoping to be able to do that someday. So I think this is good for your boys, Janet, as well as good for you and Gary. :thumbsup2

Our temperatures have certainly dropped. Highs this week in the low to mid forties with below freezing at night
SmilieFreezinghatscarf.gif
We could even have snow flurries. I guess we may really find out how that furnace works.

We had a few flurries this morning. :sad1: It's 35 outside now, and the house has dropped from 72 to 68. I'm thinking of turning into a bear and hibernating for the winter.

Actually, I still don't have any motivation, but I did force myself to do a couple of small things around here on Saturday. I think I'll try that again today.

As promised... a few photos from yesterday's festivities.

It was not supposed to get out of the 50s yesterday so we were all layered up and looking like little kids going out to play in a snowstorm :rotfl2: And then there is the requisite festive headgear ;) :

IMG_1597.jpg

Great photos, Elin! I really like the requisite festive headgear!

Adorable photos, Tia. Terra is certainly growing up!

Good Morning all. :)

Morning back :)

 I hope that there is a good resolution for you soon! :wizard:

here to...seems like winter is definitely here to stay

Ugh, so sorry.

Oooh, cute, little baby things! It looks like a good time.

I really never thought boy stuff was that cute until yesterday. :cloud9:

Well said Tammi and I agree completely.

I'm exhausted today, too, but I don't know why. I hope the day goes more easily than you think!

I hope you can find a little downtime for yourself Beth.

I have some calls to make to the GS council. It's becoming a not so favorite activity of mine. :headache: No one there likes to return phone calls therefore making it impossible to get anything done.

Tammi, I couldn't agree more -- kids DO need to learn that things don't always go as they'd like.... too many of them don't ever learn that, and we know what kind of adults they turn out to be  ;)

Tia - thank you for posting those pictures, they made me smile! Terra is getting so grown up and is absolutely adorable. I LOVE those freckles! :goodvibes

Good morning, DDA! I probably won't be on much today. It's yet another half day of school for the elementary school. Miles will be home at 11:00, and I'm also watching his friend today. I think that it's great that all parents are able to have conferences with the elementary teachers. I certainly don't think that the teachers should have to put any more of their own time in, because I know that they already have a lot of extra work for conferences. BUT I think that 4 half days in November is too much. It would be easier to have two full days off from a child care scheduling standpoint, but then we wouldn't get "credit" for those days of school. That would be like adding two full days to the teachers' schedules. I guess to reap the benefits, we'll have to take the inconvenience, too. I work only two days a week, and three out of four of the half days fall on my work days. I only need someone to watch Miles for about an hour or so, but it's hard to find someone. Next Thursday dh is taking either a long lunch or working at home for a half day. That will be the final half day.
