Hi! Are you still thinking about a trip the first week of May? I'm wondering if I should book AKL Concierge as it will be my birthday.:rotfl:

I really want to, but it all depends on how our money is. At least 1/2 the flight is paid for with the voucher I have :thumbsup2

If you book AKL concierge, I want to stay with you :rotfl:

Wow, I didn't realize that it opened just yesterday :cool1: :cool1: Chris and I are in agreement that we will have dinner there Saturday night. Shhh the boys think we'll be at Vero Beach:rotfl2:

Awesome, you will have to let me know what you think!

Elizabeth, I know you are all about cake, but I have pumpkin pie. Want some?

Yum! I've been craving pumpkin pie for a couple of weeks. I was going to ask Chuck to pick up some premade crusts for me so that I could make one tomorrow.

If you all could add my friend Barbie to your prayer lists...

She was hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver last night. The other driver died instantly. Barbie is very banged up with a broken femur. She had two of her four kids in her car, and thankfully, they are fine.

Barbie's having surgery today at 2 p.m.

Thank you! :grouphug:
Definitely! :wizard: :wizard:

We went on our college visit on Monday, and I definitely got the feeling from Matthew that "this is it." It suddenly seems so real to me. I don't know if that is just because the other visits were so long ago or if it's because I could actually picture him there. Unfortunately, it seems to hit hardest just when I'm trying to go to sleep, and then I can't get to sleep. It's a mixture of :woohoo: and :scared1: and :guilty: and :sad1:. I am proud of who he is and who he is becoming. I know that this is what we've raised him to do. I know that we have done what we could. I just think that I could have done more and wish that I could go back and do it again. And also, I'll really miss him.
:grouphug: Of course you will! Be proud!

I was the only one of our group that wasn't going crazy....most were crying and carrying on for months prior to their kids leaving. I felt so good about where he was going and his accomplishments.....fast forward to the day before we left to take him to college....it was like the floodgates opened up....I cried the ENTIRE day...thank god for valiumn...

the next year I would cry after every visit...

the next year I would feel a little sad after every visit

the next year...I am a little relieved to see him go :rotfl2:

hang in there...it gets easier
:rotfl:

O' you should have him get the crust. ::yes::

So we had parent teacher conferences for Abi this afternoon...she is one smart cookie:goodvibes Even with a couple of missing assignments in a couple of classes her grades are 89.22, 89.5, 90.51 and 94.99 in her core classes (I am going to assume choir and band are still good).

I have to make (okay cut, ball and bake) some cookies....I would be doing them from scratch but I am just tuckered!!

That's great. Isn't it nice to have good conferences :cool1: :goodvibes

We're watching aladin on the Disney channel. Nick is back in hugging mode. He's been high fiving us lately, but the trip is coming soon and he is in hug mode again :lmao:  Every other word out of the kids mouths has to do with the trip:cool2:

No, there is no such thing! But it sounds like your visit went very well and the new doctor is good.

Beth, call and make your follow up appointment NOW. Put it on your calendar. You can call and ask for more info or you can skip it, but do schedule your next appointment. If they thought it was anything truly weird you would be back in the office immediately, not in 6 months.

We looked into stopping at the one in Kansas City, but our schedule didn't work out right for it. It looks like a lot of fun with food about the same quality as Rain Forest Cafe (which I also have never been to). It is a bit pricey, too. I haven't heard any reviews specific to the DTD one, though.

My cousin and I had tossed around the idea of going to the one in KC but we never went. They are owned by the Rainforest Cafe people, so I imagine it is almost the same food with a different theme.

Absoultely--HOpe all is well!

My observation went really well! We have to meet to talk about it (normal) but she said excellent :)

Glad it went well! :thumbsup2

Dumb question? I should check in online for our flights tomorrow right? We are flying Airtran. Also, if I say Emma has 1 bag and we end up with just 1 between us will that matter?

No clue. I've never flown AirTran.

Thanks Janet! We are all checked in. Shh, don't tell Elizabeth, but I haven't started packing yet.

WHAT is wrong with you? :scared1: Pack some clothes! Chop chop!

Yay for good grades!

It is nice...I was espescially worried because she has the same science teacher as last year (the one she never turned homework in for last semester). All of them said she was a joy to have in class.:lovestruc I also feel better about her english teacher....he hasn't taught english in 5 years and hasn't ever taught honors. We discussed "proper" titles for a kid who can read at a college level but covers her eyes at kissing scenes in movies. :rotfl:

How about mom and dad??? :confused3

What an amazing time you all will have....what a great spur of the moment thing.

My waitlist came through for December! It's all booked on points! :woohoo:

Terrific!

DS doesn't like cake. Once in awhile he will eat a cookie or some candy but he really prefers plain vanilla ice cream.

Now see, if I did that I would get caught and they would charge me for all the stuff. Good thing I booked concierge for next time.

I agree! Everything looks wonderful! :goodvibes

I feel that way today. I went to parent conferences looking like the bride of Charles Manson. :headache: I am way overdue for a haircut, but my precious Landon still hasn't made the move back to Dallas like he said he was going to so scheduling has been a challenge. I DO have an appointment with him tomorrow.

No cake! Blasphemy I say!

Is it that far? I thought my ExBosses used to make the drive to Austin in about 3 hours? Maybe ExDadboss just drives really fast! :rotfl2:

Bernadette - Where have you been? Is everything OK?
We can make it in 3 1/2 hours from Kaufman.

I have to vote Chris in as the DH of the day. He just helped me do my bikini wax :scared: The poor man kept saying that he thought it would be much more enjoyable for him :rotfl: Nope, not enjoyable for either of us :rotfl2:

Good for him!

I am back from the Dr. She is very nice! She said I don't need to make an appointment when I go in for Depo shots - just phone and ask the nurse what time is good to pop in. That certainly sounds better than the office where I was going!

She said she does not feel like my mom's cancer raises my risk above what it would be anyway, so no mammogram for 2 more years. :)

She also said there isn't any need to be overly concerned about bone density loss from the Depo so I don't need a bone scan and I don't need to take a break from the shots. Yay!

And I got my flu shot! :thumbsup2
Terrific news!

Prayers sent! That is so scary.

So, I have never heard anything back from my doctor's office from the mammogram or the echocardiogram that I had 3 weeks ago. Today I received a letter from the Breast Care Center: "We're pleased you recently visited the Breast Care Center. Based on your results, our radiologist recommends you have a repeat mammogram in 6 months. This is a routine procedure for findings on a mammogram that have a high chance of being normal. However, it's important you follow-up as recommended." Is this something I should worry about? Call up and ask about? Just wait and schedule in 6 months and not think about until then?

When mine came back, they asked me back immediately. Although it doesn't sound serious, I think you would worry so I would ask to go back now.

Beth,
I had a baseline mamo a few months ago. Came back positive for calicifications. I was told that I should have another mamo in Sept (6 months from the date of 1st mamo). There was no way I could wait that long so I requested a breast MRI which looks at the breast much more closely & with a better rate of accuracy than a mamo. Thanksfully that came back clear. :worship:

They told me that alot of woman are called back & that for the vast majority of them there is nothing wrong so please don't panic (like I did) & maybe ask your dr if you can do an MRI or other options they may have to test you. Good luck, don't panic, but I would call the dr to discuss this.

Ditto!

Congrats!

I'm over in Ft. Worth at a HR conference. It's cooler here in Texas now -- I like that. I've had great sea bass and two glasses of wine. I'm not about to spoil my good evening by listening to those two debate. I think I'll start reading my book. Have a good evening everyone!

Katrina's in her room yelling at the TV. Can you tell she is listening to the debate? She likes this moderator because she says that he made them stop talking about what has happened in the past and talk about what they would do to make a difference. I can't watch it. It would drive me crazy.
