DDA Chapter 13

Tom,

Love the hair, it's one that we used to do for dance competitions and recitals.
I also liked the double french braids, they look great and stay in place even with all the dancing.

I love double french braids, too. Alas, I'm hopeless with hair. The most Laura ever had were lopsided pigtails. Thank goodness the girls do their own buns for synchro now.

im off of work tomorrow (YAY!!!) so i think im headed to bed and try to relax...i cannto be sick!!!

Goodnigh

I'm glad that you get a day to rest!

We have school today, but we're off Friday and Monday. I don't teach Fridays or Mondays, so it doesn't do me much good. The kids need a day to sleep in, though, so they are happy for Friday. Monday they still have cross country practice and then we're heading to Syracuse to look at schools.

DD and Brandon are here to spend the night. My SIL is working in Houston and they were home alone. There was a carjacking in New Orleans, well they ended up here, the car was found at the community center with a dead body and an injured person inside. They captured three of the four people but the fourth escaped into the woods, the woods that surround their house, I told her just to bring Brandon and stay here.

That is scary! I'm glad that they were able to spend the night with you.

How exciting, Tia! Somehow I missed this last night as I was reading. :yay:

I think I added it right after you posted your good nights.

I came home expecting Phil to discourage us from going for awhile. Instead, he calmed Terra's disappointment about being home by suggesting that she and I pick a date for the next one. I offered Christmas time next year or her birthday after that and she has decided on her birthday. She also says that she wants to do a Mickey's Philharmagic theme for her party that year and have a cake with Donald crashing through the wall on it. :thumbsup2

I would say it's subject to change based on possible offers next year, etc, but I think she's pretty set on her birthday, so we'll plan for starting with her birthday and going into the next week to miss the New England winter break crowds.

I lost my voice today, too. :headache:

I've had a bad day in the baking department. Earlier this afternoon, I cracked a rectangular cake, because it hadn't cooled long enough in the pan.

And tonight, I decided to try my hand at homemade blueberry muffins for my MOPS meeting tomorrow. My brain is officially fried, because I used a mixer rather than hand-blending the ingredients, and wow, are these muffins purple!

Kevin claims they taste fine and I should serve them anyway with a sign that says, "Boo-berry muffins!" :upsidedow

I hope that you feel better soon! I hate when I have days like that. If the muffins taste good, though, definitely serve them.

Yesterday Emma had her field trip to the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Luckily, Eric and I were able to ride on the bus. But I was correct that the chaperons picked to ride on the bus were the 3 I suspected. They always pick new chaperons for each trip, sure!! But what mattered is that we had a really nice time. Emma loved the museum. We were only there an hour so she is insistent we go back. The museum holds the largest collection of Matisse. 2 sisters from Baltimore collected them along with some Picasso's and Van Gogh's.

The concert at the symphony was really enjoyable. It was all about fairy tales and we heard Sleeping Beauty and Under the Sea. Emma was smiling the whole time. I loved going to the symphony when I was young so it was so nice to see her enjoy it just as much.

Today the girls are off school and we are headed to the farm for some apple picking with Dana and her girls. Should be a lot of fun.

Lucy had her doctor appointment on Tuesday. She weighs 20.6lbs (14th percentile) fully clothed! And she is 29.5" (21st percentile)tall. I've never had such a tiny kid. All is well though.

I'm glad that you were able to go! It sounds like a great day.

Enjoy apple picking! If the weather is nice, maybe we'll go tomorrow. Laura already has a place picked out to go to lunch.

Eek! :scared1: Now that's the kind of story you don't want to hear until AFTER they catch all of the guys. I'm glad DD & Brandon came to your house!

Hang in there, Amy! As long as your muffins are edible nobody will care. Glad to hear Kevin is on the mend. I hope Noah decides to sleep for you soon! :wizard:

And now that I finally got to post some of my responsed (I know I multi-quoted more than that, but I think I lost my window sometime this morning and lost those too), I am going to get to bed. Soooo tired! Plus, with Mom and Dad gone I have to be up with Rachel at 6. Though with the approaching holiday season Phil has to be at work earlier too so I'd have to be up not much later than that anyway. Oh well. At least I'm going to bed with visions of a somewhat tentative ticker dancing in my head. :goodvibes:

Night all!

Yay for a ticker!!

gotta have nekked bears!!!!

:rotfl2:

Glad you have your flights taken care of!

Thanks! Now we just have to buy our APs and save up some money for food. How boring is that?

What a fun field trip! I like the symphony, too. :)
Did you get a bill/statement/confirmation from DCT saying you owe $4 for your theater tickets? I got that in my e-mail this morning. I suppose if they want me to pay $4 I will. :confused3
Have a wonderful time picking apples!
Yay for Lucy! I have a tiny kid. It's not bad.
Have an easy and meaningful fast. ;) (I take it you guys aren't doing the whole Yom Kippur thing?)

DH really liked his birthday present, and he said to thank everyone for the birthday greetings. :goodvibes

He is off next Tuesday so we are letting DS skip school and we're going to the Fair. Momboss gave me free tickets so we might as well use them. It should be fun. Princess will like the farm animals.

He also managed to get next Saturday off so he can take pics at Race for the Cure! :yay:
Robyn - Not sure what other activities he will be up for. He'll probably come to brunch and bail after that.

Sounds like fun, and I love her party/cake idea! A tentative trip counter is better than no counter. If Laura's synchro team ends up going to Gainesville for Nationals, I'll probably try to slip a few days in at Disney. Otherwise, I have no idea when we'll be back. I'm sure I'll find a way sometime in the next few years.

I need to remember to call about my flu shot. Since I'm working with preschoolers, I really should have one.

Oh man, me too, especially since I'll have a newborn, well 3 months now, but still. I should probably get Terra one too.

The day is shaping up nicely in Princess's favor. DH just called and said I should bring DS home after school instead of taking him back to work with me. That should put us in position for CAKE!

I'm glad DH liked his present. The important question -- how was the cake? :rotfl:

Well, the deer definitely lost, since it died immediately. We won in the sense that Matthew is perfectly fine (though shaken at the time) and the car is still mostly driveable. We lost in that we do have to replace a headlight before we can drive at night and there will be some dents and other cosmetic issues that we won't bother to fix.

I'm glad Matthew is okay.

We have been experimenting with different hairstyles for Leighanna since the "incident".

This one is called hair smocking.
I did it last night and it has lasted all day.
It's a little rough around the edges. I need to practice a little more!

I like it, but it looks like way too much work for me to be able to do something like that.

I have a very bad sore throat and my stomach was upset last night. My stomach was fine all day but my throat is getting worse.

I hope you feel better today.

Must be going around. I have slight congestion and the drainage down my throat has caused me to strain to talk, so I'm talking very softly. I told the kids that they needed to be very good tonight because I can't yell at them.;) They actually have been. Nicholas even helped Alyssa with her homework. The surprising thing is that she LET him.

Hope you feel better soon.

That is really cool that they worked together. I hope you feel better today.

Nicholas brought home his recorder today. The thing is plastic!

Jake loves to "entertain" us on the commute.

Im with you---Around 2, i lost my voice alomst completely--i sound HORRIBLE! i told my kids they had to be really good because i couldnt raise my voice--they were!! They kept teling me i sounded horrible! now my voice is worse than that!

Feel better and enjoy your day.

I lost my voice today, too. :headache:

I consider it a huge accomplishment if they taste good. Baked items looking good -- well, that's just a bonus if I manage that. ;)

Congrats on a new ticker. I'd love to see pics from her party -- sounds like it will be really cute.

Randy couldn't get the shower fixed last night -- wrong size parts again. And he bought a bunch of things to try. I might just have to call the plumber. I did get a little more done on clean-out, but homework got in the way.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Well, I am finally actually uploading our pictures. Of course, that could take a little while as it is currently on picture 40 of 1331 on card #1 then there's card #2 which has maybe 500 pics on it?!? :teeth: We have MOPS this morning, but then no plans until 4:00 but to bathe the dog. So hopefully, knock on wood, I'll get a chance to get on here and do some posting with them.

Thanks. That's the party plans for 2 birthdays from now so I've got plenty of time to plan. Knowing Terra though, the idea won't change in that time and we will be having that party theme come 2010. For next year she is going back and forth between a "playhouse disney" party and a "chocolate" party (now that's my daughter, Phil's too!). She's got crazy ideas, but actually doable and fun sounding. Maybe she needs to go into party planning when she grows up.

Well, it's never too early to plan a party! I can't get my boys to decide on one for Dec. and Jan., much less knowing what they want in two years!

Aren't you feeding that kid?! ;)

Any ideas on how you will do that?
