I think your DS is my husband's mini me...and for that I am so, so sorry!!

I brought part of this on myself. I should have told him I would bring him something to eat OR I would pick him up. Staying without anybody checking on him shouldn't have been an option.

We are so paranoid about the phone being lost, stolen, or confiscated it really is only useful for him to contact US. We can't contact HIM with it.

Hmm. So it's 5:40 PM and DH is just now leaving work. Nothing like a 12 hour day. He has no idea how long it will take for him to get home. I told him I will meet him at home, because he has no money to get into the football game. But if he is at a complete standstill when I leave here I think I will go straight to the school to make sure DS really is there. I told DH if somebody talked DS into leaving the campus we would have NO WAY of knowing that. I don't THINK he would leave, but sometimes he does things that surprise me.

 I hope that ds is right where he is supposed to be doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing. It's hard to grant that independence and then not worry, isn't it?

Oh, shut it! :rotfl:

What would you call the back area of our living room where the laptop sits on the desk near the patio door and 1/2 bath?!! One word, mind you!!! :teeth:

Is this my office? My den?

We just got back from soccer practice which had to be called on account of darkness and mosquitoes! Seriously, mosquitoes should be dead by October. Sheesh.

Noah's sleeping habits are as bad as ever, and you can add a sinus/allergy cold to my exhaustion. Try not to hold that against me as I wish you all lots of :grouphug: and :wizard:

Evening everyone!

Haunted Mansion comes on the Disney Channel in a few moments :hmghost:

FYI for those looking at video games -- There is a new Rock Band coming out in the next few weeks, and also a newer version of Guitar Hero. I would check on that for you all to make sure, but as you can see by the picture below, I have a new problem...

oh no!!!

The issue is that it is well-planned but not paid for. The changes I am pondering would be a significant savings: at the least we would save is $2650. That is a lot of money! Our trip last week didn't cost that much with all that signature dining!

Kristin and Bob think we ought to switch resorts. I am betting I will do so after I really crunch numbers.
:scared1: That IS a lot of money. But would you be happy with those changes. If all these cuts are things that you really want to do, that you might not have a chance to do again, you might want to keep it. You said it isn't paid for. Without getting personal, do you have the means to pay it off? That would be the clincher for me. Good luck, and whatever you decide.....you are still going to WDW. :)

It seems all I do when I come on anymore is moan and groan about my job....but I would love all the spare pixie dust you have. I hate the internet sometimes...the jobs I have been applying to go through a third party site before they even see my resume. On 6 of the jobs, I know that I have made it through to the point where they see my resume. I would love for any of these jobs to work out.

I know that I am lucky in that I have a job...but when it takes an hour to psych myself to go into work and an hour to decompress after it just doesn't seem worth it.
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug:

Marci - how did you flood? What happened?

I have been super busy the past few days. I'm reading along but not posting much. Here's a  and :wizard: for you all.

I, too, am getting the dreaded sinus thing, starting off with the post nasal drip. Blech.

DH was home when I got home, so we went to the school. DS was in the bleachers with the rest of the band. :thumbsup2 WE just got home a few minutes ago. He hasn't done his homework, he ate nothing but a hot dog (I put an extra drink and extra snacks in his lunchbox but he didn't touch them), he hasn't had a shower yet (but he does NOT smell like tacos, so he's got that going for him). I am sure he likes being independent, but I don't think I am digging it.

Marci, you seem to be having more than your share of home woes. What did you do to make your house so angry?

I'm glad that he followed directions. He is at the age where he needs some independence. If he can prove that he is responsible then it makes you a good Mommy to give him some. It is hard to let our kids grow up, but they are going to and we need to nurture them into becoming responsible adults. Nick is the same age as DS so I understand what you're going through. I know that ultimately he will turn into a mature, responsible young man and all my hours of worry will be well worth it :thumbsup2

Loosen those apron strings a bit, Elizabeth. ;)

And remind me that I said that when Nicholas is in middle school.

Feel better, Jen!

We were quite busy at work tonight, but it was all at once :scared: I managed to survive :thumbsup2 Tomorrow night was supposed to be my night off, but I've been asked to come in just in case it is busy like tonight. That means I'll be working 6 in a row. Thankfully I have a vacation coming up and I need money :rolleyes1

You guys have to remember that we live in a huge metropolitan area. There are over 1000 kids at that school. If DS did leave campus (because he lacks the ability to think one step ahead to anticipate danger/trouble/etc.) nobody would know who he left with or where he went. It wouldn't occur to him to leave on his own, but I bet he could be talked into leaving if some of his friends were going to walk somewhere to get food or whatever.

And he goes to a school full of thugs, directly next door to a high school full of more thugs. It's smart to worry about him. ;)
